set password connecting to Oracle db server / as sysdba

10.2.0.3.0

Hi, we have a linux db server, and oracle (dba and oinstall group) user can connect / as sysdba without giving any password.
I created the orapwd file and changed REMOTE_LOGIN_PASSWORDFILE = exclusive in the init.ora file but still, if anyone is in the dba group, it can connect without providing a password.
Can you please tell me how can I succeed to all users of OS that arises for the password, even if they belong to the dba group?

Thank you

The behavior you describe is normal and experted. By default members of the Oracle Home directory structure owner group can connect as sysdba and can avoid the need to use a valid password from sysdba users actually connect as user sys.

If you do not want to allow this then must have installed Oracle with one group other than oinstall DBA and then not assigned any OS users to this group.

    Hello, I am writing to inform you all to say that I found the solution. In any case, I saw there were some messages saying to change the version of Java on the client side I made, but did not work. But the solution I've found is as explained below.

    There are some parameters in the Java on your computer to be modified in order to use it.

    • Go to the control panel.
    • Select Java.
    • After the control panel opening Java go to move the tag.
    • Disable the Java plug-in to uncheck 'enable the plugin from new generation... '. ' as shown below
    • Apply the changes and restart the browser.
    • URL will work.

    Hello

    I think to remember Grant in our team had a similar problem, it has been tracked down. In the meantime you can try and set the connection of the ADF BC to the J2EE data source?

  • How to make connection to Oracle JDeveloper IDE UCM?

    I am trying to connect to Oracle Content Server to my JDeveloper IDE. I found searching it can be done through the following steps:

    1) click on the resources application on the widget side of left hand.
    Right on 2) by clicking on connections , a new connection menu opens upwards.
    Select 3) Content Repository in this menu.

    But in my case I do not get the Content Repository option in the menu new connection . Many other options is also missing. Is there a problem with my installation of JDeveloper. How can I get this option in the menu of new connections ? Can anyone help with this?

    Thanks in advance

    Yes, correct, let me know the result...

  • Connect to Oracle greeted the workspace APEX

    What the method (i.e. good tnsnames entry or whatnot) to connect to Oracle, greeted the workspace APEX?

    I prefer to use a standalone IDE to develop objects db that an application uses and am trying development APEX 4 on a hosted apex.oracle.com workspace. I can't find documentation on how to connect to one of them hosted cases, however.

    Thank you

    Hello

    If I understand correctly, do not connect apex.oracle.com server SQL net port and use some SQL client.
    Only available option is to use the Apex generator

    Kind regards

    The problem was solved after I gave CPP (9703) BI server instead of normal to the port port (9704).

  • I want to log on without password to the oracle server

    I want to log on without password to the oracle server.

    by administrator user that I have installed the oracle database with that I can login without password, but by another user that I just can't!

    in windows server to oracle! a group with the name "oradba" exists in the windows group.

    any user who join the group to oradba can connect without a password

  • Connect to the remote server without giving the SYSDBA password

    Hi, I would like to backup RMAN script running from a catalog server using the windows scheduled task backup target running on the remote computer.

    Is there a way I can connect to the remote machine target without giving the password in the script?

    Server catalog and target server are 11.2.0.3

  • Connection to Microsoft SQL Server 2008 from Oracle 11 g

    Hello

    I'm working on a requirement to connect from Oracle 11 g DB for Microsoft SQL Server 2008. After serching for the options available on the web I found the follwing link

    Connectivity ODBC - http://www.dbapool.com/Articles/06280701.html using UNIX ODBC and FreeTDS

    I have configured everying as stated in the article, but I'm stuck to test the connection.

    Isql both tsql not working and giving the below error.

    locale is "" fr_FR. UTF-8 ".
    locale charset is 'UTF-8 '.
    using the set of characters by default "UTF-8".
    Error 20009 (9 severity):
    Unable to connect: Adaptive Server is unavailable or does not exist
    Operating system error 111, 'connection refused '.
    There was a problem connecting to the server

    $ isql - v mstest
    [S1000] [unixODBC] [FreeTDS] [SQL Server] Unable to connect to the data source
    [S 08, 01] [unixODBC] [FreeTDS] [SQL Server] Impossible to connect: Adaptive Server is unavailable or does not exist
    [ISQL] ERROR: Not impossible not SQLConnect

    Here are my files.

    FreeTDS.conf

    [MSTEST]
    Host = 19.x.x.x
    #instance = xxx
    port = 614xx
    TDS version = 8.0

    ODBC.ini

    [MSTEST]
    Driver = TDS
    Description = MS SQL Test
    Trace = Yes
    Trace file = /tmp/mstest_odbc_ini.log
    Server = 19.x.x.x
    #Servername = xxxx
    Address = 19.x.x.x
    Database = multilingual
    TDS_version = 8.0
    Port = 614xx

    odbcinst.ini

    [TDS]
    Description = FreeTDS driver
    Driver = /usr/local/lib/libtdsodbc.so
    Setup = /usr/local/lib/libtdsodbc.so
    Trace = Yes
    Trace file = /tmp/freetd.log
    FileUsage = 1

    Has anyone tried this before... Any help is very appreciated.

