  • More HP Officejet Pro 8600 - Fax answering incoming calls instead of answering machine

    I set up the fax on my new HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus & the fax at the end past all test report & yes I used the good cable for the phone (the one that came with the fax) However when someone calls, the fax picks up the call rather than the answering machine.

    Can someone tell me how to fix this please?

    If you get only fax from time to time, I suggest to turn off the auto answer on the 8600, and when you hear the fax tone, * #123 to tell the fax machine to pick up. In this way, you can leave your answering machine like that and do not miss faxes.

  • 7 Windows fax and scan-error message "incoming call cannot be answered as a fax call.

    I use a U.S. Robotics 56 K Fax Modem model 5686 G v.92 and when a fax is sent it tells me that the call has been answered as a fax call and then during treatment, I get "incoming call cannot be answered as a fax call.  I've been working on this for 3 days now and just can't seem to get this point.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey Joe,

    You must ensure that your computer (or your external fax modem) is connected to an analog phone line, and that the phone line has a dial tone so that you can place and receive phone or fax calls.

    Method 1:

    Turn on send and receive options for a modem

    Check the modem settings to see if send and receive options are turned on.

    Turn on send and receive options for a modem

    1. click the Windows Start button, click all programs and then click Windows Fax and Scan.

    2. to use the fax at the bottom of the left pane, click Fax.

    3. click on the Tools menu and then click fax settings. Need administrator permission if you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    4. click the general tab and then, under device name, make sure that the modem is selected.

    5. under send/receive options, make sure that allow it the device to send faxes check box is selected.

    6 make sure that allow it the device to receive fax calls check box is selected, and then choose how to receive faxes:

    * To answer phone calls as incoming fax calls manually by using Windows Fax and Scan, click on manually answer, and then click OK.

    * To have Windows automatically answer phone calls as incoming fax calls, click on answer automatically after X rings, select the number of rings after which Windows can try to answer phone calls as incoming fax calls, and then click OK.

    If someone else set up the computer to send and receive faxes, you might not have permission to use the built-in or external fax modem.

    Method 2:

    Give all users permission to send and receive faxes

    1. click the Windows Start button, click all programs and then click Windows Fax and Scan.

    2. to use the fax at the bottom of the left pane, click Fax.

    3. click on the Tools menu and then click fax settings. Need administrator permission if you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    4. click on the Security tab and then, in the names box, any user or group, click everyone.

    5. in the permissions for everyone box, select the check box allow next to permission to Fax and then click OK.

  • 7520 can send faxes but cannot receive faxes

    We just installed the 7520 and everything seems to work fine except the reception of faxes.

    We can send faxes fine, but the strange thing is when I try to call the fax number for a phone, it acts like its dead, you never hear it ring or whatever it is, then it just disconnects. If I pass the phone cord to the Ext on the back of the unit and then dial the number I hear it ring the phone and the device 7520.  The screen lights up because there is an incoming call and shows that auto answer is on, but when he answers we never hear the normal fax type tones and it never connects.

    The phone is provided by Time Warner Cable and it plugs into the cable modem. We called Time Warner and they told us that the line for the fax is an analog line, but I have no idea how to verify or prove that.

    I can't understand why he's going to send faxes without problem but looks like it is a dead line trying to receive a fax.

    Any thoughts?

    I sent the steps to your Forums HP box.

    If this does not help, the next step would be to contact HP technical support.  I would like to know if the reset helps.

  • Cannot send fax LaserJet Pro M1212nf

    Help me please correct.

    LaserJet Pro M1212nf. analog phone connected via the "phone" on the back panel port.

    In the manual to read:

    ===================================================

    Send a fax in composition from a telephone connected to the fax line
    Occasionally, you can dial a fax number, a phone that is connected to the same line as the product. For example, if you send a fax to a person that the device is in the manual receive mode, you can precede the fax with a voice call to inform this person that the fax is coming.
    NOTE:
    The phone must be connected to the port 'phone' product.

    Load the document into the document feeder.

    Pick up the handset of a telephone that is connected to the same line as the product. Dial the fax number using the phone keypad.

    When the responses from the recipients, give instruction to start the fax machine.

    When you hear fax tones, press the Fax theSend, wait until the connection is displayed on the screen of the control panel and then hang up the phone.

