  Since when you noticed this behavior?
  Have you noticed intensively HARD drive activity before that happens?
  Is the option value for update windows automatically?

  Try to roll beck OS to an earlier time using System Restore tool.

  I have a computer laptop 'HP ENVY TouchSmart Sleekbook 4-1115dx", which is about two weeks after the warranty, and the screen is empty.  I currently have an old crt monitor hooked up to it and everything works fine with the machine - just can't see the screen.  Will I need to replace the whole screen, or can I just replace the Ribbon/string to the display through the hinges to the main unit?  Any suggestions with where can I buy parts for this would be very useful as well.

  Thanks for your reply.  I found that the 3 m tape was broke the cable of the LCD when you take the cover at the back of the laptop screen.  I unplugged then re plugged the cable Ribbon and respected band of restraint and large all worked.

  I'm trying to figure out how to display the screen of my laptop via a projector and also be able to see the screen of my laptop.  When I hit the function key for display on the big screen, my laptop darkens.  I found a post on this forum on the connection of additional views or projector (Set Up Multiple displays). When I go to Mobile PC and display to choose settings listed in the answer (mirrored, extended, etc.) aren't there.  My laptop is running Vista Business Service Pack 2 and two weeks.  Thanks for any help you can provide.

  Thanks for posting on the Community Forums of Microsoft Vista.

  It should probably be shortened on your laptop keyboard to turn on the visible screen (for example Fn + F5). Try these until you can see the image on the laptop monitor.

  Also, follow the steps and try to set the screen parameter as follows:

  (1) right click on the desktop, click Properties, and on the display settings, choose monitor as your main graphics card 1.

  (2) setup that monitor the as a 2nd external display (projector).

  (3) click on apply and Ok.

  Restart the computer to see if you are able to see the screen on laptop and projector.

  You can also check with the computer manufacturer to check if they have additional parameters to be changed.

  Restore point:

  Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

  Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

  Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

  If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

  Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

  Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

  When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

  I would like to ask a simple question which does not seem to respond directly, and I would like to avoid going to a lot of trouble before this experience, in and of itself.

  The screen of my laptop is about 15 "and I have a 32 '' alternative screen flat tv 720dpi with a bunch of candles fantasies on the back so connect any computer which would make him easily.

  The TV has less pixels (points), so it may not display as much information.  That's why computer monitors cost more than the TV, they have a lot more pixels.

• Computer laptop screen glitching pixels? Help?

  The screen of my laptop recently, "glitching" in and out of what seems like pixels. They are always a red color and sometimes when I shoot a picture with a lot of black color to it. I have not changed the settings recently, so I'm not sure this one. I thought I could turn to the Microsoft community to answer me. I wasn't able to get a screenshot of what my laptop looks like when this "pixel glitch" arrives, because the "glitch" disappears quickly sometimes. You see where I am confused on this one?   If your computer is bad, you need to do a system restore. Since it seems that you can not stop, try to hold the power button until it turns off. If this does not work, unplug (if laptop, remove the battery).

  From there on, allows to do a restore:

  1. turn the computer on and start to tap F8 to get the start menu
  2. Select repair your computer
  3. Select System Restore
  4. Follow the prompts
