Service pack 1 download problem

I need to install Service Pack 1 on my Windows Vista computer, but it is no longer available through Windows updates? I only have a 32-bit system and it doesn't seem to be a download option stand alone for this.

Don't know what to do next! Thanks for any help.

Guess I should buy Service Pack 2 while I'm there because I'm having the same problem.

  • service pack 2 download the 8007371C error message

What should I do to get this service pack to download? Suggestions please. I tried 3 times now and has failed every time.

The only thing I can say is that you perform a repair - installation

Run a repair installation will restore the current installation of Windows to the version of the installation DVD. This also requires the installation of all the updates that are not included on the installation DVD.

Note Run a repair installation will not damage files and applications that are currently installed on your computer.

To perform a repair of Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 installation, follow these steps:

    1. Close all applications and restart the computer.
    2. Insert the Windows Vista DVD or Windows Server 2008 DVD into the DVD drive of the computer.
    3. In the settings window, click install now.

Note If Windows does not automatically detect the DVD, follow these steps:

      1. Click Start and type Drive: \setup.exe in the box start the search .

Note The placeholder drive is the drive letter of the computer's DVD.

      2. In the list of programs , click Setup.exe.
      3. In the settings window, click install now.
    4. Click connect to get the latest updates for installation (recommended).
    5. Type the CD key if you are prompted to do so.
    6. Click Yes to accept the Microsoft software license agreement.
    7. On the which type of installation do you want? of the screen, click upgrade.
    8. When the installation is complete, restart your computer and try to install the updates again

NB: As you already have SP1 for Vista - step 7 (method for Windows Vista), the * UPGRADE option is not available because SP1 has been installed. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/948537

Make sure that you back up your important things first. Then run Windows Update to catch up on all the updates up to SP2.

When you're offered SP1 install, then continue until you're offered SP2 and then install it. I hope that all is well.

    Uninstall SP1

    Hi Berto5097,

Thank you for using Microsoft Vista answers Forum!

The following are possible causes of this problem:

    ·         A program on your computer interfered with the installation of the service pack.

    ·         There is an inconsistency in the store of Windows services. The store Windows maintenance is a required component to install service packs.

  • Windows Vista Service Pack 2 installation problem

I am having major problems installing service pack 2 on windows Vista on a Dell Inspiron from 32-bit. It returns the 8007000D error code.

I tried the PC back to factory settings, removing the anti-virus and the deactivation of some things non-nessasary start up with msconfig. Also, I have disabled all the wireless devices using a switch on the side of the laptop - it seems that would enable me to install service pack 1.

Even with all the foregoing it always fails and recommends the system "Update system tool" update running. I have run, restart the computer and run the SP2 and it does not always work with the same error message.

The only other methods recommended to install must remove antiviris and other programs that I've done so I don't know what to do!

    Help, please!

    Thank you

    Matthew

    Robear,

    Thanks for your reply.

I looked at the link (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947366) and went through all the troubleshooting guide without success. With my current attempts to install SP2 (after the return to factory settings), I remove McAfee from the computer (that came with it as default) and then install the service pack SP1 and SP2 by using the stand-alone installation programs by downloading from another computer.

Thank you for give me the Microsoft technical support link, that I had read on another thread that the free support is exhausted.

I will try to sue microsoft and come back here if I have any luck!

    Thank you

    Matthew

  • XP Service Pack 3 download

I thought I had solved this a few weeks ago, but obviously not...

    Automatic updates keep informing me that SP3 is available. It downloads and installs fine, but restart the computer, the following message is displayed;

We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this.

If your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly or has been automatically closed down to protect your files and folders, select last good known to return to the setting Configuration most recent works.

If a previous startup attempt was interrupted due to a power outage because the power or reset button has been activated, or if you are not sure what caused the problem, choose Start Windows normally.

    Safe mode

    Safe mode with networking

    Safe mode with command prompt

Last good Configuration known (your most recent settings that work)

    Start Windows normally

This last option is automatically highlighted and if left to himself, countdown and restart constantly, back to the above message each time.