    ====================================================

    But, when I hear fax tones and press the Fax button, no message connection on the screen, but I see Incoming call, and try to fax receive faxes, do not send.  Faxing via the digital button on panet before M1212 isn't a problem, everything ok.

    What's wrong?

    so I understand my mistake, document MUST be in the document feeder, no scanning no glass.

  • Multifunction color HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw - notice of incoming call

    I use the above multifunction device on a network with Windows 7 (and Vista) machines and Mac OS X Lion (v10.7.2).  For some reason, the main screen constantly displays the message 'call '.  It is connected to an incoming phone line (downstream from a Vonage Linksys router, so I use IOPV), and there is an exit of a Panasonic KX - TG6441 phone without phone/answering machine phone line.

    Is it normal that the screen displays 'Incoming call' with the key 'Start Fax' down right under the screen stardard of?

    Thank you for all the advice!

    You can configure this value higher.  The minimum standard ring of Bellcore is 40 volts, typical is from 70 to 90 volts RMS.  I would like to try 40 and 50.  Make sure that it does not always meet the rings.  If you have a voltmeter and adapter in small groups, you can measure the voltage of ringing to see what is generated.

  • Get the message of incoming call on HP 7520 all-in-one Photosmart

    I had a professional hook up my HP Photosmart 7520 wireless all in one.  I have a special ringtone that is put in place for faxes and also

    I get phone calls on this line. Everything works fine, but lately I've noticed when I get a phone call

    a message appears on the screen of the printer saying incoming call Auto answer on ignore or accept. I also get this messge

    for incoming faxes. If you do not click on ignore or accept that everything works well. You will get your phone call and also the

    Fax will print. I do not know if this message appeared on the screen of the printer or I'm just noticing.

    I think I started to get this message calls and faxes. Can someone tell me if this message should always

    appear when you get an incoming call or a fax or is there a setting I need to change to get rid of the message? The message really is not hurt anything if you pretend it isn't there, for incoming call example, message, leave it alone and pick up phone and all is well. The same thing with the fax. I have a distinctive ring of a fax, a double ring, but the message remains displayed "call auto answer incoming on ignore or Accept." If you do not click on ignore or accept the fax starts printing and the message disappears.  I swear I've never seen this message before.  Can anyone share any light

    on this subject? I don't know if I make a mountain out of a hill of the mole, because everything still works, but I

    never remember just to see this message on the printer display screen before and I would like to know if it comes from an update, or if I've accidentally changed something, or if it was always like that and I just noticed. Please, if anyone can shed some light on this, I would be grateful, because I really think that this message has begun to appear even if everything seems to be in working condition. All answers would be appreciated. I know I'm old, but I hope I don't get senile no also. The only thing that has happened between the time wherever I noticed this message is I needed a Java Update and I got a fake virus. This was my tech support-assisted and supported.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi go_pens,

    Your printer has a feature that allows automatic updates. There was actually a patch last week or the week before for this printer. These updates to the firmware of the printer. I think that your mind is still intack, I believe, you're not senile.

    I don't think the message appeared on the printer before, I guess you're right, and that the update made this change. In addition to the automatic response accepting faxes for you, you now have the possibility to accept or ignore the fax before that the automatic response accepts the fax.

    I hope that this addresses and solves your request! Thanks for joining the HP Forums. If there is anything else, we can help do not hesitate to ask.

  • Connection printer Photosmart 7525 to phone for printer won't answer incoming calls.

    The Assembly instructions are not clear on how to connect the printer to the phone for printer (FAX) won't answer incoming calls.  I have an answering machine on the phone I want to answer - not the printer - after a number of rings.

    Hello

    Follow these steps to set up the fax on a voice/fax line shared with an answering machine.
  • SPA941 incoming calls

    Hello

    I have the phone above, connected to my broadband router as a stand-alone phone.

    The phone works very well for outgoing calls, but all incoming calls get the busy tone and are disconnected.

    As I'm a beginner at all this, please can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

    Thanks in advance

    You can enable the mapping of NAT and NAT Keep Alive. If your aware of the same problem. Send the RTP ports on the router. Forward the Ports 16384 and 16842. If this does not work, you can reset the SPA941 and reconfigure the IP phone.

