Set URL timeout

How to set the timeout for connecting to a URL?

The time-out period BEFORE Firefox reports 'not found '.

There is no setting in Firefox to do this. Modify a TCP/IP parameter in the registry.

    Sorry, misread the part 'server' in what you use. Data Pump is Oracle, MSSQL not. But, you can do a dump of csv data, and then use SQL * Loader. Alternatively, use the CSV (one for each table, a bit heavier) files in the form of external tables.

    4 GB is worth considering:

    The EXTFILE parameter to specify a file extracted, which is a local file that will be read by

    a group of extract from pump data on the local system, or to specify a replicate file extracted local

    bed when SPECIALRUN is used. The size of an extracted file must not exceed 2GB.

  • Uniform HTTP Timeout setting?

    Hi all
    I used HttpConnection for a few years and now I have a need to set the timeout for HTTP connections within 2 minutes. I searched in this forum and elsewhere and learned that I should use either ConnectionFactory, who has the ability to set a timeout, or can I use HttpConnection and the timer and interrupt the flow of HTTP.

    BUT - as far as I know, these two methods have varying results. HttpConnection/Timer methods and the ConnectionFactory seem to work differently in the OS 5, 6 and 7 appear to better work in simulators than devices physical (I tested on OS5 and OS7.1 BlackBerry).

    My best results occur when I use ConnectionFactory and has my timeout value, setTimeLimit(), and setConnectionTimeout(), and then I add a Timer to the same timeout value. The code checks the sufficient connectivity using getCoverageStatus() just before trying to open the HTTP connection. It seems to work well on OS5, 6 and 7 sims and on live devices for OS5 and OS7.1.

    I'm still having a problem. There are moments where nothing stops the connection before HTTP mark two minutes. This happens when I simulate bad reception, just as the connection starts. I simulate the threshold of reception by starting the connection and then placing the BlackBerry in one box to cut the front desk. Most of the time, the works of timeout. My timeout is set to 16 seconds. On a live device 5.0, the timeout takes more than 30 seconds (not what I want, but it says my code is to have an effect).

    But if I open the box for 30 seconds and check every 15 seconds with a quick glance, I had the timeout of 2 minutes and 40 seconds - much longer than the time limit of 2 minutes by default. I connect where it happens and the 02:40 delay occurs inside this section of code:

    ConnectionFactory myConFactory = new ConnectionFactory();
    myConFactory.setTimeLimit (myFactoryTimeout);
    myConFactory.setConnectionTimeout (myFactoryTimeout);
    ConnectionDescriptor myConDesc = myConFactory.getConnection (pURL);

    Ignorant if I emphasize connectivity incorrectly performing this test at all, my questions for the experts of the forum are:
    I'm doing something wrong, and is there anything else I can do to get a specific time frame in all cases?
    Is there an explanation for this failure of timeout?

    The code follows. I've slightly simplified. Thank you!

    Request code:

    I would like to know what is the right place/method to set a deadline.

    For java web applications, you can set the session timeout in the web.xml file. (this is the global settings associated with all sessions)

    If you wish, you can set the timeout of session by program (and this is related only to the current http session).

    If possible I would like that when the timeout checks, the application performs a redirect to a page I like (for example the login page).

  • Groovy http requests timeout

    If I do the http request models groovy by setting the fetch URL and content of class, is - can I change default timeout values.

    Here is the excerpt from groovy example:

    def url = new URL ("http://myserver.foo.com/test")
    def content = url.getText)

    This works well if the server is not available or if the application gives any kind of error. However, if this connection time-outs, it is quite play my alert models. Finally the HQ template engine will notice that there is long-term, methods, but it will take too long. I want to just make sure that this model is run within 10 seconds.

    If anyone wants to know why I'm doing the HTTP alert model, short here's answer. I have an external knowledge (wiki) database to store alert documents. Here, I'm just trying to attach certain documents to emails that HQ sends to users.

    It's groovy kind of problem. Does anyone know of any workaround for this problem?

    Hi Janne,

    I do not know how to set the timeout... I guess it's the price to pay for convenience when using these Groovy shortcut methods.

    You simply need to do the old-fashioned way.  As an alternative, HQ is delivered with Commons-httpclient, so you can also use it if you need finer grain size control settings and connection settings.

  • Prevention of timeout to trigger

    Hi, I use the 1427 OR with a camera NIR Goodrich 640 x 512.  We use an external source to trigger the camera and the time between two pulses of trigger is sometimes longer than the time-out for the camera (I immediately the value 2000 ms).  I would fix rather a delay of 10 seconds for the camera and I was wondering if there was some funciton of that I could call before calling the imaqGrab function to see if the camera has actually aqcuired a picture and was ready to be "seized."  Thank you!

    @FeralPhys:

    I think you can set the timeout much higher. In fact, we have several projects where the expiration time is set to infinity.

    The question is, how do stop you grabbing, while he is indefinitely stuck waiting and you must stop the application. You can do this by making a loop of parallel execution, which close the session IMAQ if stop condition. After the closure of session IMAQ, IMAQ Grab stops with an error (which you can easily manage).

    We use this approach generally with IMAQdx, but I think that it works with the same way IMAQ.
