Sequential (second) copy/print/scan all hang

This a HP Officejet 6310. On the functions that I tried on this printer, sequential operations fail before you need to power off/power on. Closure also blocks and I wind up needing to pull the plug.

The second scan fails with "canceled scan. The second copy will fail with an endless "" 1/1 "copy." The second printing will fail too. Tried it on Ubuntu 12.04 and W7. Sure the copy is made sublabel of BONE.

I guess it's some sort of error of memory? I tried the 6 # reset but still the same issue. Firmware problem?

This highlights usually either a problem with the power that becomes the printer, or a bug in the firmware. There is no update firmware, so all you can do is to make sure that the printer is powered as it should, and if it does not, try to reset the printer. Make sure that the printer is plugged directly into the wall. Using a surge protector, power strip, or backup power can interfere with the printer power connection. If it's okay, try reset below. If nothing works, you need to replace the printer.

To do a hard reset:
1. make sure that the printer is turned on.
2. pull on the power cord from the printer.
3. pull out the power cord from the wall.
4. wait for 30 seconds.
5. plug in the printer and turn it on.

To make a partial reset:
1. make sure that the printer is turned on.
2. pull on the power cord from the printer.
3. pull out the power cord from the wall.
4. wait for 30 seconds.
5. plug the power cord into the wall, but do not connect the printer.
6. press 3 and # buttons.
7. while now buttons, plug in the printer.
8. when the lights come on, release the buttons.

  • Impossible to copy and scan on all-in-one printer, HP Deskjet F4180.

I can't make a copy and scan on the surface of the glass of my printer HP deskjet F4180 all-in-one. The printer says: error in the copy menu and seeing red flashes on color and black. However, I am able to print from my laptop and a pop-up message would be in my laptop showing the ink cartridges (black and color) are placed incorrectly. Check the ink cartridges, both are in their right place and broken up. Need help... Please.

I found this document which decodes what mean flashing lights.  There are a lot of different codes described, but I found a heading "question: one or two of the lights blink check print cartridge" which seems to be what's going on your printer.  Basically it's saying that the cartridges are out of alignment or defective.  If the document is not help clarify, let me know and I'll see what I can find.

  • PSC 1210 all-in-one: hp psc 1210 order copy but scan and print

Until recently the copied PSC 1210, scanned and printed.  It copies is no longer in black & white, or rather when I press the copy button, the scanning starts and the printer prints a blank page.  Without moving anything, I can scan the document (Windows Fax and Scan) and print it using the same PSC 1210 and it prints perfectly.  A color copy prints a few characters in blue/green.  No recent change in hardware or software (other than the Microsoft updates).

    Hi @will-not-copy,.

Maybe the problem is related to the ink, especially the black ink. If I understand your description that you can scan and print again, but you are unable to copy. Copying and scanning use the same hardware components so ideally if we work so should the other. Copy and print using the same ink system so if you can print, you should be able to copy; However, the impression of the computer may produce a composite black, which means that the colors combine to make black, when copying the printer can pull out the black cartridge to produce black. That's what I mean when I say that the problem might have something to do with the he black cartridge.

I would like to print a self-test report to see if the printer hardware can produce black ink in stand-alone mode. To print a report, use the following steps:

    1. Load the plain, white paper into the paper tray.
  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium: Printer leaves black lines during copy and scan from ADF

I know this question has been asked several times, but whenever I try to copy or scan from the automatic document feeder, it leaves black lines on the copy (with the document on the works of glass like a charm).  I've read through the forums and have tried the advice to unplug the machine and so on, but none of these suggestions work.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Hey @Huskers1,

Welcome to the HP's Support Forum!

I see that you have some problems with a line when copying from the document on your Officejet 8600 Premium feeder e-all-in-one printer. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done:

    1. Get a little water and a lint cloth.
    2. Open the left upper part of the printer, where the document since the charger goes into the printer. It should open up as you opened a book.
    3. With your damp cloth wipe the rubber stamp, the rollers in the cover and the casters on the bottom of this section.
    4. Again open the left side of the printer, as you opened a book.
    5. With your damp cloth, wipe the rollers, you will find inside this section.
    6. Close the upper sections of the printer and open the flat section.
    7. With your damp cloth wipe the rollers and the white bar you see on top of the printer
    8. Clean the glass on the left side of the printer.

Once all the pieces you cleaned dry, please let me know the results. If you remove the line, click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • 5530 envy: Envy 5530 won't print, copy or scan

Red 'X' on the lower right part of the screen of the printer is on and printer no longer works. Checked the utility application and was advised that black cartridge that is low on ink. Change cartridge. Utility program says ok now all levels. Tried to align, but although the printer display says 'printing', 'X' red down and nothing happens. Tried to print, copy and scan with similar results. Printer says it works but nothing happens. Have restarted printer and computer (iMac) without success. HELP please.

There is no error message. The screen on the printer actually said 'impression' and the 'clock indicator' was renewable, but nothing was happening. When the operation has been cancelled and another operation selected is the same - no error message and everything seemed to happen normally, but nothing. Checked for paper and and cartridge jams - clear at all.

Repeated undo operation retry printing a certain number of times and after about the tenth time, no reason apparent, it printed! Check all the other functions - all normal. A overall good wifi connection.

Using the spooler to print under XP/Vista/7, is it possible to automatically get a second copy of each printed on a second printer print?

I have 2 printers connected to my PC and I want that all printed documents printed on both printers.

This free app says that it does what you want (even if I have not tried): http://www.pcounter.com/index.php?q=free-software/multiprinter-port

  • Print copying or scanning.

I have a HP Officejet Pro L7780 when I copy or scan the resulting page is filled with a broad black band. Most of the time, it is in the empty area where there is no image to copy, fill the empty area in black ink so that the paper is damp.

For copy/scan quality issues there are a few things to try.

    * Hard Reset the product: disconnect the power cord while the unit is turned on, unplug the other end of the power cord from the power source, wait 30 seconds and plug power back.

    * Make sure the scanner glass is clean.  The document below the link has instructions on how to clean up the area to scan.

    * Is unit plugged into a surge protector or a direct wall outlet?  Try to connect on a direct plug for the power of the printer and see if the problem clears.

Also, check out the document is located here.  I hope this helps.

  • C6280 All in with Mac OS x can not copy or scan

I can't copy or scan. on my 6280 C all in one.  I use Mac OS x 10.7. It worked, but now all I get is a sheet with all the gray-black ink which resembles what happens if you leave the cover upward. This seems printed on or in the preview copy and scan on the copying and scanning previews - scans show a test of color along the edge.  I can print from my computer.

I tried most of these steps.  Because it would not copy or scan it look like lamp or sensor was out. So I got a new all-in-one HP at Costco.  To still get advice ho to replace light would cost $25 at HP as it was not under warranty, as well as any necessary parts.  New one is $99.

Thank you very much! PROBLEM SOLVED.  It's really cool to have this forum available! BRAVO!

Which models current hp print/scan/copy the image mirror/back print features that I will only use the function of copy, not connected to a pc or any network and need only the mirror image?

    Hi timjady,

As much as I know there is no printer currently in-process which has a mirror of the functions copy image option. Usually this function would be in the printer or the program driver settings that you use for print transfers.
