SCREEN BLACK - FIX

If you can begin to use this device, but getting black screen as described below

(Most users of black screen can see the firs of the HP LOGO, and then BLACK - SCREEN)

If contact the HP SUPPORT informs you see the logo or what ever see you before the BLACK - SCREEN

and if you don't see something, then the issue is NOT BLACK SCREEN... it's only if it's BLACK SCREEN no text showing the first...

Try to think if you remember if you had all the USB DEVICES recently connected to your device. then the bottom will be FIX IT.

And is simply yourself you can thank for not having enough experience with the help of a computer!

Updates to the BIOS remember the future will so fast these days and all the new time devices produced then keep your device up to date at all times...

THE update of the BIOS is the most important upgrade you can do!

All devices must be disconnected from the unit you except the power cord, you can even take your battery to is not a problem

But when performing BIOS update you need to download the EXE of the BIOS file to your device and not RUN it through your BROWSER, which is no. 1, most of the affected people just run instead of recovering the file first and which will make your unit accident and if the BIOS update fails your unit is over... you don't you that it works again... SORRY

But try this... unplugg your PSU (Power Supply Uniy)

Remove your battery

then press and hold the power button for approx. 20 sekunds, plug in the power cord again try turn on your device...

If it works, make a new update of the BIOS...

When you perform the update of the BIOS you need to wait for that unity. shut - down, and then only when you see the unit is closed down you can start it again and it will happen the last 5% of the update... SUCCESS

If this does not work contact HP technical support if your unit is still in warranty...

If not you can buy a TICKET, also called a SmartFriend even your unit is out of WARRANTY

1 ticket = 185 KR

1 ticket = 15 EUROS

YOU DOWNLOAD UPDATES MANUALLY, DO NOT USE HP UPDATE THINGY... NOT FOR THE BIOS...

Go to hp.com

1 - Choose the Support & drivers.

2. choose Download Driver and software. Enter your product information... If can't find it start HP support assistant, choose wrong to shoot, and then choose the product specifications... (For a lot of people do not use the HP Support Assistant it is a great tool if you learn to use it... Find your info product (must be full of information, enter it hit entry)

3. you choose System uperations (all units of the HP that I have Windows 7 use 64-bit... Any 32-bit)

4 - Download the EXE of BIOS update to your unit, VERY IMPORTANT.

5. double klik it run it and let him finish, can take a long time, varies from unit to unit, don't forget - it's 98% done when the machine stops, then it lights up again and will end the last 5%...  SUCCESS

6. now you can connect devices USB ect...

Biggest problem is the majority of HP customers never read their manuals and average at least experience with computers when they buy a HP...

If this is the case, take a licens pc... come to help and improve utilization in the future (this is for all HP is) wasn't spec for you...

Good luck bro, I hope it works for you and all the others who have had this problem

I found this answer on another forum, and after the suggested method, my laptop is running again.

Remove the battery, connect the power adapter and keep your laptop for about an hour. Then restart by pressing the power button and it should start working again. Poster on another forum said that the problem could be that the CMOS battery is not getting enough fresh, which causes the motherboard does not start correctly. With the battery removed, the CMOS gives a chance to recharge. I hope this helps.

If you do not already have a current backup, please backup all data, and then reinstall the OS. * you don't need to erase the boot volume, and you won't need the backup unless something is wrong. If the system has been upgraded an earlier version of Mac OS X, you may need to the Apple ID and password to use.

There are ways to back up a computer that is not fully functional. Ask if you need advice.

If you installed the runtime Java distributed by Apple, and still need, you will need to reinstall it. It goes the same for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.

Has not solved the question-are there - it something else?

That's what I discovered, trying to follow the instructions of several positions of countless times and several Tech IT these past two weeks.  This FIX is actually three steps; Two steps in blue SCREEN, the second of two parts missing in the instructions in the previous post Forum fixes:

    STEP 1. Select "F2" on your SCREEN black Error Message 'diskette drive 0 seek failure;

Missing the 2nd step indicating where 'Floppy' must be DISABLED... is actually in two places.

STEP 2.  Arrow down and SELCET «CMOS...» "near the top of the list - (the keyboard is not active) and on the next screen, arrow down and SELECT -" Floppy Drive-1, 44 is activated "MUST be EXCHANGE FOR: 'DISABLED' (the readers of floppy-1, 44 are obsolete) another menu screen will pop up, to make your selection, the arrow down to select"OFF"and the ECONOMY-F10.

STEP 3  Submenu will return to the MAIN - BLUE SCREEN Menu, you need to arrow down and select BIOS; as stated in previous POSTS and need RESET BIOS to: #1 HD, CD/DVD #2; #3 unable to READ floppies; then select F10 to run, return to the main Menu of previous blue screen; "F10,"saves and exits" you in the main Menu of Blue SCREEN" toCOMPLETE FIX... Windows Start Up, immediately, translates the computer starts normally and returns to theWindows Logo and connection status.

    • (See this correction, corrected an error in the boot order in the BIOS since the 'HD' has been 'DISABLED', floppy drive was 2nd "Enabled" and CD/DVD has been 1st disk "Enabled"; and CMOS had "activated" "Floppy drive-1, 44" that has generated this ERROR BLACK SCREEN and interrupt thenormal Windows process at startup computer n and connection. If all goes well, the MESSAGE is useful, easier, and more clear instructions to resolve for the next person with this problem and will be more quickly find and get back to business with a happy computer!

    This is my new tablets...

    (Sorry for my bad engglish)

    Hi Grenven,
Do what I say to reset (restart) your Tablet: -.
--> Memory location opened by card (SD card).
-> Take something thin and sharp as a safety pin or a toothpick.
-> Now, you will see a small hole like structure near SD card slot. (In fact it looks clearly if there is something on the inside, but there are.)
-> Spend your pointy thing in this hole up to a certain distance. (Pass slowly inside until you hear a clicking sound)
-> Who has the reset button which will restart your tablet of any situation.
-> Do not lose patience while finding the reset button. Do what I say and your tab will be back normal. Find it for the first time is a little more difficult but follow my steps, and you will get it.

If you haven't tried the "last known good configuration" among the Advanced startup options then do that first.  If this does not help, you must run the System File Checker to search for possible system problems.  Then, you must run the upgrade from the system tool and then see if you are able to run the SP2 update.   Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers
