  • Pavilion for computer laptop-15-p107nz: problem of SDS upgrade on Pavilion laptop - 15-p107nz

    Hello

I recently bought a HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p107nz and decided to do an SSD upgrade. Also bought the BX100 Crucial 250 GB, but the computer does not recognize it. When this window where I can manage partitions and choose the convening HDD/SSD (so that the formatting), the right SSD does not appear. When I connect the old HDD in return, it seems everything as usual!

What is going on? There is still no new version available BIOS.

Could you please help? I'm so frustrated, lost 2 whole days, try something, but without success.

    Best regards

PS: Apolagize for any error in English.

I actually have enough. I see no solution in short time, once I've tried everything, and the worst thing is, after all, what I tried and time losted in the present, to see that another brand of SSD works fine without problems.  Last night, tried my Crucial SSD in my HP Envy 23-n200np Beats all-in-One special edition, which still had a HARD drive, and everything worked well also.  Decided to do the upgrade for the Crucial SSD, and just ordered another Samsung SSD 850 Evo for my HP laptop. I want to thank very you much, really. Even without visible results (because it's a particular problem) you helped a lot, and I learned new things. Thank you very much a companion. God bless you!

  • X 220 SDS upgrade options

What you guys would recommend doing? I heard that you can buy SDD drives 2.5 "and remove the envelope and you always make them fit.

    1. look at the 220 x Hardware Maintenance Manual
    2. find some threads here. For example, this one:

  • SDS vs Upgrade RAM

I read around this topic to that based on the fantastic contribution, I had started page on this forum and elsewhere but just want to make sure that my interpretation is correct before moving forward. Looking to buy or 1650v2 HP Z420 E5, 16 GB of RAM DDR3 1866, 1 TB HDD, or Dell Precision T5810 with latest E5 1650v3, DDR4 RAM, 500 GB HARD drive 16 GB 2133. Two would have GTX 970 added by myself, a HDD 7200 second cache of media and the second ethernet adapter. All projects assets, previews will be on a media sever (so second ethernet card).

Now while my heart says go for the HP because I've used them before for years without problem and I think historically they have a better record in the world of editing than the range of accuracy (although it is perhaps not the case today), I also said that they have better cooling which can be important with a GTX in it. However, my head said it makes more sense to buy the latest components in the Dell, the newest is better right and ironically the pricing are not so different?

However, a factor that could rock it is the price of upgrades. If I have pennies left over, I'd better add more up to 32 GB of Ram, or get the SSD system drive? My understanding is that the RAM would be more advantageous as it will help balance out the hex core CPU, where as the SDS will not dramatically affect performance of the start software is and launch of both applications. If this is the case, then the price of DDR3 RAM could be the decision maker because it is much cheaper DDR4 whose price is probably beyond my means for any further at this time, unless of course the DDR4 in the Dell represents enough increased performance on DDR3 that the 16 GB will do the job and then I can add later on any line when prices fall.

Need to get out as soon as possible thank you in advance for any help!

The V3 version is the only one of these 2 you want to examine. The V2 version is inherited and is not worth the money at this point. If you plan to update as soon as the budget is available then I would recommend that the version V3 with the 16 GB of ram with the performance of knowledge will be limited to some extent by the amount of ram. I also want to show that one that makes these decisions in the company. You can't buy solutions that are not ideally configured and wait for the ideal performance for many publishing workflows. I find it interesting that they will invest in a unit of media server of small tree whose products are normally not cheap but will not spend the budget on the editing system to have a perfect Setup for the purpose. I you desktop Quad Core if the V3 system will see updates for some time. Never buy based on the upgrade paths that are more far out than a year or two. For a lot of things change on the market so that it is a big consideration.

  • I need some advice on how to upgrade my MBP mid 2010 HDD to SDS without using clone software

Unfortunately, I had resisted the upgrade of the OS and kept my Snow Leopard running for a few weeks when the incompatibility of the various things became a nuisance I took the plunge and upgraded to OS El Capitan. That pretty much killed my hard drive. It kept failing good start and eventually when it did, no matter what function took forever to action. I took it to the Genius Bar and after a few tests it came with hard drive failure. In accordance with the notice given to me - I was told I should buy a Samsung EVO 850 and it would take me 10 minutes to install and simply use time machine to move my data.

I can happily work on people, but the machines seem to much more complex.

I decided to do a little reading and now am a little stuck and confused as clearly this is not so simple.

I have a SATA cable / USB. I think I know how to mount the SSD with the SATA connection format and then fresh install OS El Capitan.

The thing to note is that my MBP has been an erratic behavior of 2-3 years with gel and episodes of kernel errors and downtime. I thought previously, it had something to do with an external application - google chrome and got rid of this to use Opera instead. He made much less frequent mistakes but nevertheless still occurred.

