Search wifi 802. 11B on T400 with windows 7?

Hi people, I need to limit my intel 5300 802 connection. 11 b at work (g is flaky for some reason any). On XP, the dial-up connections would allow me to restrict my 802 mode. 11B. In my new installation of Windows 7, however, I can't figure out how to make this happen. Is it possible to limit my wifi 802. 11 b in Windows 7? Thanks, T400, 2764-CTO Intel 5300 AGN Windows 7

Hi ashenkin, the 5300 adapter Device Manager Advanced properties are the same in Windows XP and 7. It should look like this. Under wireless Mode, you should see "b only. If you do not see that something is wrong (driver not installed correctly?).

a friend of mine gave me his Lenovo T400 to install Windows XP on it

He previously worked fine with windows 7 and 8.1

then it starts in preinstallation of windows XP screen, it formats the hard drive and as usual instalation automatically restarts after this BUT his black screen, lights and sounds show that it works and goes to the next screen BUT the screen is still black. Put power off then turn on again does not display any image of the screen. Open he removed the battery of the Bios, turned upward after a few pennies and turned off it starts it reset the bios.

So now it has photo and it goes on the next screen Windows instalation as usual, after the installation of devices and other things, it restarts automatically as usual BUT there is NO new screen, black screen, lights and sounds new show that its loading windows end instalation screen, but no image on the screen.

Reset the BIOS again, it starts normally, and this time shows BSoD with code 0x7B, after once again the BSOD screen black

Maybe it's a setting in the BIOS? tried to install with the AHCI drivers and tried to install without driver for Compatible, what else is there? Updated the bios to the latest version, same result.

To say again - it works very well with other windows, but XP should be installed

There is a manual for installing XP on these laptops, I have not read, sorry

so the black screen is because of the switchable graphics option in the Bios that is not supported by XP

It works fine now after a whole an integrated and disabled for OS detection framework

  • HP 15-f039wm: Re: qualcomm-atheros wifi adapter does not work with windows 8

    Hello HP support.

I have a HP 15-f039wm, product J8X12UA #ABA, running Windows 8.1.  I like it, but I thought I could improve it by upgrading to 8 GB, installation of a 240 GB SSD and move the 500 GB HARD disk to an external USB adapter.  So far, so good, so very jolly good.

I also wanted to upgrade the Wi - Fi adapter to a faster power adapter with Bluetooth 4.0, but instead to get the AC7260 from Intel, I settled for a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 with the Bluetooth BT3012 device, which belongs to a HP, I think.

I shouldn't have paid.  Too late, I learned that the Atheros AR9485 has major compatibility problems.  Microsoft compatibility survey shows that some 530 speakers, 357 note as incompatible AR9485.

This pair Bluetooth adapter and connects with my cell phone, but it remains connected for less than a minute before it disconnects.  It does not connect with something else I have.  It does not recognize my Bluetooth phone earpiece, and he recognizes that rarely my Bluetooth keyboard, with which it will pair but it never connects.

The keyboard is a deal breaker - a must - have - and something really nice.  I tried the same Bluetooth keyboard sold by comb and Arteck jelly and a similar one by the EC technology, which has the top two rows of keys merged into one.  They connect immediately with an IPhone 4, but none of the three would be in contact with the BT3012 in my HP 15 - f039wm.

Microsoft recommends the most recent drivers as a fix for incompatibility issues.  I downloaded the NIC drivers and card with Bluetooth Bluetooth drivers for the AR9485/BT3012 of http://www.station-drivers.com .  That updated the Qualcomm Bluetooth driver version 8.0.1.273, date from mid-2013, that came with the BT3012 (AR9485) Microsoft version of the driver 8.0.1.344 card, day 23/04/15.  Even still, it connects to my cell phone but nothing else.

"Allow Windows to turn off this device to save power" is not checked for the adapter.  I also ran the 'netsh' command to clear the TCP/IP stack and reset the Winsock Catalog.  I have no intend to restore Windows to the factory; before that I would, I would get the Intel AC7260 more expensive card - that I probably do anyway, given the record of the incompatibility of the Qualcomm Atheros AR9485/BT3012.  I do not expect to change this folder, no matter what I do.