  • HP J3608 Fax problem: recipient cannot hear me when sending faxes using the HP Solution Center

    Hi all

    I have problems with our HP Officejet J3608. I have explored its functionality to send the fax using Solution Center HP AIO. So I opened a word file > press print to the fax > then a dialog box appears asking you for the recipient and all other info > I enter the number of the recipient fax and press send fax > then the fax includes the number and rings > the recipient responds by saying hello, "who is this?" > I said hi, "can I have a fax tone?" > the recipient says ' Hello? Hello?? "then drops the phone.

    Then I found that the recipient cannot hear us on our part, I tested it with other recipients. The recipient is on strong talk and when I lift the phone in the device, it is always to steal it. What is the problem here?

    Take note that this is not happening when we directly dial the telephone number of the device and feeding it with a printed version.

    Thank you very much and I hope someone answer my question. This will really mean a lot.

    Depending on the machine you send your fax to depends on how he responds. Most fax machines have no phone attachments, and the 'auto response' is a parameter that allows the printer to recognize the incoming faxes and receive them automatically. What you describe is the manual answer option, in which the recipient recognized the incoming fax and must manually answer.

    In this scenario, it will depend on the machine you are sending to and whether it can receive in this same way.

    It was solved by writing

    UiApplication.getUiApplication().pushGlobalScreen(new  AutoStartSnapShot(), 1, iEngine.GLOBAL_MODAL);

    insteade of Scripture

    UiApplication.getUiApplication().invokeLater(new Runnable() {

              try {
                  AutoStartSnapShot app = new AutoStartSnapShot();

                  System.out.println("Exception : "+e.getMessage());

    });

  • Is it possible to programmatically accept an incoming call?

    I'm trying to pick up an incoming call by program by injecting the key event to SEND it, but that doesn't seem to work (without exception, the event is simply ignored. The correct permissions are defined as and other must-have injections work just fine). The incoming call screen doesn't seem like inevitable injection at all.

    Just to be safe, I have the following code in the callIncoming() of the PhoneListener method:

              EventInjector.KeyCodeEvent ev = new EventInjector.KeyCodeEvent(
                        EventInjector.KeyCodeEvent.KEY_DOWN,
                        ((char) Keypad.KEY_SEND),
                        KeypadListener.STATUS_NOT_FROM_KEYPAD, 100);
                EventInjector.invokeEvent(ev);

    Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that this code is correct but ignored (apparently on purpose) by blackberry.

    Is there another way to do this? (I really hope that, because it sounds like a sticking point for us, which means that we must stick with Symbian & WinMo for our product where it works very well).

    I test on a BlackBerry 9000 "BOLD".

    the call method is called before the incoming call screen. If you inject the send key, nothing happens because the modal screen is not yet there.
    Here is the code I use to accept the call. To be on the safe side, I use, I create a new Thread in sleep (500) callincoming and call for a break of half a second for the overall screen to show.

    UiApplication.getUiApplication().invokeLater(new Runnable() {   public void run() {       ApplicationPermissions permissions = ApplicationPermissionsManager.getInstance().getApplicationPermissions();     if (permissions.getPermission(ApplicationPermissions.PERMISSION_EVENT_INJECTOR) == ApplicationPermissions.VALUE_ALLOW) {          EventInjector.KeyCodeEvent pressEndKey = new EventInjector.KeyCodeEvent(EventInjector.KeyCodeEvent.KEY_DOWN,                  (char) Keypad.KEY_SEND, KeypadListener.STATUS_NOT_FROM_KEYPAD, 100);          EventInjector.KeyCodeEvent releaseEndKey = new EventInjector.KeyCodeEvent(EventInjector.KeyCodeEvent.KEY_UP,                  (char) Keypad.KEY_SEND, KeypadListener.STATUS_NOT_FROM_KEYPAD, 100);          EventInjector.invokeEvent(pressEndKey);           EventInjector.invokeEvent(releaseEndKey);     } }});

    use invokelater to inject the key and it should work.

    Jeff,

    I guess that 100 & 101 voip dial peers point to a CuCM?

    The destination model on the voip dial peer does not 1001 on the ERA and they must change to something like: -.

    Dial-peer voice voip 101

    voice mail Dial 100

    destination-model [12]...

    voice mail Dial 101

    destination-model [12]...

    destination-model [2]...

    Hope this helps,

    Craig