For this reason, it does not seem logical to use clone apps (although much would have made life easier) and I need to somehow this the long way round... or so I think, but please correct me if wrong.

I have a Time Machine backup before I upgraded my OS, and before you try anything, I'll do another then its judgment the new OS.

    My questions are:

    1. after formatting my SSD, I should make a partition?

    2. is it acceptable for then simply drag a copy of the OS El Cap to the SSD and run hopefully leading to installation?

    3. What is the best way to migrate my data?

Note that I'm not a tech savvy person, have never done anything like this before and its taken me weeks to reach these conclusions to date.

With step by step instructions all tips are welcome.

    Thank you.

Create partitions first, then format each partition.

I think you need to create a USB flash drive install and then boot from the flash drive and go launched the installation process.

    Hello

I was wondering if someone has improved their HDD R100 to a SDS drive?
I would like to change my current 40 GB to a disk ~ 64 GB SDD and I was wondering if there is a mark that is one that would be plug-and-play.
I think the hard drive is an IDE 50 pins?

Any recommendations where to buy one?

    Thank you

    Hello!

Hama also makes SSD with 1.8 and IDE interface.

But the best way is you go to your local computer store and ask prices and manufactured products.
Maybe you can also find in the good internet offers. Try with Google.

  • can I upgrade my Dell Inspiron 14R N4010 HDD SDS?

    Hello

I do intend to upgrade Dell inspiron n4010 SATA hdd to SSD, is it possible?

If so it would be simply plug-out and plugin or you would have a few extensions?

    Thanks in advance.

You can simply replace in a 2.5 SSD "and reload Windows or clone your existing operating system (the former requires that make you a set of recovery media it will require other hardware and software).

Replacing the hard drive on this model requires a bit of disassembly - including the abolition of the system board.  Make sure that you are comfortable with the level of work:

  • The upgrade of the SDS disk leaves MBP (mid-2010) on the gray screen

From 18:00 yesterday, I have prepared a new Crucial SSD 1 TB for my Macbook Pro (mid-2010), and now it does not start. When I reinsert the disc HARD original (Hitachi 320 GB at 5400 RPM), it starts always is more. I tried every key to start command, but it does not work.  What is going on?  I can't access even my disks on Windows PC, because they are more support or recognize Fat volumes (using NTFS), so I currently am up the Creek without a paddle. FWIW, I used Carbon Copy Clone to work.  Thank you for your time.

  • Satellite L50-B-27N - upgrade to the reader of the SDS

    Hello
I got SATELLITE L50-B-27N and I want to add drive hard ssd, is possible to add to the 1 TB 5400 RPM that comes with the laptop or I have to replace the ssd instead of the 1 TB drive?

I plan to do the same thing with my L50t-A-145 and would just buy a caddy of the Bay for optical drive on eBay. Your laptop has optical drive (DVD or Bklu-ray)? If so, it should be easy to remove - one of the screws on the bottom of your laptop will be used to set the optical drive in place. If you can work what screws it is and remove it, the optical drive should just slide out. You can then measure the thickness is (probably ~ 9mm) and then order an appropriate caddy. You can either put your SSD or the stock laptop 1 TB HARD drive in the caddy and bingo your laptop has 2 hard drives.

    Hope that helps,

  • 6 - 1014NR envy: HP Envy 6 - 1014 upgrade to SSD prompting the Installation Windows disc

This laptop was purchased with a Windows 7 OS pre-installed.  A year ago, I took advantage of the free upgrade to Windows 10.  No problem and so far so good.

Today, I decided to upgrade my factory HDD to SSD performance.   I clone the drive HARD integer using Macrium Reflect and he went ase expected.

After passing on hard drives and cranking up the SSD, I am taken to the Windows Boot Manager screen.  It recognizes that I have a hardware change (HDD-> SDS) and he suggested that I demarrer start with Instalation of Windows disk, select language and next, before choosing the repair option.  How can I solve this problem I never got a Windows Setup disc (without CD player on this model)?

In the Windows Boot Manager, there is a following screen to select an operating system.  Although I can see the Windows 10 option, after you have selected the option I need just to return to the Windows Boot Manager screen.

You can provide any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

    You are the very welcome.

Unfortunately, I do not know what W10 gives you the repair options.

If there is a command line option, you can try running the repair options listed in the link below.

They are for W7, but maybe W10 uses the same commands.

    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/927392

I would not invest too much time in the repair installation, because you will probably be able to clean install W10 and install all your programs and files in less time it will take to understand the problem (if you can).