Last known good Configuration did the same thing.  Didn't try the Mode safe mode with setting in network or command line that I have no idea where it would take me.

I just go to Safe Mode and restart from a set Point earlier.  I tried Mr. Fixit and all the other suggested links, but can not solve this problem.

The computer is a 2nd hand Compaqu Presario and I deleted all the games that the previous owner had loaded, but there may be settings still there that cause this problem, even if I have restarted with factory settings, redownloaded SP2 and Microsoft office etc.

    It's that SP3 installs?

If so, I apologize for the missing something, I normally ask.
I thought that for some reason any you were trying to use the automatic updates or Windows Update using SP2.
However, in case your Compaq (HP) PC with an AMD processor, you really need to check out these links:

  • Service Pack update and problems w / IE

I got a notification of update of the week last for a new service pack.  It took hours to update and when it was finally over I had the latest version (I think) of Internet Explorer.  Since the update, I had any other problems.  Error messages are constantly upward (Internet Explorer does not work - or something like that), some Web sites (e.g., Pogo) rise in blocks or stop completely.  How do I either fix this or uninstall this service pack for me where I was.  I was starting to not be able to go to some sites because of IE not updated, but it was much better than this!

Windows Vista has not had a new service pack in more than three years.  Service Packs do not have (historically) come bundled with new versions of Internet Explorer.  That's the different updates.

    Hi racechasser,

Thank you for using the answers.microsoft.com forum.

.  .  Please download the service pack again. It may have been a corrupted download.p >

You can ensure that a download manager is used for this process, so not yet of corruption that happens.   Search live.com or your search engine preferred download manager and select the one sure what you will find.

Another way to look at this question is to get information of the event viewer on the failure that occurred.  To review event viewer / click on the ORB Start / computer right click / Select manage / select event viewer.

Find the information in Event Viewer on the failure of the update installation and provide this information on the forum.  As well as if there is an error, you receive what it is and ID # is.

  • Product key required for Windows XP Service Pack 2 download.

I had to back up my data and reinstall Windows, yesterday. I downloaded Windows XP Service Pack 2 installation network for IT professional and developers using Dell's Support Package. Everything seemed to be working fine until I opened a Word 2002 document and asked for a product key. I ran Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool and product key turns out to be xxxxx-xxxxx-GD6GR-K6DP3-4C8MT. What can I do?

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on the computer (for example, a test free version comes preinstalled when you buy it and that would have been reinstalled, but invalid, when you reinstalled Windows)?

  • Service Pack 2 installation problem

    It's very strange.

    1. the laptop is a Sony where install a Vista - 32-bit clean has been made some time ago, in Portuguese, because he's my friend of the Brazil.

    2. the properties of the computer says that it has installed ServicePack 1.

    3. the update of windows to install service pack 2

    4. I run the SP2 Setup and it is said that it has been installed.

    5. I reboot the computer, check the properties of the computer and it says it has SP1 (not SP2).  and the windows icon appears and says that SP2 is ready to be installed.  So, I ran the installation again and I get the same results.  I did cela 10 times and still the same result.

    6. I download SP2 (all languages - 32-bit version) to my computer so I can try to install it in this way.  When I do that, it gives me a message that SP1 must be installed before installing SP2.  (can you believe it?)  So, just for grins, I download SP1, run the install.  The message that I get when I do this, it is that SP1 is already on my computer.  (ouch)  Now, apparently, there was disagreement with SP1 and SP2 are reports even if the properties of my computer that I already have SP1 installed.  Now I am frustrated and laughing.

    7. so, I ran the CMD Scannow program that someone suggested here and he said that he corrected certain errors.  I ran also register and frag clean disk.  I restarted my computer and see what happens.  Does anyone have suggestions more?

    Thank you

Try first with Safe Mode, see the link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode this applies to Vista or you can see the Vista Help for this topic.

You can try this, if safe mode does not work, clean boot, it event all other programs and services.