    But I'm open to suggestions.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to investigate this problem.

    Hi @gospelmidi,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

I take that you have swapped the hard drive and replaced the original card wireless and Bluetooth with the Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 with the Bluetooth BT3012 device and cannot associate with something other than your cell phone.  You tried to reset the TCP/IP stack, but there was no change.

Did you run HP Support Assistant to ensure you have all the updates from HP?

Have you tried to run the troubleshooter in Windows?

Alternatively, you can try the following steps.

Step 1. Go to Device Manager
Step 2. Right click on "Bluetooth device" you want
Step 3. Select "update driver software... »
Step 4. Choose "Browse my computer for driver software".
Step 5. Choose "Let Me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.
Step 6. Select "Ports (COM & LPT)"
Step 7. Select "Microsoft" to the list of "manufacturers".
Step 8. Finally select "Standard series via a Bluetooth connection.

If you are unable to connect to a Bluetooth device, try the following:

Step 1. Search for 'Change device' in the start menu in Windows 8.
Step 2. Click on where it says change device installation settings.
Step 3. Select No, let me choose what to do option.
Step 4. Check the automatically get the device app option
Step 5. Click on save changes to save the settings that you select

    So, you can try this

Step 1: Go to RUN (Windows Logo + R) and type "services.msc" and Enter
Step 2: Now find 'Bluetooth Support Service' and double click it
Step 3: Now click on the Log on tab and type "Local Service" without the quotes
    Step 4. Click on "account".
Step 5: Now remove any authorization of passwords the password field blank
Step 6: Below the upper left title should be a hyperlink 'Start' click

  • Portege M700 searching for Mobilink ConManager be used with Windows 7

    Hello

I upgraded a Portege M700 Notebook Vista (of recovery) for Windows 7 (32 bit). Most of the devices and drivers where found and assigned automatically in the installation process, some more later with the Toshiba/Microsoft software updates. Also the driver for the Modem 3 G integrated has been installed and says "working properly".

Feature: "SM Bus Toshiba broadband (3G HSDPA) minicards Modem.
Pilot: "Novatel Wireless Inc." / version 3.0.0.3 / Date 14.09.2006 (signed by Microsoft)

But I can't find software for Windows 7 to make use of the modem (establishing a connection)
Formerly "Mobilink connection manager' does not show upward in the Toshiba download page (Windows 7) and the old version (VISTA) does not (stops without error message installation procedure).

Y at - it no hint how to establish a connection 3G with the M700 (Win7) or a link to a working version of the Mobilink for Win7 connection manager?

    Thanks in advance...

  • Lenovo T400 again with windows vista

I have a Lenovo T400 with Windows Vista and I would like to upgrade to Windows 10.

10 free update Windows suddenly appeared in other laptops I own (even on machines T61) but it seems that there is no upgrade path to Win10 of Vista, it does Win7/8.

Then... I know that I can buy a license key for less than $20, but I wonder is there an official way to improve this machine from Vista to Win7.

    Which is still possible?

    Thank you!

You can still use switchable graphics, however it is not the easy way. You would have to use the BIOS to switch, and then the right video driver loads, depending on the chosen graphics chip.

  • Dell Wireless 1702 802.11b/g/n - device errors

I have a Vostro 3550 running Windows 7 Pro. He has a card of Dell Wireless 1702 802.11b/g/n with an intermittent fault:

The error messages of this device, Report Manager are:

This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.

    and also:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

These two appear about 80% of the time while trying to use the Wifi. A restart of removes it the error message and the wifi can sometimes serve as usual for a short period before one of the errors reappear. When booting on a live-cd Linux error messages also appear with the ath9k drivers.

I was not able to find any help elsewhere, but the laptop is still under warranty and otherwise in good condition.

This problem was corrected by a Dell technician replacing the physics of the wireless card

  • How can I activate 802. 1 x in Windows 2000 sp4?

I want to implement 802. 1 x with Windows 2000 pro SP4 and Catalyst switches. Not wireless, but via RJ45 Connecting Cable.

    How can I turn on the 802. 1 x in the W2K SP4?

