Set up the Win 7 Pro version

Hello
In an old model of office that runs in Windows XP, with which it has been filled originally I now want to put Win 7 pro version on this. Don't you think that it will be fine with all the drivers in the original operating system?

Thank you & Best Regards,.

  • Recovery disk - WIN 8 PRO version

    Hello everyone

Pls forgive me, but I'm new here. ALSO many FRUSTRATED by this 'State' I'm in.

    (1) > = story I bought a HP ENVY laptop (not touch smart) of HP OUTLET store in December 2013. Yes, it was cheaper and come with a 90 DAY warranty. Teh laptop was not delivered until Dec. 24 and not received until December 29, 2013.

    (2) > unpacking, we noticed that the laptop = BOOK WITH BATTERY INSTALLED ((généralement les ordinateurs portables sont livrés avec batterie dans le compartiment séparé-c'est quand nous avons remarqué que le LOQUET de la BATTERIE (batterie grosse dans notre cas) was BROKEN and a small part had fallen inside the BOX!))

ALSO NOTE = had Windows PRO version 8.1 (but paperwork simply said Win8)... so we didn't mind the free UPGRADE!

3-> we started the laptop via the POWER CORD (WITHOUT BATTERY) = all is ok so far

    (4) > in the new year, we called HP to see if they could have this laptop repaired (fix battery = no small job, I was told by guy order servce!)

"5 > Send phone repair with a note saying" pls also upgrade our PRO Win 8 to 8.1 "if possible"

    (6) laptop came back to us after only 4 weeks (2 weeks repairing, 2 weeks of travel) yip it's true!

Now, I am in need for the RECOVERY DISC and no way to get it? YES, I can pay for it, but it seems that I did have this laptop to be used during more than 2 or 3 days in total! and now I have to PAY for THE RECOVERY DISC. To make things worse when I do the @HP link, they can give only to WIN 8 (Basic version) and not the PROFESSIONAL VERSION of windows that came with it in the first place

Anyway in HP which is listering can help me?

  • Eliminate the F1 of the Win 7 Pro boot sequence

I am running Win 7 Pro on a Dell Optiplex 755.  In the course of booting did not require that I press the F1 key.  Due to an accident, I did a complete recovery system (system returns to the way it came from the factory) now every time I have start or do a reboot I have to press the F1 key.  It is a problem when I install something that requires a reboot.  How can I fix?

I resolved to myself.   I found that my bios has been looking for a floppy disk at startup drive, and there is no floppy.  I've eliminated who, and now everything is fine.

  • Satellite L20-214: Does recover CD contains the Win XP Pro

    Hello

I have a PC laptop toshiba satellite L20-214, it came with windows xp pre-installed 2, so I don't have a CD of Windows XP2.
I want to format and reload windows XP2.

The recovery of the supplied product disc with the laptop there Windows XP2 on it?

Yes, the restore CD contains the operating system that was installed on the laptop, all the drivers of Toshiba and tools as well as other software like Norton antivirus, Win DVD, etc.

Then you can just boot from the recovery CD and could install from the recovery CD.
But note; the recovery CD will format the whole HARD drive. So, you can lose all the files.

    Hello

Have you ever tried to start this unit?
As far as I know the startup disk must be used to activate the CD-Rom drive for the recovery procedure.
I found on the site of Toshiba, the boot drive for Win98 (boot_p3020_win98_210a.zip)

  • Slow down the WIN XP Pro desktop icons

    Hello

For some time, when I turn on my Windows XP Pro desktop computer, all icons appear on the desktop in their generic form (squares with dots of color on the inside).

Then, one by one, the icons change very slowly, to their shape.

No idea how to solve this problem?

    Thank you, Joseph.

The icons that appear on your desktop are removed from the Cache icon.  It is possible that your icon cache is fragmented or does any resulting all icons must be fired from their original location (which takes much more time).  You can try to reset/rebuild your icon Cache.  It is not hard to do, and to do this, the instructions are in this article:

'' The icons randomly change to different icons. ''

It is unlikely for sfc/scannow to run slowly unless the Service Pack to your real XP bootable installation CD matches the Service Pack installed on the computer.  This usually isn't the way things are in the real world.

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

Sfc/scannow will not help running.  You can not worry it run in the future.

Let's see what you have right now.

Please provide additional information on your system:

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Msinfo32

Click on OK and when the system info summary appears, click on Edition, select all, copy, and then paste the information here.

For information about video drivers, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all, copy and then paste the information here.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.

This will minimize back Q & A and eliminate guesswork.

It seems that the video drivers were considered suspects and since you have NVIDIA, I let NVIDIA look at your system and see what their online scanner has to say about your system.

I use the NVIDIA site and let scan them online take a look at your video system and see what he suggests for drivers and consider their analysis if they offer a new driver.

