Server Windows 2012 - best practices to create the template

On Windows 2012, has anyone created models for this OS (VM)?

If so, what services did you remove, disable or install or what changes did you make to create a model of 'Base '?

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thank you

We have plenty of 2012, immediately, but I have bookmarked the blog post below it... looks pretty good

  • where to find the download for 11.2.0.4 Oracle client, Server Windows 2012

    Hi all

I was instructed to install 11.2.0.4 32 and 64-bit clients to Server Windows 2012.

I can't find the download page for the latter.

    https://support.Oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocumentDisplay?_afrLoop=535798508932133 & ID = 1231433.1 & _afrWindowMode = 0 & _adf. CTRL-State = 8qqh4jwyv_58

States that, fortunately, we can now use 11.2.0.4 32/64 bit client with 2012 (but does not tell us where!)

    So will OTN...

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/database/Enterprise-Edition/downloads/index.html

I don't see anything for 11.2.0.4 it - only 11.2.0.1, but 11.2.0.1 is not supported in Windows 2012

Please, if anyone can direct me to the right page, I would be really grateful.

  • Problem installing VMWare Workstation on a Server Windows 2012

    Hello

I have problems when trying to install VMWare Workstation on a Server Windows 2012. Windows Server is Amazon EC2 environment and a generic image extended release.

The problem is that the installtion process fails because of "Hyper-V" during installation, but after investigating the option "Remove roles and features" I can see that it is not installed.

Is there any fixes for this issue?

I enclose three screenshots for you pleasure.

    Regards, Ray...

    Hello Ray,

Welcome to the VMware community forums.

You run an EC2 instance that has just 615 MB memory installed?

It's kind of a weird for a host, much too low for Amazon memory configuration, even be profitable.

I think that your server is running UNDER Hyper-V, for example. It is probably a Virtual Machine.

You can easily check that yourself by running the script from this site:

How Hyper-V to: detect if you are inside a virtual machine

If it's a Hyper-V virtual computer then I don't think you can install VMware Workstation on the virtual machine and run the nested clients.

You could do the opposite (invited running hyper-V in a workstation virtualized on vSphere) but is not very fast.

As you have no control over which platform virtualization Amazon use for their windows servers, I'm afraid you will have to go for a dedicated server instead of a virtual machine.

    Hope this helps,

    1. most bearing the name of choice in parent list values and related lookup has been changed in the main list of the external application, so the same should be updated in CRMOD.

2 to update the value of the list of choices, do we need to DISABLE the existing value and CREATE a new list of selection.

    3. are there best practices to avoid the manual pick list Cascading draw for the record type account? because we have about 500 values in list dropdown to map with parent and related list of choice.

    Thank you!

Mahesh, I recommend disabling the existing values and create new ones. This means that the remap manually cascading dropdown lists.

  • What is the best way to create the USER variable in BI applications?

I just installled BI Apps and try to integrate EBS R12 with OBIEE 11 g

We have the USER variable that is already defined in the RPD to BI applications.

In the security context init EBS block, I need to set the USER variable, but when I would define it it... He said * 'USER' has already been defined in the variable "authentication." "" USER. "

What is the best way to create the variable USER security context of EBS init block?

    (1) remove the existing USER variable and then set a new (in this case, all the places where the variable USER is getting used to the RPD would become < missing >)
And told me that he shouldn't do.

Let me know how it is possible.

    Thank you
    Ashish

Disable the existing Init block and then double-click the USER variable and press NEW to create the new Init block

    Thank you

  • What are the best practices for creating only time data types, and not the Date

    Hi gurus,

We use 12 c DB and we have a requirement to create the column with datatype of time only, if someone please describe what are the best practices for the creation of this.

I would strongly appreciate ideas and suggestions.

    Kind regards
    Ranjan

    Hello

How do you intend to use the time?

If you are going to combine with DATEs or timestamps from a other source, then an INTERVAL DAY TO SECOND or NUMBER may be better.

Will you need to perform arithmetic operations on time, for example, increase the time to 20%, or take an average?   If so, the NUMBER would be preferable.

You are just going to display it?  In this case, DAY INTERVAL in SECONDS, DATE or VARCHAR2 would work.

    As Blushadow said, it depends.

  • Best practices to upgrade the Windows operating system

    Hi all

I'm looking to improve vSphere Essentials Plus 4.1 to 5.5 in the near future. The vCenter Server and DB, is currently hosted on the Windows 2003 Server operating system on a physical server. I need to upgrade this server, Win2008 R2 until I can enhance vCenter to 5.5. What is the process for this task to upgrade using the same physical server?

  • Best practices to create diagrams for mounting of the EMP

    Hi all

What is advised to create patterns for EMP installation and configuration if you use Oracle for EMP data.

    1. create the dedicated tablespace and table Temp space dedicated for each schema

    or

    2. create a dedicate tablespace and dedicates space temporary table for all schemas and another separate for HFM schema.

    or

    3. just use default tablespace and a tablespace temp.

    Kind regards

    Dattatray Mate

It's like I said products like FM, FDMEE, DRM and perhaps RAF depending on what happens to be stored should be considered for there own tablespace, other products, not so and can be combined in say a tablespace.

These are all just guidelines and there is no good answer.

    See you soon

  • Best practices for storing the Logs of the system for all newly improved ESXi hosts?

    Hi people,

What are the options and best practices for the Logs of the system for all newly improved 5.1u1 ESXi hosts?

Do I need to have the Syslog server or it can be safely ignored?

    Thank you

    Evening,

Syslog is preferred, but VMware has provided a collector of syslog on the vcenter installation disc can be installed on any windows host or your vcenter. I can't count the number of times where I had guests CMTF or newspapers lost... Fortunately for the syslog which collects up to the accident.  It is not necessary, but it's really a good idea without any real cost since you can use your vcenter host.

Here is an article on how to install it:
