  Edit - whoops - look for the answer to Robert. Post of Glenn's SmartView, but Robert's response shows the response (0) in the add-in.

  What to put on the sheet database connection - this is where the add-in crashes. Unless define you ranges of the sheet to retrieve the worms, it will hit all cells on a worksheet and to throw an error unless you remove all the mistakes that you wouldn't do as so we never see the errors of any kind. • Required for each snap-in connection with software component excel port number

  We work closely with the excel add-in 9.3.1.2.7 and whenever we want to connect to a server (ESBSHFM102), we are obliged to add the port number (: 3000). It does not save in the list server to the login window, but only the name of the server.
  If you try to connect without especifying the port the following message appears: "Network error [10061]: unable to connect to [Esbshfm102:1423]." The client timed out, etc. "It seems like to try with another default port number (1423). Is there anyway to make the port number, we have recalled the name of the server in the list of servers?

  You need to upgrade to the add-in excel to 9.3.1.3 because it solves the following problem

• Error with software component TDM plug-in by using automation COM ImportFile

  A few years back when Hyperion introduced the Smart View add-in, I remember that the sales and marketing guys said that the add-in Essbase would be finally eliminated gradually and that Smart View it would replace as the best way to access the applications of Essbase\Planning\HFM.
  
  I can even see some of the presentations on this topic but a few years later, on the add-in Essbase is still there and there still a lot of people still using the Essbase snap.
  
  As such:
  1. I was wondering if anyone had ever seen any document (s) confirming that Smart View indeed was part of the strategic direction of the Oracle of add-ins for MS Office. It is just that I'm making some users to stop using the software component Essbase v9.3.x snap-in to lock & send data to some v9.3.x of the Essbase cubes in a planning application and tries to guide them towards the v9.3.1.6.x Smart View add-in instead, because it is part of the strategic direction of the Oracle.
  
  2 no matter which never encountered problems with users using the Essbase snap-in to lock and send data to the underlying Essbase cubes that are part of a planning application?

  SmartView is the strategic direction for Oracle. I saw that in a number of presentations. In fact, it has all new development on the typical add-in in a while. New functionality is added to smartview and extends beyond the range of products with OBIEE Hyperiion now as a source of smartview.

  The only issue I know with users making a lock and send from the typical add-in is a direct shipment does not impose the same restrictions, as do the planning forms. By that I mean send to correct overlaps, some security enhanced, etc., but functionaly it does not cause a problem and I mean my that it works and sends the data you request.

• Selection of members deliver Smart View 11.1.2.1.102

  Hello!

  I have a problem with several different cubes when you access the selection version Smart View 11.1.2.1.102 member function. The problem is related to 4 Essbase cubes, but among the 4 are two ASO & BSO.

  When I select the name of Dimension higher, more on the left and click on the selection of members, NO display names of members and the drop-down list is unavailable. As soon as the Dimension is moved out of the POV, I am able to see the list of full member. It also means that the Member who moved into the top, leftmost now has the issue of not being able to select all members (some dimensions are very well regardless of their position).

  I am able to move the members by rotating the dimension and the selection of member function behaves normally, for some, but the question pop backup as soon the dimension is moved to the position of POV.

  If anyone has encountered this before with SmartView problem and has a solution, please let me know. I'd be happy to clarify my question if anyone knows not what exactly I'm describing.

  There was a bug in 11.1.2.1.102. I don't know if it has been fixed in 11.1.2.1.103 or 11.1.2.2 (I think as 11.1.2.103)

  The error you see is probably due to files being not installed correctly. See if the fixes in this post on the forum help to solve the problem you are experiencing.

  When you open the microsoft management console, I noticed that I don't have the political group plug-in software component wizard.  I have however an another snap called "local users and groups.  The question I have is how I added to my system this add-in?  Or alternatively, group policies are supposed to be managed in my "local users and groups"?

  Group Policy management is available only on the Professional editions, full and Windows Vista Business edition. It is not available on Home Basic and Home premium editions of Windows Vista.

• Software component tab missing in 'Design' in vRA 7

  Can someone if you please confirm, either we get 'Software components' tab in minimal installation. My installation is complete, but the 'software ' current design component tab is not visible. I have either assigned appropriate roles "Software Architect" for the user.

  No, Essbase 6.5 and Excel 2007 are not compatible. Excel 2003 is the flavor of choice.

  I know there are operating functions, with members, strings, names of members... so that you are able to convert a string to a member (@MEMBER) and vice versa.
  
  But, is it possible to use a value of Member to select someone else?. For example, if in the account dimension, I'm a member of 'parent' with value '100'. Could I put a value, using the value '100' in the '100' member registered in 'parent' to select this member. So if its value is '200', I should put in '200' member.

  First, you insert the CDF, essbase server. in the zip file, you have a small description how draconian make zip archive contains a file bat with a script maxl who do all the work. then restart the essbase server and then a new list of functions should be available on the script calc under Group Editor "functions only the user".