    Thank you

support for 802.1 x would come by default with SP4 because it contains the functionality of the SP3 fix to 802. 1 x (Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 313664). After activation or upgrade to SP4 however, you must enable the automatic wireless configuration Service.

You will notice you an Authentication tab under your Local area connection properties window after that.

    I hope this helps.

  • XPS issues 8500 - Dell 1073 802.11b/g/n network adapter.

I have a situation about 1073 802.11b/g/n with the network adapter.

I am connected to my router on the N network connection but my wireless network connection status only advise a 72.2 Mbps speed. I thought the speed using N would be up to 300 Mbps. My router is only 10 feet away. I had a play with the preinstalled Net Smart Atheros program, but it is worse. Does anyone else have questions or ideas why this is happening.

I have one similar problem and other with the same computer, XPS 8500 and the Dell Wireless 1703 I received 10 days ago. Played with him since then.

I found something that helped on the properties of the device on the Advanced tab, I noticed that 802.11n bandwidth has been set to 20 MHZ only, which changed to 20/40 Mhz Auto, which helped somewhat, not completely.

I see conflicting "information" too... the connectoid on the Systray shows 5 bars1 only 3 bars. Open some utilities like wireless assistant and he said 150 Mbps speed and sheer force of 50%. The State of Wi - Fi under properties of the map indicates 135Mbps?

I activated the settings of connections Atheros also, no help (where is there documentation on that and the HOTSPOT?).

In addition, out of the SLUMBER is a hit or Miss thing. I am to check EACH setting on all devices and power to ensure that the 1703 Option is NOT turned off during sleep, however returning most of the time that it does NOT immediately restore. Shortly after a short period is the will, other times I have to reconnect manually and rarely, NOTHING helps and I have to re - start.

Suggestions and help please? My computer is away from the router, but that other devices have NO problem. In addition, about the ONLY thing I can say is working properly is my Internet speed, which is 40Mbps down, 5Mbps upward, at least it's okay (but any connection above 40Mbps who would support).

  • Qualcomm, atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n wifi adapter problem

Hi, if I can connect to the internet, but after a bit, I'm disconnected from the network. When I have the Troubleshoot, it indicates that there is a problem with my card. It is not a problem with my network as all other devices work correctly.

I use Windows 8; my laptop is a Pavilion dv6 - 3284ca; my wifi adapter is qualcomm, atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n wifi adapt

Let me know if you need more information.

You can try a USB wireless adapter. If it works, which will restrict the cause root. If it doesn't, it will restrict the issue to a conclusion. There is not a lot of troubleshooting on the left that you don't want to, so I think that an adapter is a good idea.

  • Problems of internet connectivity with Dell Inspiron 7520 (1703 of Dell Wireless 802.11b/g/n 2.4 ghz)

    Hello

I bought a Dell Inspiron 7520 for a week now, and I had a strange problem with internet connectivity since then. First, wifi takes a lot of time to connect. After, I'm online, every 10 minutes my network access stops working completely. But if I click on the network icon in the toolbar, it starts working again, but it stops in the next 10 minutes, once again, and so on. If I try to fix connectivity problems, he always find and solve some in the network card or wireless, but then point again, after 10 minutes, or so, it happens again.

My network card is a Wireless Dell 1703 802.11b/g/n 2.4 ghz and I tried to update and to re - download the firmware, but nothing seems to fix.

What should I do to fix this?

Hello friends. Recently I came across the same problem identified by many with a Dell Inspiron 15R laptop 7520 with the Dell Wireless 1703 (Atheros chipset). After losing an entire afternoon and looking at forums and their complaints, I think that I found the solution to the problem (at least, here is running).

The laptop is connected to a router TP-Link TL-WR740N. The router is configured to run with a frequency of 20 or 40 MHz, making the switch automatically in the factory. The mobile card wireless driver is configured to work only with 20 MHz at the factory. But can be configured to work with two frequencies is adapted automatically. To do this, change the configuration (in Windows 7):

Start > Control Panel > Device Manager > network adapters > Dell Wireless 1703 802.11b/g/n (2,4 GHz) > click the Advanced tab > select 802.11n bandwidth. Change the value of Auto 20 MHz / 40 MHz.

Press OK and wait for to reconnect you.

    I hope this helps.
