• Disk full error but USB drive has enough free space

  I am trying to copy a file to a USB flash drive even if the drive is empty when I try to copy the file, I get an error message telling me that the disk is full.  The file is 8GB and the drive is 32 GB, so there is plenty of room.  How to fix this?

  Most of the USB flash drives are formatted with the FAT32 file system.  This file system cannot store any single file larger than 4 GB. You will need to reformat the NTFS-formatted flash drive to store an 8 GByte file.  (Attention: save all the files on the drive before reformatting).

• a time machine backup crashes because of the disk IO error?

  When you save to my time machine/capsule my macbook pro freezes and the console that I me errors of I/o to disk and back, never completed survey.

  I ran all the different disk repair utilities and nothing is found

  I deleted my spotlight index and rebuilt that

  I rename my time capsule and that my back again and it goes in a transverse scan deep and save 212GB. He made the first 100 GB freezes and then made the second 100 GB and then freezes and then on the last track, it will not complete the process.

  Happy to reformat and reload, but I need a full backup etc.

  Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me.

  Lately a lot of my habit of files opened, because he says that the "scratch disks" are full.

  However, I have three hard drives checked in the Performance preference.

  They are

  260 on the first HD concert

  557 concert on the next

  and 908 gig on the last

  The only thing I did differently are using photographs and tried to reduce and I work only on documents a3 and a4 still some files are approximately 90 MB and more.

  Photoshop also takes ages to do something and I used it for years. Ive also tried purging all temporary files, etc., nothing seems to work.

  I just reinstalled PS 7.0 on my Windows 7 Pro 64 bit system and PS 7 will not open due to a scratch disk error message. When I tried to install the 7.1 update, it cannot find the PS 7 folder even when I browse it. I tried the ctrl-shift-alt keys together but I still can't get it to open so I can set the scratch disk preferences. What are the keyboard shortcuts to use? Any suggestions why I can't update PS 7?   Your hard drive is greater than 500 GB and the program cannot cope with this and/or there are permission problems. Shrink the partition, make sure that you have the permissions that are set correctly. About the update, you are probably out of luck. These old versions can not access the registry changed structure and therefore do not find the information you need...

• Error Windows Media Center full disk, but the disk is not full?

  Watching TV Live I get a 'Disk full' error after 10-15 minutes of watching (HD if it matters) telling me to delete recorded programs or assign another drive. I havenotregistered program and my assigned drive has 50 GB of free space with 40 allocated in the WMC settings for recording/tv live (although I have no record).

  I want to wrong thinking that 40gigs of free space should be much to just watch live TV?  It should not just delete the buffer to rewind etc once it fills up?

  PS once I get this message if I closed and reopened WMC, he worked for another 10-15 minutes, then gives the same error.

  I had the same problem and found that not a single one of these solutions has solved my problem.

  I solved it by making a backup copy of the recorded TV (c:\users\public\public TV recordings) directory and then delete this directory. When you open Media Center, it seems to recreate the directory hidden in the directory recorded TV (\temprec), which is used for the live TV buffer, freeing all the corruption that may have already.

  Given that this was written in 2011, I'm sure you understood something at this stage. However, the post also has much a views, so I think it might be a persistent problem, so I'll post my solution:

  When I copied the file SRIM - 20xx.e in a folder of SRIM-20xx under Program Files, I had a "Disk full" error when trying to extract the files, even though I had a lot of space on my hard drive and without limits. After a bit of messing around, I like the solution is to move the SRIM-20xx folder on the desktop, and then unpack it. After extraction, which leaves you with a lot of seemingly useless files, double-click CONFIGURATION and the installation will begin appropriate. Installation will create a file under Program Files, there will be no need to make things happen later, simply remove the meantime extract the folder to your desktop computer.

  I suggest you get into the Recovery Console and use the where command prompt to run the chkdsk command. This scan the hard drive for bad sectors and recover any information from reading. To get instructions on how to enter the recovery console in Windows XP:

  a. Insert the Windows XP startup disk in the floppy drive, or insert the Windows XP CD into the CD drive and restart the computer.

  c. when the "Welcome" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
  d. If you have a computer dual-boot or multiboot, select the installation that you must Access from the Recovery Console.
  e. When you are prompted, type the administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.
  f. type in the following command and press ENTER:
  Chkdsk /r
  g. once the command is executed type "exit" (without the quotes) to exit the command prompt and check if the problem is resolved.

  After masking the update sought KB3104002 updates and it found an another KB3100773 same as KB3104002 *. IE 11 updates and it failed.   I have a brand new installation of i5 Intel Core with 8 GB of RAM and a 300 GB HARD drive. Full specifications below:

  • ASUS P7P55D-E Pro
  • Intel Core i5 750
  • 8 GB Corsair Dominator PC12800 1600 MHz DDR3 (more fan)
  • NVIDIA Quadro FX1800 768 MB
  • Corsair TX650 PSU
  • Antec 300 case
  • WD Velociraptor 300 GB
  • Samsung F2380 23 "monitor
  • Wacom Intuos4 graphics tablet

  I use the WD Velociraptor 300 GB, 10 000 RPM drive as a single drive on this computer. There are currently 150 GB free. The reason why I had such fast propulsion was to deal with large files and boost, loading time.

  I get the error "scratch disk is full" when you try to open a .psd file - 4.3 m x 2.4 m, 150 dpi CMYK and is about 173 MB. Also, I noticed that the 150 GB remaining fills.

  So, my questions:

  1. Should I think about getting an extra drive?
     
  2. If so, a reader scratch must be fast or if the disk with the operating system should be faster?
     
  3. I have WD 2 x 500 GB disks that I can transfer to this computer - it would be good in a RAID0 array?
  4. How much space work disk would I need to deal with the bigger files? I have some that are several GB in size, but never had this problem of scratch disk before, even on the previous system, which had only 2 GB of RAM.
