  Check the State of the WMI service start-up

  1. click on start, type "services.msc" (without the quotes) in the search box and press ENTER.

  2. double-click on the service "Windows Management Infrastructure.

  3. make sure that the startup type was set to "Automatic" and the service status is "started", otherwise, if it please change start type and click on the Start button to activate this service.

  Method 3: If the problem persists, let us register the WMI components.

  Save the WMI components

  a. click the Start button, and then in the "Search" box, type CMD.

  b. in the list above, under 'Programs', then right-click on CMD which appears above and choose 'run as administrator' and click 'continue'.

  c. in the open window, type the following commands one by one and press enter after each command:

  CD /d %windir%\system32\wbem

  for %i in (*.dll) do RegSvr32 %I s

  for %i in (*.exe) do %i/regserver

  Note: The WMI Tester window may appear, it is normal, and we can move forward to close.

  d. restart the computer and check if you receive errors.

  I just had this problem recently. When I start my computer, there is a pop up that says that the Windows Firewall is disabled. I click on the button to turn it on and then appears a screen that says "Security Center may depend on Windows Firewall." I then click "Activate Windows Firewall manually."   I have Dell T3500 Office, I pressed the Start button and the lamp on the Start button began to blink for a few seconds with a noise of power supply (SMPS/PSU) and 1 and 3 flashing and lights out.   Method 1: Restart Windows and try to start the Security Center service.

  If you still receive the same error, make sure that the WMI service is launched and running:

  (a) click Start, run , and then type Services.msc

  (b) double-click Windows Management Instrumentation

  (c) set its startup type to Automatic

  (d) click Start to start the service, and then click OK

  (e) restart Windows.

  Method 2: Restart the service

  Windows logs an error if the service IKE and AuthIP IPsec Keying Modules or the driver does not start, or suddenly, they end.

  To restart the IKE and AuthIP IPsec Keying Modules service:

  To perform this procedure, you must have membership in the local Administrators group, or must you have been delegated the appropriate authority.

  (a) restart the service. You can do this from a command prompt or in the snap-snap-in Services Microsoft Management Console (MMC). Do one of the following:

  ·         Start an administrative command prompt. Click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, right-click guest, and then click run as administrator. At the command prompt, run the command net start ikeext.

  ·         Click Start, type services.msc in the Search box and press ENTER. In the column name of the Services snap-in, right-click on IKE and AuthIP IPsec Keying Modulesand then click Start.

  (b) if the attempt to restart the service fails, restart the computer. This forces all related and dependent services to restart.

  You can check that the IKE and AuthIP IPsec Keying Modules (IKEEXT) service runs by using the Component Services Microsoft Management Console (MMC) or the net start command line tool.

• Appstack - capture VMware Client plugin integration of 5.6/6.0 does not work

  So with the new customer integration plugin which essentially acts as a web services, I've updated the AppStack to include new versions of the integration Client plug-in. Unfortunately, it seems that this is not possible.

  After having captured and ensure that the vmware-csd process was not working, I advanced and provisioning of the AppStack. However, when I connected the desktop computer, attach the appstack I just put in service, I discovered that the integration of client plug-in has not start up when I navigate to the Web Client. Looking at the web console, I noticed that a web socket request was not due to of insoluble host vmware localhost name. I discovered that integration Client plug-in adds a vmware-localhost for the hosts file entry in the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc directory, but it forced me to empty the DNS before the hosts file entered into force.

  Even then, I found that the plugin would not work, so delve into files of IPC newspapers showed that the certificate is missing from the directory C:\ProgramData\VMware\CIP\csd\ssl. And I found that the certificate generated during installation is not captured in the AppStack.

  I saw the snapvol.cfg in the AppStack and, unfortunately, I found that she was set to exclude anything under the ProgramData\VMware directory. (EDIT: I learned, the UIA in writing also includes this disclaimer, so same Volumes accessible writable UIA does not properly with VMware CIP)

  I decided, if I need to make this work, I'll have to copy the folder in question (C:\ProgramData\VMware\CIP\csd) to another location where it will seize in the Appstack and then use the allvolattached.bat script to copy the folder and its contents in the place and triggers the ipfconfig /flushdns to work. Have not really tested, but he will try.

  EDIT: confirmed that it does not work with the above method. I copied the folder CIP C:\ProgramData and allvolattached.bat script to copy the folder to the right place (Powershell Copy-Item C:\ProgramData\CIP\ C:\ProgramData\VMware\-Recurse) and trigger DNS flush (ipconfig/flushdns).   When I click the icon "Cycle multiple monitors", I get the message "VMware Workstation does not support the multiple monitors feature in other guests."  Google found me no hits on it.  Anyone know what that means or how I could get multiple monitors to work?

  The host OS is Windows 7 Professional x 64 with service pack 1 applied.  The guest operating system is Debian Linux, version 8, also 64-bit.

  With your virtual machine turned off the power, go into the settings of your virtual machine and on the Options tab, under general, select the client OS type: Linux > Debian 7 64-bit.  Then try to turn your virtual computer and see if it works.  (8 debian is quite close to Debian 7.)

  I try to keep things simple, while planning for the CPU isn't really simple

  All processors/cores are shared between the host itself and all virtual machines and all of them need sufficient CPU cycles to work with the performance you expect. If you assign multiple vCPUs to a virtual machine, the UC Planner must ensure that the number of virtual processors is available at the same time to execute commands. For example, assuming that you assign 4 vCPUs, the Planner must wait until the 4 cores are available. To achieve this, you need to pause the first carrots until the 4th is available. Meanwhile suspended hearts are not available for other processes.

  In addition, vCPUs more generally does not add much performance to a virtual machine unless the applications running on the virtual machine are optimized to use multiple processors.
