  • error code 39 drivers damaged or missing

I have an older zv5000 HP Pavillion with the 224th CD Teac DW - a/DVD RW disk in it.  After doing a full format of the system and restore by using the original cd system has worked well for about a week.  Then I tried to get the drive to install software and it wouldn't read the disc.  I checked the Device Manager and found the yellow «!»  So, I uninstalled the drive and restarted the computer.  'Found' the material 'nine', he says an error has occurred and the hardware may not work correctly.

I tried to use an external CD/DVD-RW drive, but got the same message that an error has occurred and it might not work etc.  An another Manager check for device and saw yellow "!" on the TWO CD/DVD units. Uninstalled both, but I got the same error on start up.

It seems that something corrupt or deleted ALL drivers for CD/DVD ROM.

I tried to find the drivers for the drive Teac DW 224th - has on Microsoft Download site, but unless I'm blind, or just don't know what I'm looking for, I can't find them.  Are there reliable download sites where I can download these drivers without having to worry about viruses etc?

  • I recived the windows\system32\config\system damaged or missing error today

I got the windows\system32\config\system error damaged or missing today and do the chkdsk c:/r on it and he said: "The Volume appears to contain one or more unrecoverable problems"... is it still fixable or have I just lost my HD?

I can't do a cause of model, that I built it 2 years ago.
I run windows xp professional, service Pack3, all updates
I use spybot, avg, windows defender and malwarebytes
Caused the computer to restart 4 times and I didn't know it until it was too late cause we had electricians turning the power on/off and I didn't know my computer kept on again and restart.
I have a cdrom to work and I still have the xp cd.

Note: I tried to do a repair of windows, go to the Setup screen. But there was no repair to the screen only option how much space is free, if I wanted to install or delete a partition. I have nothing just to the left.

If chkdsk does not resolve your hard drive, then you will need in the end not completely reformat your hard drive and reinstall Windows.  Before doing so, however, you must save as much data as you can to an external USB hard drive.  If your system boots, then save as much as the hard drive will allow.  If your system does not start, then you should try to boot from a bootable CD that will support USB drives (I prefer free Linux Livecd such as Knoppix), then again until you can.

To reinstall Windows, many computers have a recovery Partition that will restore your computer to its State as purchaser which can be activated by pressing a combination of keys special at the time where the manufacturer splash screen goes back to the start.  Read quickly, find the appropriate key combination and press it to reinstall Windows - well in your case, it seems that you have an installation CD.  If the request to do a 'Quick format' or 'Regular Format', do not select Quick format.

I am upgrading of Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit) for Windows 7 Home Premium (32 bit) - but getting stopped everytime I try, I end up with a dialog box stating: "Windows cannot copy files required for installation. What should I do to resolve this problem and allow full of Windows 7 installation? (my computer is a Compaq Presario V6000).

    Hello

What installation media you are using?

    Method 1:

Error 0 x 80070017 translates "CRC error" which means that the files that are copied from the disc are not making it to the hard drive with the same structure, which means that the 'original' the disk files are modified/changed/corrupted while being copied to the location of the 'destination' on your disk during Setup.

This usually means a bad DVD, or an error reading on the DVD player.

I had a lot of trouble trying to install the 64-bit version of windows 7 Home Premium on my 64-bit vista, and my question is multi-part. If it is relevant, it's my 2nd copy of windows 7 I have tried. Error code is [0x7E]. "However, I managed to get into with my 2nd copy installation after restarting my computer. Once in Setup, I got another error that stopped the installation that says "windows not could create an installation folder. Error code is 0 x 80070017. "Again, I rebooted my computer and started the installation again, this time following installation was decently through but stopped when I got the error"Windows cannot copy files required for installation. • SE error message: "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The unit may be damaged or missing. "When you try to install new drivers for DVD players

Original title: CD/DVD drives do not work after upgrade from XP to Vista

I upgraded my dell E521 to Vista dimension, but now finds that none of the CD/DVD drives work.  I also tried two external drives, same thing.  I downloaded the new drivers for the internal disks and when I tried to install the windows said they already had the best drivers.  Both drives are TSST - I get device status "windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The unit may be damaged or missing. "I want to upgrade to 7, but can not run the dvd, and apparently MS has no download available if you purchase cd!  Am tearing my hair!

    Hi krt2,

In general, the error can be caused by a missing required device driver, a required binary file is damaged, if there is a problem with the process I/O file, or if a pilot that makes reference to an entry point in another binary file which can not load

You can try to uninstall and reinstall the driver for the device to solve this problem.

Step 1: Uninstall the CD/DVD driver. Follow this step to do the same thing:

    a. click the Start button, select Control Panel, click System and Maintenance and then click Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    b. expand CD-ROM/DVD-Rom drives-> right click on the device, and then click Properties.

    c. on the device properties dialog box, click the driver tab, and then click on uninstall.

    d. restart your computer.

Step 2: Reinstall the CD/DVD driver by visiting the manufacturer's Web site.

See the links below for more details on the update of drivers:

  • Ntoskrnl.exe damaged or missing error

I'm now locked in battle with the ntoskrnl.exe file corrupted on my computer. It started a week ago when I stopped, I noticed updates have been planned and so I clicked on to install updates and shut down option. Next morning all * broke loose and I'm dealing with a damaged or missing ntoskrnl.exe file. Now when I start the machine starts OK and then when the Windows boot screen showing moving green lines appear, it holds for a few seconds and then automatically start startup repair... After working on what he comes back with mode "cannot repair computer automatically, and when I ask to send the information contained in". I can't find any additional information. System restore fails due to a corrupted file. I have tried and actually started the system with the recovery in the drive but not from this date disc... maybe I'm super tired. I read that you can expand the file in the location of the recovery disc, but I get confused the guidelines regarding disk numbers. Is it possible to buy a HARD drive up, install it in the machine and then install vista on it and set the new drive as the primary drive and leave the old drive in pure storage. Or the problem would still exist? I have photos stored on the drive and more priceless family of financial records and other important documents on it as well. Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD

    do it right.

  • Does not start Equim A60 - system is damaged or missing

Hi, is there anyone who can help me to save my data I had on my laptop Equium A60. The system displays this message when I boot it "WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM" IS DAMAGED or MISSING. I got my disk to RESTORE but it clealy invite, a warning message that all my data would be lost for the default setting is installed. I will definitely use this disc, but before that I need my data. Please also note that Windows XP is running on my system.

The problem occurred when I installed the drivers for a BLUETOOTH dongle. The installation was perfect but when I rebooted my windows the above error msg appears and I can't get into windows. I used the F8 key and tried all the option here but none of them worked and I took them to the same message.

I would appreciate if someone can help me in this matter.

    THANKS AND BYE - ads

    Hello Adnan,

There is unfortunately no way to load your operating system with the error you describe. As you have already discovered it does not load even in 'SAFE' mode

This means that you only options for recovery are: -.

1 reinstall the recovery CDs (which will lose all your data during the re-form)

2 try to recover the situation by using a Microsoft Installation CD authentic (by using the Recovery Console)

3 remove the hard drive from your laptop and screw (with a USB caddy) to another PC so that you can
Retrieve your data befor using option 1 above.

Option 3 would probably be your best way to recover and would mean that you would not lose your data.

I also recommend that you invest in a proper backup strategy (possibly drive external hard USB and a utility such as Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image) so that you can protect your system from such incidents in the future.

    Kind regards

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