It is recommended to run the scan NVIDIA with Internet Explorer.

Here is the address of the NVIDIA page:

    http://www.nvidia.com/download/Prescan.aspx?lang=en-us

Read the instructions, and then click the DRIVERS GRAPHICS button to start scan and see what they have to say about your graphics card and if you need to update your video drivers.

If you have an NVIDIA card installed, you might think to replace it too (later).

You can also consider ditching Norton - at least for now...  Maybe just uninstall Norton temporarily using their special uninstall program and get your system stabilized and then when things are stable, reinstall your Norton again if you are forced to keep.   If you have installed Norton 'out of the box' it really installs a bunch of stuff that can thwart the troubleshooting.  You can save time by simplifying your configuration by getting rid of Norton and do it out of the picture entirely until things settle down.

Let's see what that your msinfo32 and NVIDIA has to say first.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

  • Update to Win 8 Pro on Dell - used the extra features Add - key function but now is rejected

    Hello

I bought a Dell XPS with Win 8 pre installed computer and key in the BIOS.

I needed features of Windows 8 Pro, so I bought a retail dvd.

When I pop the disk in the Dell to do a fresh install... it fails. I think it's because the activation key which is located in the BIOS is set to the version 8 to win and will not let me install the Windows 8 Pro.

So what I was thinking was I could go to add Windows 8 features. It asks for a product key. I get the product key provided with the pro Win 8 of retail disc.  It worked and it comes and goes.  For some reason, the computer crashed. Ok. Rebooted the machine. When I go back to the features add Windows 8 and add the product key, it is now rejected.

I have a few questions that I hope that you can answer:

    1. is my activation key pro 8 victory at retail now invalid? Shouldn't be able to reuse the key for new installations? He is always on the same machine.

    2. someone with experience with the installation of win 8 pro on a Dell computer with the ordinary 8 Win on the Bios?

I installed clean installs of Windows many times, but never on a Dell computer. so I am frustrated he gave me these questions.

    Thank you!

8 win was preinstalled with the Dell XPS.

I have a full retail version of DVD to win 8 pro.

It was very weird. If I stop the machine because I dropped. Came back to her and did a few more things. Then I got frustrated by the 'led' search somehow got installed and removed.

This required a reset. While she has been reset, it said that it was the application of updates.  Ok. It was weird.

After the reboot, I checked the version of windows, and it is indeed the Windows 8 Pro version.

So what's happened? I do not know. I can't explain it.

This is not a update product key. It is a full commercial product key.

I don't know why it took days and several reboots before something kicks and managed to install from Microsoft.

    I wish I can explain it. I can't.

But thanks for the quick response and offer help.

  • Win 7 Pro cannot install the upgrade of Vista 64

I bought Windows 7 Pro on the Microsoft.com site my Dell Studio 540 had Vista 64 when buying back about 4 years ago. I also bought the dics of Microsoft backup at the same time. The Win 7 Pro disc has the number 6/11 X 15-60651-03. I bought the UPGRADE, so I wouldn't have to start over with a new facility. What should I do to perform the UPGRADE?

When important changes to your computer, for example an upgrade, it is always recommended that you back up your system before installing a new version of Windows. In your case, you can upgrade to Windows 7 depending on the edition and the architecture of Windows Vista, you have installed. If you are running a 32-bit version of Vista and upgrade to a 64-bit (Windows 7 edition) version, you'll have a pure make install, it is the opposite case.

If you are using Windows Vista Home Basic or Premium consumer editions, you can only upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate. In addition, you can make downgrades, which means, if you are running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition now, you cannot downgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium. You perform logical upgrades:

Windows Vista Home Basic > Windows 7 Home Basic, Premium or Ultimate

Windows Vista Edition Home Premium > Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate

Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Professional, enterprise or ultimate edition

Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Enterprise

Windows Vista Ultimate > Windows 7 Ultimate.

I recently downloaded the trial version of the first Pro CC and noticed to set up a project he never required input for the file size (1280 x 720, etc.).  Is it something 'new' or I missed a step?  Thank you.

    Hello

In the new premiere pro version you don't need to manually create a sequence. You can simply import the images and create the sequence of the clip.

You can use drag and drop feature of the timeline or

Right-click on the images after you import into the project, and then select new sequence of the clip.

    Thank you

My colleague accidentally installed Win XP Home Edition on a computer that we have configured as a server e-mail and files.

How do I change OS to Win XP Pro without having to re - format the hard drive?

The Win XP Pro is a supplier for the machine. When you change the hard drive (old one crashed), the o/s bad has been installed as they were also recoverinig another PC with Win XP Home.

    Any advise is much appreciated!

    Hi ChongPang,

If you proceed with the installation of XP Pro from XP home, it will ask you to upgrade.

    I hope this helps.
