Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex ultra-portable 500 GB malfunction

My Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex ultra-portable 500 GB drive hard primer not on my Acer laptop. A few weeks ago, it was working fine now the laptop does not detect the hard drive.  What should I do?

2. do you get an error message when you connect the hard disk?

3. the hard drive works on other computers?

4. the hard drive works on other USB ports?

Here are some ways you can follow to resolve the problem:

Method 1:

Open the hardware and devices Troubleshooter

Method 3:

Download and install the latest drivers from the manufacturer's Web site.

Method 4:

To disable and re-enable the USB controllers, follow these steps:
a. Click Start, type Manager of devices in the search box of start and press ENTER.
b. expand Bus USB controllers.
Note: You will need to scroll down to find this point.
c. the first USB controller under Bus USB controllers right click and then click on uninstall to remove it.
d. Repeat steps above for each controller USB is listed under Bus USB controllers.
e. restart the computer. After the computer starts, Windows will automatically check for changes on the hardware and reinstall all USB controllers that you uninstalled.
f. check the USB device to see if it works.

Method 5:

    Mac and PC does not use the same "formats" for their drives.  You must locate the special "pilot" the Seagate 'provide' so one to allow a Mac format GoFlex drive is accessible on Windows.

When I plug it into the USB port it will not appear in the my computer tab, however, it shows in the toolbar at the bottom as installed but with nothing on it. When I run the troubleshooter, it says that the problem can not be detected, but it also says that the device is functioning properly. I do not know because I can not the specifics to fill. Y at - it somewhere that I can take this drive to see if someone can see if my files are always about this and that so they can transfer to another drive? Help, please!

    Only these HDDS that are tested with the router are in the compatibility list... So, the Seagate 500 GB model can work with the router WRT160NL. You can try this.

    Method 1: Try to format the drive and then connect and see if it helps:
    Right-click on the external hard drive and click Format.
     
    Method 2: You can run a disk check to see if there are drive errors that can cause this problem.

    Before perform us any of the steps, first of all I suggest you to create a backup of the data stored in your external hard drive on another computer.

    To save the data, you can connect your external hard drive on another computer and copy all the files and folders on the other computer. Later, you can connect the external drive to the Windows 7 computer and try to run the disk error checking and check if that helps you solve the problem.

    After completing the disc you error checking, try to check if you can access the drive.

    Note: there is no way to format without losing any data on the disk. Formatting the drive will erase all data.  This is why you must back up the data before formatting the hard drive.

  • Seagate FreeAgent drive stopped by Windows 7

    Hello everyone, I have a Seagate FreeAgent 1 TB drive which is seen issuses and was stopped by Windows 7.  It worked a few days ago.  I connect it to the USB ports on the top of the box of the computer in my office.  And yes I have tried both of them.  When I put a flash drive either of these USB ports, Windows 7 recogmizes drive.  I turned off the Seagate drvie, reconnected the cable and rebooted the computer several times, but the drive refuses to work.  Any ideas?

    I would be very grateful if someone can help solve the problem captioned.

    I bought the EA4500 for a week and all is well, except that the connection to my external hard drive 1 TB via the USB port of the EA4500 is not stable.

    The router are visible at the level of the 'network' of Windows 7, as one of the "Computer".   I therefore use my memeo autobackup software to back up my data via a network connection on the external hard drive.

    It works very well, however, for a limited time.  The time is a few hours.

    After that happens, the device can no longer be seen at the level of the "network".  In addition, it cannot be mapped via the service 'road map' normal.  A "Not enough resources" error when I want to map the drive.

    The problem can be solved temporarily after a "roboot" of the router.  But it's frustrating.

    What is the ip address of your router buffalo? 192.168.11.1?

    Check and see if you are double natting.

    Try changing the scope and dhcp IP linksys range identical to the buffalo.
