Screen on Satellite L350 does not work

My Satellite L350 laptop shows a white screen.
After the welcoming text: "Toshiba leading innovation", there is only light on that one a flashing cursor.
With an external display (Fn + F5) is exactly the same thing: the screen has also only the flashing cursor.

What can I try?

Please go to BIOS (F2) to verify if the HARD drive is recognized by the BIOS.
If the HARD drive is not recognized, then this means that the HARD drive is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced. Otherwise its ok and you will need to install the Windows operating system only

    Hello

The touchpad is probably just disabled and so he doesn t work

Have you tried FN + F9 key combination? With this combination of keys you can enable/disable the touchpad, so I would like to test this.

If this is not the case, try to reinstall the driver for the touchpad. You can download it from the Web from Toshiba site :)

    Hello

Try to remove the battery for a while. After plug in the battery try to start the device without the AC adapter.
Also, try to start the laptop without battery with the AC adapter / CC.
If the procedures don't work so I guess there is something wrong with the power supply electronics. In this case, the best way is to ask the service to help.

  • Satellite A300 does not work

My laptop broke down. When I turn on the laptop I get a screen black ask me to select either Startup Repair (does not work) or start Windows normally (does not work).

I am then presented with the System Recovery Options (Startup Repair, System Restore, restore pc windows completely, command prompt, windows memory diagnostic tool, toshiba Recovery Wizard). No matter which option to choose, nothing works. I tried the Recovery Wizard, but he advises that I will lose all data.

I can't afford to lose all my data because it will mean I lose as itunes and I won't be able to deauthorise computer.

I also have a lot of photos and other important information.

I have no backup discs (they were not provided when I bought the laptop).

Hoping someone can help as I really need retriend my all.

    Help!

    > I have no backup discs (they were not provided when I bought the laptop).
The recovery disc are not provided, because you create the recovery disks using the preinstalled software called creator of Toshiba drive back (I guess this is mentioned in the user manual)

But it is the same procedure of recovery provided by Toshiba Wizard of recovery you can find, press F8.
Both procedures (HARD disk or recovery disk recovery) would format the HARD drive.

I think you should start Notepad using the Live CD. You can use Linux Live CD WinPE or (BartPE).
    Google for it

These CD would boot a Windows or Linux environment and will have access to the files on the HARD drive.
Then you could safe files on external media and then you can install Windows using HARD drive recovery.

  • ""(Print Screen) print Scr key does not work is not in Windows XP Pro - (no LOCK "F") "."

I have Windows XP - Pro.  The "Print Scr" button does not work and niether is the combination of keys 'Alt + P'.  My keyboard is not an "F LOCK" / key "F Lock feature" because it has a "Num Lock" key  There's no other keys on my key Board that suggest even a '___Lock' of any kind.  If not, how can I get this feature.  Oh... and one more thing, Microsoft/people sending responses to others, here, to "Social responses" can you try to be a little more specific with what you're talking about?  As your knowledge is greatly appreciated by many, many of us are unfamilliar with computers and have NO idea what you're referring to.  When Microsoft did not find something or is just lazy to do so, he advises people to "ask the administrator of the computer.  I'm the "computer administrator", but I'm inexperienced! How does it work?  Thank you all.

PrtScrn captures the entire screen and Alt-PrtScrn captures activate

Either a capture of the image in the Windows Clipboard. Once it is in

This ability to manipulate the image in a program before printing

But if you like that old return facility, there are several

  • Backslash Key on Satellite P10 does not work

    Hello

The backslash on my P10 804 button does not work, its certainly not a question of OS. I think it may have something to do with the bios or the firmware of the keyboard on the machine?

Y at - it a master keyboard / known firmware issue?

    Kind regards

    Hello

What do you mean by not work?
Do you have strange signs or anything?
Maybe you have the wrong keyboard language settings or bar button jams backslash or the key is dead.

