  Yes, you do. Serial numbers are Mac only or Windows only. As you have discovered, you can't use a serial number of Mac on Windows (and vice versa).

  You can do a platform Exchange to put the serial number of your Mac and get a serial number of Windows instead.

  If you have CS6, which doesn't seem to be the case, then you can request an Exchange platform.  Something older than CS6 is not eligible.  You can buy CS6 at an upgrade price, if you have CS5 or newer.
