Print copying or scanning.

I have a HP Officejet Pro L7780 when I copy or scan the resulting page is filled with a broad black band. Most of the time, it is in the empty area where there is no image to copy, fill the empty area in black ink so that the paper is damp.

For copy/scan quality issues there are a few things to try.

* Hard Reset the product: disconnect the power cord while the unit is turned on, unplug the other end of the power cord from the power source, wait 30 seconds and plug power back.

* Make sure the scanner glass is clean.  The document below the link has instructions on how to clean up the area to scan.

* Is unit plugged into a surge protector or a direct wall outlet?  Try to connect on a direct plug for the power of the printer and see if the problem clears.

Also, check out the document is located here.  I hope this helps.

My c410 HP Premium Fax e-all-in-one won't copy (white spell page), only prints in faded gray even when the quality is set to 'best', will only print up and part side of page - excludes the middle of the page and analyze only a portion of the document.  A new black ink cartridge has been installed in a couple of weeks.  Supply levels say the black is full, all the color is 3/4 full and the photo ink is full.  The printer has been idle for a few weeks - I had to restart it returning to work, because he wouldn't (and is often not) respond to print requests.

  • Can my HP Deskjet 3520 e-all-in-one printer/copier/Scanner "scan to file"?

All HP printers/copiers/scanners scan so I can create a file on my laptop for what is copied?  I think buying a refurbished, given that all previous HP scanner/copiers/printers worked without problem.  I replaces one that I bought about 9 years ago. Thank you!

    Hello

Scan and copy are two different functions: to the scan function, you can save scanned images/files to your computer and to copy funtion, it copies and gives you on the discharge papers. Back to your question: Yes, it can create and save files to your computer using the scan function.

  • hp6700 not copy or scan

HP6700 used to print, copy and scan.  Now it only prints.  I run Win7 64 bit OS.  Printer using a wireless connection.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, update the firmware and run HP Print and Scan doctor.  Still no luck.  Doctor scan gives message "scanning driver is unable to communicate with the product."  I disconnect and reconnect the printer, rebooting, no luck.

When I launch analysis console printer, I get the message on computer, "communication scanner cannot be established.  I tried to scan as a PDF and JPG... same result.  I tried to scan to USB... endless loop.

When I try to copy from the console, I don't receive any message.  Justs printer is located in the loop displaying "copy preparation.

WIA is started.  RPC is started.  Hardware detection kernel is started.  I ran the update... everything is up-to-date.

I tried scanning with firewall and McAfee firewall disabled... same result.

    I'm out of ideas.

I assume by 'printer console' you mean that the control panel with the LCD screen on the printer? If the copy fails, it would mean that the problem is at the printer, has nothing to do with the computer, or the network or usb, because in a copy job, none of that is involved. The common element in the scanning and copying is the scanner, check so first to scan, when you start copying or scanning, see the lights come on and moving through the glass? If this isn't the case, the scanner is dead or a cable may be loose.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium: Printer leaves black lines during copy and scan from ADF

I know this question has been asked several times, but whenever I try to copy or scan from the automatic document feeder, it leaves black lines on the copy (with the document on the works of glass like a charm).  I've read through the forums and have tried the advice to unplug the machine and so on, but none of these suggestions work.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Hey @Huskers1,

Welcome to the HP's Support Forum!

I see that you have some problems with a line when copying from the document on your Officejet 8600 Premium feeder e-all-in-one printer. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done:

    1. Get a little water and a lint cloth.
    2. Open the left upper part of the printer, where the document since the charger goes into the printer. It should open up as you opened a book.
    3. With your damp cloth wipe the rubber stamp, the rollers in the cover and the casters on the bottom of this section.
    4. Again open the left side of the printer, as you opened a book.
    5. With your damp cloth, wipe the rollers, you will find inside this section.
    6. Close the upper sections of the printer and open the flat section.
    7. With your damp cloth wipe the rollers and the white bar you see on top of the printer
    8. Clean the glass on the left side of the printer.

Once all the pieces you cleaned dry, please let me know the results. If you remove the line, click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

    Hello Citimba,

On the main screen on the printer, press return, cancel, back, back button successively. You see Help menu, press the ok button, then use top / down arrow button to find the menu reset, reset complete semi selection and press the ok button.

It's troubleshooting last step which I recommend. If this does not solve your problem unfortunately you will need to replace the printer.

  • PSC 1210 all-in-one: hp psc 1210 order copy but scan and print

Until recently the copied PSC 1210, scanned and printed.  It copies is no longer in black & white, or rather when I press the copy button, the scanning starts and the printer prints a blank page.  Without moving anything, I can scan the document (Windows Fax and Scan) and print it using the same PSC 1210 and it prints perfectly.  A color copy prints a few characters in blue/green.  No recent change in hardware or software (other than the Microsoft updates).

    Hi @will-not-copy,.

Maybe the problem is related to the ink, especially the black ink. If I understand your description that you can scan and print again, but you are unable to copy. Copying and scanning use the same hardware components so ideally if we work so should the other. Copy and print using the same ink system so if you can print, you should be able to copy; However, the impression of the computer may produce a composite black, which means that the colors combine to make black, when copying the printer can pull out the black cartridge to produce black. That's what I mean when I say that the problem might have something to do with the he black cartridge.

I would like to print a self-test report to see if the printer hardware can produce black ink in stand-alone mode. To print a report, use the following steps:

    1. Load the plain, white paper into the paper tray.

I can't make a copy and scan on the surface of the glass of my printer HP deskjet F4180 all-in-one. The printer says: error in the copy menu and seeing red flashes on color and black. Check the ink cartridges, both are in their right place and broken up. Need help... Please.

I found this document which decodes what mean flashing lights.  There are a lot of different codes described, but I found a heading "question: one or two of the lights blink check print cartridge" which seems to be what's going on your printer.  Basically it's saying that the cartridges are out of alignment or defective.  If the document is not help clarify, let me know and I'll see what I can find.