    Thank you
    Steve.

    I tried and it worked. What's in your trace files? You specified two different, both files in / tmp. Journal will be in one of them. Please, view the contents of the log file. In addition, the problem may be with the SQL Server. ODBC 20009 error is "error of numerical value": http://www.wiki-errors.com/err.php?wiki=20009

  • Default connection to the Oracle shared server

    We are currently trying to use the server shared on an Oracle 11.1.0.7 server standard edition.

    We have no problem with the settings or performance. We can connect with a dedicated or shared connection.

    Our problem or issue is with tnsnames.ora.

    DRAMA =
    (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = X.X.X.X)(PORT = 1521))
    )
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = orcl)
    )
    )

    We don't identify if this connection is shared or dedicated. Default login is dedicated and we want to force users connect to a shared server connection.
    It would be really useful to avoid having to go customer by customer at the remote sites. We don't have any tool for centralized management to modify the file (and not on remote sites).

    We could, of course, apply to distribute a new file, but given that each client is unique, it could be risky.

    Try to use SERVICE_NAME instead of SID in tnsnames.ora and make sure that this service is mapped to a dispatcher in init of the database. file.
    Example with the 11.2.0.1:

    1. setting of DISPATCHERS

    SQL> show parameter dispatchers

    NAME                                 TYPE        VALUE
    ------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------------
    dispatchers                          string      (PROTOCOL=TCP) (SERVICE=DB112XDB)
    max_dispatchers                      integer

    2 TNSNAMES. ORA:

    $cat tnsnames.ora
    DB112 =
     (DESCRIPTION =
       (ADDRESS_LIST =
         (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = lx01.localdomain)(PORT = 1521))
       )
     (CONNECT_DATA =
       (SERVICE_NAME = DB112XDB)
     )
    )

    3. test with SQL * more:

     sqlplus  system/xxx@DB112 @tss

  • Connection from Oracle to Sql Server (64-bit on Windows 2003)

    Hello

    I want to install heterogeneous connectivity between our Oracle 10 g version 10.0.2.0.1 (on 64-bit Windows 2003) to a SQL Server on another computer on the network. I found that HSODBC is removed, and that this is is not supported on 64-bit Windows systems. So, I couldn't make it work obviously.

    It is even possible to set up a heterogeneous connectivity in our situation (using DG4ODBC or something?)
    If so, could someone point me in the right direction on where to start?

    Thank you!

    (I'm not a dba, previous attempt using hsodbc cost me two weeks before finding out that it doesn't even work...)

    Edit:
    Oh, and it is possible to display the Metalink notes as (Metalink Note: 361676.1, is generic connectivity available on The LINUX or Windows 64 - bit Platforms?) without a support contract? Or only customers with a support contract have the right to know that some features are not available?

    According to your last update, your actions are:
    1.) upgrade Oracle on SERVER1 to 10.2.0.4.0-online Yes
    2.) DG4ODBC is not certified to run on SERVER1, then I should install on SERVER2 tell you? That there is no installed Oracle... ?
    Yes, install it on the server of SQL Server 32-bit.

    The gateway comes with a complete Oracle SQL * Net listener. Just so install the 32-bit to SQL Server and configure the Oracle listener as well as the bridge and the ODBC driver.
    Now on the Oracle database server adds a TNSNAMES file. Entry of ORA that points the listener to the Oracle of the gateway on the SQL Server computer. The link of database within the 10 g, which oracle databased then connects using tnsnames.ora alias in the SQL Server computer that has an active Oracle listener that generates connection DG4ODBC. DG4ODBC executable load DG4ODBC configuration file and connects to SQL Server you have configured.

    The Oracle gateway are very flexible. You don't need to install them on the Oracle database machine. They can be installed independently; even on a 3rd machine if you do not want to touch the SQL Server computer. In this case, the scenario is similar as described above; only difference now is the driver ODBC to connect to a SQL Server computer on a remote host.

  • Can not connect to the Oracle application server management page

    Hello

    I installed Oracle Application server 10g (10.1.2) on Solaris server.

    I can connect to host the server Apps page

    http:// < xxxx >: 7777 / - it works.

    However, I am not able to connect to the control page
    There is a link to it on the right side of the home page.
    "
    To manage and monitor Oracle Application Server, connect to Oracle Enterprise Manager 10 g Application Server Control:
    "username: ias_admin"

    http:// < xxxx >: 1156 / - it don't work -

    What could be the problem?

    Thank you

    Default password for user 'oc4jadmin! I'm not aware of this user in 10.1.2.x, maybe there's one of OC4J side but not otherwise. If you are looking for credentials to connect to OracleAS controls (EM), the username is "ias_admin" and password is the one you specified during the installation. There is no default password.
