Go to start, right click on computer and select Properties. What is your product in system properties ID? OEM licenses will explicitly include the OEM in the product ID.

  • How to tell if Windows is for sale at retail or OEM?

I'm looking to install a new motherboard and processor in my PC, but I was told that the license for Windows 7 is assigned to the motherboard, so if I have an OEM version it will not work with the new parts. Unfortunately I lost my Windows 7 disc, if I still have the product key and product ID. Can someone tell me how I would know if my version is retail or OEM please? I heard that the OEM letters appear in the product ID, if it's an OEM version (which is not in my case), is that correct? Finally, as I have lost the disc, can I download a copy of Windows 7 and use my product key?

Thanks in advance for any help!

  • How to get windows using my oem product key

    Hello

I got windows 7 preinstalled on my computer, I formatted it

I need windows disk via my oem product key please tell me how

    Hello

The only legal Windows 7 download available is now Microsoft, as Microsoft has stopped DigitalRiver Windows 7 ISO downloads.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery

But Microsoft only provides these downloads for Windows 7 retail product key, not preinstalled OEM product keys (Dell, HP, etc.).

As you have licensed preinstalled OEM (Dell, HP, etc.), contact the manufacturer of your computer to order recovery media that they need to provide for a small fee, if it is still available.

Or you can also borrow the same exact retail edition DVD of Windows 7 and use your product key to reinstall.

  • XP Pro did NOT WPA, have an OEM product key number, but it will also not WGA

Yes, I got the dreaded no past WGA logo on a WIN xp PRO installation which is an authentic copy of HP (OEM). I tried ALL the usual suspects of MS to do accept and it simply won't. I get the message "the product could not be updated on your computer. This is perhaps due to technical difficulties or problems with network connectivity. Please contact Microsoft Support for further assistance. "I have and that's why I found myself here as usual because the site is for me simply a roundabout! It does not matter where to get on I get off at the same places!

So basically I think I'm wrong in saying we CAN change via the Regsitry key? BUT how is that what an all-round solution? Because HP is going because MS offer ANY help at all with an OEM product!

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.
Unfortunately, Windows Vista is not available for sales that Windows Vista has been replaced by Windows 7 and Windows 8 (mainstream support ended on April 10, 2012). As a result, he was arrested in SP1. But, the extended support is available until 2017, then you can find updates and SP2 is a part of this update.

    Hello

As Vista is preinstalled on your computer (OEM license), Microsoft charges you for support if you use them. They had good reason to send you to the Microsoft answers Forums

The way you must have Windows Mail put in place is to use the e-mail address and other parameters as your ISP (Internet Service Provider) gives you; not an e-mail address that you want to use.

They are the ones that provide all the information for you.

You need them: parameters Username, Password, mailserver and mail out Servier

Here is the information from Microsoft on how to set up Windows Mail:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/Windows-mail-setting-up-an-account-from-start-to-finish

You don't say which is your Internet access provider.

    Hello

Your laptop came with Windows 8 64-bit Core edition

It doesn't matter what you are currently using.

The product key of Windows 8 is integrated into the BIOS chip. B. I installed Windows 8.1 update in a few of my laptop Windows 8 using the tutorial.

This means that the reason why the method above does not work, or you didn't follow correctly, either the key of your BIOS is corrupted.

I suggest you follow the tutorial without delay. Download the media creation tool & later the edition appropriate Windows 8.1 ISO according to the edition of Windows 8 installed on your laptop. For example. Single language edition Core (SL) 8.1 Windows 64 bits.

Disable secure boot & enable in the BIOS:

  • Replace my motherboard now my retail Win 7 product key is blocked.

This machine works very well for about five years. Has decided to upgrade the MB, the Ram, the processor. After installation of my Windows 7, I went to activate online got message saying that my PK has been blocked. Tried the automated phone Activation, he says that this Transaction could not be completed at this time. Went on a Microsoft Help site and asked a Technical Support call. He told me simply that my PK has been blocked without reason. Today, I tried the activation of the automatic phone again but this time I waited for a live person and he said the same thing about the blocked KP should be I try MS Tech Support and that they would help me. I already went there that they did not help. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks
