I understand that your screen fades and when opening a program and outside when the program is closed.

Did you run The HP Support Assistant to help with the updates from HP and solve problems.

Have you tried using automated troubleshooting (Windows 7) in order to facilitate this difficulty.

You did all your Windows updates?

Were there recent changes to your system?

Here is a link for the display quality problems to help you.

This happens when you open any program or is it one in particular?

    Hi VictorReventlow,

Try the following steps to extend the monitor on the second screen.

    1. In the settings of the display properties dialog box tab, click the icon of the monitor that represents the monitor you want to use in addition to your primary monitor.
    2. Click to select the checkbox extend my desktop on this monitor . After enabling this feature, you can drag items across your screen on alternative screens. Or, you can resize a window to stretch it on several monitors.

  • Windows 7: screen fades out randomly

My screen fades at random, at such a low brightness setting that it is impossible to read the screen. I noticed more when you use a browser (Firefox or Chrome), but happens randomly within other programs, or just at the time when I am on my desktop computer or looking in the files. When you use a browser, whenever I go to a new page, the screen fades quickly all down and light then back up again. Whenever this happens, it straightened until I hit the "Dim" key on my keyboard and it remains dim (not brighten up!). I already changed all the settings of brightness in my power management. I also looked in the Adaptive brightness settings, but it was not an option. This seems to be a drive adaptation that does not work properly.

If I restart my computer, the problem disappears and then returns at random in a few days, or sometimes weeks.

Thank you very much for the help.

  • Window 7: Screen fades to black

My computer is a laptop ASUS with Intel (r) Core i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz 2.00 GHz

    12.0 GB of RAM

    64-bit operating system

And of course, running Windows 7.

Well, then, I have a problem where my screen turns black.

The computer does not turn off and none of the programs stop working, because I can still hear the audio of them continuing to play, but I can't ctrl + alt + del, tab, or prevent it from happening, I have to do a manual valve to the bottom of the computer. Once or twice it is simply cut to black, but most of the time it fades just for her.

Then, sometimes, it will start to fade to black, then reduced, but then melted in the black again and stay that way. (Makes Me think THAT it is a screen saver, power booking glitch, but I checked that already, but if you have any other suggestions for this, far to offer).

It is melted unrelated my battery or power cards, since I already have the game forever when you don't use, etc.

I thought it had something to do with the graphics card with playing the games, as it is when it first, maybe burn, but it happens when I'm just on the desktop or on the internet too. It seems to be completely random.

As a potential note which may have caused the it, which I doubt, but he started to happened after I did so it is possible, having had this laptop for almost two years I finally undid the bottom of things to clean dust (there a lot, kind of a surprise, it didn't ignite at any given time.)

I used a computer dust spray, did not move anything about this, didn't remove anything, I just dusted. Made sure everything was in order and he has closed.

Other then that, I have NO IDEA what could be causing this.

    Help would be VERY appreciated.

  • When I click on a message "Sent", all the letters on the screen fades to opaque, an hourglass appears and nothing happens.

When I open the window for all my "sent" messages and click on a specific message, nothning happens. Instead, inclusion on the list of "sent" messages fades an opaque and an iconn hourglass appears. When this happens, I can't close yet Thunderbird is reactivated. Sometimes if I wait until a minute or two, the message is displayed. I usually Ctrl/alt/delete and start all over again. This has only started happening in the last few weeks. During this same period, another problem appeared. I use google and Youtube to watch a lot of old TV shows. Now, Yahoo research appears, and results include things a lot, as I don't want to see. FYI, I use E-mail a lot, reception and sending messages up to a dozen a day.

    What is the folder "sent"?

The "Sent" folder can get a lot of emails over time.

Suggest that to remove anything you don't need. Archive of what anyone older than a month.

implement 'Archive Options' to archive by month and keep the folder structure.

then select/highlight all the emails older than a month, they will appear as conversations in the messages pane. Click the "Archive".

These e-mails will continue to be available in the archive file, but it will reduce the file size of the "Sent" folder

If you have deleted e-mails from the "sent" folder, right-click on the folder and select "compact".

  • Audio problems when playing and the screen fades on Satellite P100-160

Hi, I bought a new Toshiba Satellite P100-160 of Currys today.
I bought it for the primary purpose of the use of broadcast software OtsAV playing at live concerts between shows.
Any audio device I play glitches in places if I use OtsAv or Windows Media Player. It is not constant, but there's something not quite right with her.

I also noticed that the screen will dim sometimes, then clear up again without reason apparent.

Any ideas what the problem may be?

It happens when the fan starts and stops?

If so join the club, but do not expect to fix

  • B40-30 screen fades on W10 when the power cable is plugged

    Hi all!
Couple B40-30 weeks bought it y a. upgrade to Windows Home 64-bit 10, then did a clean install of W10. Installed all the drivers required from the Lenovo site.
After that (I don't remember what it was like before the clean install) I faced the problem: when I plug in the adapter the screen turns black (gray). When I unplug the cable screens becomes visible. Laptop is not actually usable while it is on the power grid.
I suspect that there is something wrong with the power management settings.
Any help would be kindly apreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

Well, updated the BIOS. Problem ended. However - Thanks for the help and good luck!

  • Screen fades to black

I have the series g of HP Pavilion G7-1281nr computer laptop (Windows 7) I bought the Black Friday of 2011. I have not abandoned or spilled something on it so she just a little more than a year of normal wear and tear.

Last week, he has started doing something that I worry can cause a few problems. I would like to stress that I change all the settings and it does when it has a full battery, plugged or not.

When the screen goes black after inactivity and returns to the login screen, I just move my touch mouse and the screen comes back. I log in and then the screen goes black again. Then I move the mouse and the screen returns but then the screen goes black again. Then I move the mouse and then the screen goes black again. It usually does this somewhere between 3 - 5 times.

I'm worried that it might have something to do with the screen out or could worsen at the level of other computers I've seen where the screen turns off for longer periods of time. I really hope someone can help me with this before that. Unfortunately, I'm beyond my warranty if this feels like my best game.

    Thank you for reading.

    Hello

The first thing I would try is to use Recovery Manager to reinstall your driver graphic original - how to use the Recovery Manager to reinstall the drivers and software is detailed in the document at the link below.

    Recovery Manager - Windows 7

After reinstalling, restart the computer and check if it helped the issue.

    Kind regards