  • Issues of update/upgrade of equipment for Tecra S10-183

    Hello

    TOSHIBA TECRA S10-183

    Pre-installed software: Yes [R11382GR]
    Purchase date: 13/05/2011

I use above professional mobile phone use for CAD programming as well as for Office applications.
2 GB RAM (standard), I can increase up to 4 GB Kingston (ex aequo) on purchase.
With the 160 GB HARD drive, I had a lot at the beginning of the loss of speed.
So I leave a month later to a switch of OCZ Vertex 120 GB of a second
And lasted almost 9 months without problems.
Now, I don't have so much free space in my SDS. So I would like to
'Intel SSD 520 Series 240 GB 2.5 SATA III'
    Skip the leave.

My question would be, I would get this problem?
    (1) in theory, SATA3 work perfectly well this SSD 240 GB right?
In the manual, it is up to 120 GB SATA2 SSD in it. However, the 2009 manual. The information is very old. And at that time were not yet 240 GB free for end users of hard drives SSD SATA3.

    (2) is there any Windows Professional / Ultimate / Business 64 for 7 as this laptop?
Original, I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. I wanted that my memory that expanded up to 8 GB. CAD program running on the 64-bit operating system much better.

    (3) is the card graphic and/or welded directly on my cell or can I leave replace it? It is a plug-in card?

    (4) can I switch to a processor / CPU? What size?

    (5) the Mobile UMTS and HSDPA / HSPAU / LTE is capable?

    (6) I still can't be on the Toshiba support site:
    http://de.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/generic/SUPPORT_PORTAL/
find when you enter the serial number or model number is not my laptop?

On a response, I would be very happy.

Sorry for the bad English. My language is German!

So I hope that someone can help me with my questions.

    With sincere friendships.

    > 1) in theory, SATA3 work perfectly well this SSD 240 GB right?
    > Manually, it is up to 120 GB SATA2 SSD in it. However, the 2009 manual. The information is very old. And at that time were not yet 240 GB free for end users of hard drives SSD SATA3.

The SATA controller is not limited in size, you can use 250 GB, 500 GB or more large hard disks. The same should be possible with SSD drives since the controller is the same.

(> 2) is there any Windows Professional / Ultimate / Business 64 for 7 as this laptop?
    > Original, I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. I wanted that my memory that expanded up to 8 GB. CAD program running on the 64-bit operating system much better.

Don't know what you mean exactly, but if you want to installed Win 7 64 bit, then you can do without big problems the 64-bit drivers are available on the European driver Toshiba page.

(> 3) is the card graphic and/or welded directly on my cell or can I leave replace it? It is a plug-in card?
The laptop seems to be equipped with a NVIDIA Quadro NVS 150 M chip graphic. This is an external chip that is connected/soldered on the motherboard. But even if you can remove this chip, the upgrade is NOT possible.

    (> 4) can I switch to a processor / CPU? What size?
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

Generally the CPU upgrade depends on the chipset of the motherboard.
You could upgrade the processor, if the chipset would support the new processor.
There are still questions about BIOS support, but I've read here in the forum that some people have been able to upgrade the new processor.

(> 5) the Mobile UMTS and HSDPA / HSPAU / LTE is capable?
Support for 3G modules appears to support the HSDPA standard

(> 6) I still can't get on the Toshiba support site:
    > find when you enter the serial number or model number is not my laptop?

Maybe it is not inserted into the database, but your Tecra S10-183 belongs to the series of PTSB3E that you can search other models belonging to the PTSB3E for details

  • HP 15-r030wm j2x46ua #aba: CPU/RAM upgrade question

I want to upgrade my CPU and RAM, but notice 2 things.  1st - the processor is a N3520; is not it is welded to the card or can I spend it?  2nd-if the CPU is only N3520 RAM socket, then the max would be 8 GB 3DDRL or can I use a better?

Try to find the best RAM.  Now that the processor is welded for sure only 3 things I can do to improve performance.

1 switch for SDS for the OS and the current use of storage

    2. I do not have a CPU fan, so I guess I can install 1 I hope...

3 - find the best possible low-voltage RAM but still do not know that I can use.

I saw manual on how to open it and this laptop just crazy when it requires an almost complete dysection = /

You are right. He is a Bay Trail N Pentium processor that is soldered to the motherboard and a slot single memory with a maximum of 8 GB of RAM. Manual link seems to be down at the moment.

    (1) as a general rule, all laptops can be upgraded to an SSD. If the connector on the SSD is the same as the original hard drive connector, it should work.

    (2) I believe there are 1.8 "PATA SSD available, google is your friend.

    (3) I think the R500 is using a connector ZIFF customized for the SSD drive, then you will not be able to install a standard SATA or PATA 2.5 "SSD Drive. I don't know if you can buy SSDS with the connector ZIFF, once again, google can help you.
