• Suggestion for setting up a good secured router including wireless routers

  I've owned three routers LinkSys Wireless since May 2007: two WRT54G (V6 and V8) and my current V1 E3000.  All provided configuration options that can do if it is very difficult, if not impossible, for unauthorized access to my WiFi routers.

  All changes must then your system is connected to one of the router's Ethernet ports and not through WiFi due to the modification point #3 of "General Suggestions.

  All the elements in square brackets by "<>" are the titles of LinkSys Admin web pages or sections of web pages.  Don't forget to click "Save Settings" on a single web page before you go to another web page or your changes will be lost.

  Please note that not all pages of the LinkSys Router Web Admin can use the titles of Section-page/website such as used in this suggestion.

  Make sure you know MAC address and physics of your wireless adapter so that it will be necessary for the point #3 «Proposals WiFi»  Assuming that you have a Microsoft Windows-based system, use a 'Command Prompt' to issue command ' ipconfig/all' to determine the MAC address (aka physical) of your adapter WiFi wireless connected to a router.

  2. the MAC address filtering does nothing more. MAC addresses are always in the unencrypted part of wireless packet. Any attacker will immediately learn the MAC addresses of your wireless devices. It is absolutely useless in the means of security and cause problems as the best for you. Do not bother about the filtering of MAC addresses. It does not prevent attacks on your network as it is easily circumvented.

  Use WPA2 with AES and a password strong. That's all that is necessary to protect your wireless network.

  The rest is a joke for any aggressor and bothers you much more than the alleged assailant. If an attacker was able to decipher your network WPA2/AES the SSID of your network and MAC addresses are a free byproduct you will get during the cracking process...

  I use the bridge to sort media on a server. I've added keywords and and created the stackes with files.

  My brackets are in a 'server' that allow other users with Adobe Bridge to them used.

  I saw a difficult bug with my stackes. After fiews days of use, my batteries are removed.

  I know that this information is in the. BridgeSort file and this file are in the right place.

  My it comes this file is changed without my interference.

  Assuming with batteries removed you means that the files are still there, but no more in a pile?

  Batteries can be very delicate, and for some reason, they may disappear all or partly in one folder. I have this sometimes when the power quickly with the renaming of files or some other strikes. It is indeed very annoying.

  Also bridge is not officially supported on a network. It's very sad, but sometimes I can do weeks without unstacking groups themselves and suddenly went.

  For me, they are for saving space in the content window and can be easily restored. If rely you heavily on piles you better use a second security such as scoring or perhaps better keyword specialized to find their return.

• Malwarebytes - do I need anything else (security tips)

  Hello ladies and gentlemen, Apple Support Forums!

  I have a few questions about this great little Mac Mini on my desk. Coming from a Windows background, I have a bit of inherent paranoia that needs a bit of smoothing.

  I have read about the security of the Mac, on the defences of sandbox, Gatekeeper, never install suspicious applications etc. But I guess it's always better to have a scanner installed as well. Mac simplifies the sort to choose as my old Windows, Emsisoft Anti-Malware and Superantispyware programs do not provide versions of Mac.

  Malwarebytes is one of my classmates that comes with the Mac version. And howdy to how fast it scans. O_o compared to Windows 7 minutes 30 seconds.

  Norton was even crap in Windows and Avast, I have more confidence. Avira for Mac looks nice and simple.

  So my questions are the following:

  (1) do I need anything else besides that Malwarebytes and Avira? (And common sense, I got load of Windows security vulnerabilities...)

  (2) as I understand it, Windows malicious software may enter the Mac, but they are completely powerless to do anything, just hang out? Under no circumstances can they interfere with my Mac? So as long as I scan with Malwarebytes, all bad guys he finds are for Mac and trash from potential Windows that the rest is harmless anyway?

  Yes, Windows malware only will infect a Mac. Only concernis than if yo al; so to run Windows on your Mac.

  You must encrypt the drive with FileVault first. Then just delete. Apple now uses SSDS in most of their machines and these drives don't support secure erase.