  • L830 satellite - Touchpad does not work

    Hello

I have a 16W L830 I bought less than a month ago. Meanwhile, I had a catalog of problems (it crashes 3 - 4 times a day; it took 2 days to install MS Office; etc.).

For now I'll stick to the more immediately pressing problem: the touchpad stopped working - again. This happened twice before; both times I did a restore of the system for the next day, and that solved the problem.

Today, however, the restoration of the system did nothing to help with the problem of touch pad. I also tried to repair/upgrade to update driver, but my device manager make sure the driver is up to date and works very well. I tried to re - download the driver from Synaptics site and restart my computer, but it does not work either. It is on the edge of my technical knowledge, so now I'm stumped.

As you can probably hear I'm pretty fed up with the machine in general and seriously plans to return. It would be good to set the touchpad, at least, I can use it for the next two days, until I have the chance to take in the store.

Any help you can give would be really appreciated! Thank you
    C

    Hello

Before the recovery of the laptop, check if the touchpad isn't disabled.
This should be verified by using the function Fn + F5 (or only F5) button
In addition you should go to BIOS (F2) and must check if the pointing device is enabled (BIOS-> Advanced-> system-> pointing device Configuration)

In the case where it would not help, recover the laptop

  • 1670 CDS satellite - modem does not work on Windows 2000

    Hi-

I removed the Toshiba W98SE and installed Win 2000 (new installation). I managed to put it on the audio driver using downloads on your website (and it works).

I do a test on the dial installation upward and that you have installed the modem also since your website (Conexant Soft K56 Data, Fax PCI Modem). This is intended for W98SE but microsoft message is

The port looks ok. Please advise - is it the right driver?

    Thank you.

A Windows 98 driver does not work on Windows 2000. Therefore, you need a new driver for Windows 2000.

I have checked the Toshiba site but your model no available Windows 2000 driver exists.
I think you have to search the site of the factory of the modem. Maybe you can find a driver or another portable model that has the same modem.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite L350 - does not start after the BIOS update

    Hello

I recently (yesterday) downloaded the latest version of bios update dated dated 25/02/10 2: 20 - WIN, after download and does run the software from the laptop immediately stopped working and stop. I am now no longer able to boot up the laptop at all, all I get is the power light on and the hard disk light flashes, I hear the spinning CD/DVD drive, but what is not screen anything, I don't think this is the start.

Is there a way to fix this without taking it to a store/engineer, BIOS recovery?

The laptop is a Satellite L350, I opened the laptop to try to reset the CMOS by removing the card mother battery (not sure if it would have helped), but as much as I know it doesn't have an or I'm not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Andy

    Hi Andy,.

Hmm... If the BIOS update failed, you can't do anything because only an authorized service provider has professional diagnostic and recovery tools to redo an update.

So in my opinion, you must contact a service provider authorized in your country. Get in touch with the guy and ask for help. They will tell you what to do now.

    Here is their list:

  • Satellite L350 does not connect to the internet, network adapter yellow exclamation

Trying to help my Nan with his laptop...
    Model is Satellite L350-170

Does not connect to internet, even using the Ethernet cable. Network cards have yellow exclamation marks on it and seems he needs an updated driver. How the hell can I download and update if it does not connect to the internet. And then, what update is necessary, because I searched on here and there is no update driver for network card?

She had various internet help from its supplier and a visit at home but still no joy. Internet works fine on other devices. Any advice greatly appreciated.

All the drivers can be downloaded from the Toshiba UE driver page.
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
Choose your model of laptop in the form of download and the system that is pre-installed on you unit.
Then, you will get the list of drivers.

If you are not able to connect to the internet due to lack of driver LAN/WLan, then you another computer for download.

You asked how to remove the network card?
Usually, you need to access the Device Manager (in Control Panel) then we need to expand the area to network adapters and you will find the LAN and WLan card.
Click the single LED adapter, and then press or click on uninstall button driver
