several channels in daq assistant

Hi guys,.

My first post on this forum, would appreciate some advice.

I use labview 8.2 with PCI-6071E acq. card.

I'm observing unexpected behavior when you try to read analog data on my card.

If I define in the daq assistant, one way to read, everything is great, and the data is ready, as planned. I can see it in the preview window (explicit task)

When I open the daq assistant.

But, at the point where I have to add a channel more (from the same physical pci-6071e card), my measurements are totally fake - I get a strange signal...

The sampling rate is more than enough (I enjoy with 64khz a 1 kHz signal arriving at one of my channels).

What I'm missing here?

Thanks for any advice you may have.

Lenny

With the generator of signals (output TTL) or the PCI-6071E AO the gsignla is NOT differentiated. Use one of the configurations of single entry completed.

The Earth all unused inputs.

  • Several channels AND DAQ

    Hello!

I have a problem regarding the acquisition of data from multiple channels. I get a channel data in time, but when I try to do a similar code to get data from another channel, it will not work. This can be done with the DAQ assistant, but I want to avoid this solution, because it slows down the program a little.

The snapshot accessory show how this is done for 1 channel. Can I use a similar program for the acquisition of several channels?

    Thanks for your help.

You must only specify several channels in your task - i.e. Dev1\ai0:1 and replace the DAQmx Read N channels. Go to the task in MAX and click the channels button Add. Follow the directions.

  • At the same time Record several channels in DAQ

I'm currently configured to play two channels in data acquisition using DAQ Assistant. I wonder what would be the best way to go on the sampling of these channels at the same time, or as close as possible. The vi that I currently use is attached.

DAQmx manages the calendar under the hood and does it quite well.  If you want to change advanced sync settings you can, but of course, you will have to abandon the DAQ ASSistant and write a LabVIEW code.

I assume you are using a multiplexing card right?  The only real solution for true simultaneous sampling is to buy a card that has several a/d converters like the S series cards.

For the second poster: you do not have the same problem as the op.  It can be implemented in multiple channels.  If you want to help, you must provide further information that "it gives an error.

EDIT: I bet you are trying to use separate tasks for each entry, aren't you.  If you do, you'll get a resource conflict error.  You must use a SINGLE task and set up several channels in this task to collect more than one signal.

  • How to parse the input data of several channels simultaneously via an NI USB-6251 box by use of a single DAQ Assistant?

I did separate VI for reading signals from several channels on a map of NI USB-6251.  I would like to combine these in a VI VI alone so that they can run that at the same time, however, there is an error if there is more that a single DAQ Assistant in the same--> error-50103 VI was held at DAQmx controls Task.vi:32 (the specified resource is reserved. The operation could not be performed as indicated.)

All the inputs of channel must then be read in with a single DAQ Assistant, but all of the data on different channels are not separated.  Can save this data in a matrix or otherwise manageable which allow to facilitate the analysis of the data from the separate channel entries?

I tried to view the data in a file of measures, but then when I tried InPort data, I could all the data I wanted.

    Hi AggieGirl,

Good afternoon and I hope that your well today.

First of all, you will not be able to have more than one DAQ Assistant by input analog or analog output task because the device has only one of each. So, you must have a DAQ task to HAVE and AO. (This is not the case for DIO static).

There is far from split signals using the express VI - signal splitter.

When you say you saved this file and it does not work, how it did not work? The Express VI - save a file of measures needed to manage multiple waveforms. Can send you your code & explain more about what was not OK on the file?

  • I have a DAQ Assistant configured to read several channels at the same time. When I have a graphical indicator of wire to the output, I see all my signals mixed together. How I divided them into separate signals?

I have a DAQ Assistant configured to read 2 channels at the same time. When I have a graphical indicator of wire to the output, I see 2 signals mixed together. How I divided them into separate signals?

When I wire any type of indicator, it is show that a release of a single channel.

I want 2 indicators showing 2 different signals as expected from 2 channels configured. How to do this?

I tried to use split signal but it end by showing that 1 out of 1 signal two indicators.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes you are right. I tried, but I don't have the result.

I just find the path. When we launch the split signal, we should expand it (split signal icon) by top, not the bottom. It took me a while to understand this.

  • Several channels daq

Hello.. I use usb 6353 DAQ board for my project. I want to buy 3 different voltages and post it on labview. When I take a channel (ai0) data in the daq assistant it works fine, but when I add channels (ai1, ai2) in the nd task run it, tensions mix. I used split Subvi to separate dynamic data, but the readings are all wrong.
    What I am doing wrong?

  • I use several DAQ assistant but it seems impossible...

    Hello world

I'm on a project for some time.

To summarize, I had 3 modules for the project: Anolog, digital, input resistance meter.

My main program works, but now I have to connect with an excel file.

I found an easy way of this solution, but now my problem is bigger. The fact is that I use my screws and screws with this how to link my data, but according to LabVIEW Sub, I can't, in the same program, do something in relation to 2 modules different. Obviously, each module works with a DAQ Assistant.

To be more specific: I want to put the data from the 2 (thanks to the analogue of the module), and wire different sensors 1-> 0 or 0-> 1 (thanks to the digital module)

And when I link 2 DAQ in the same file or 2 screws secondary who got 1 acquisition of data in entry of a measurement file, it does not work. The error that I can not launch the DAQ second after the first... so...

I hope you understand my problem.

You have a solution for this problem? Should I change a large part of my program to do this or is it just a small detail?

Thank you in advance! I'm really disappointed-_ - I'm for several times... and I'm late for my project...

    Best regards.

  • DAQ Assistant do not find channels of the cDAQ

We recently bought the Compact DAQ and two thermocouple modules 16 channels.  I am trying to change a code to use a Pico USB logger for the cDAQ and I'm trying to follow the examples found on your Web site using the DAQ Assistant.  Initializes the DAQ Assistant, and I choose analog input for the selection of Signal acquisition.  When I select the option of Thermocouple temperature section, it says "reading of Lecture de Configuration Configuration of the system, please wait...". "but it never picks the cDAQ channels.  I installed drivers and recoginizes of the USB port on the device (and the light indicates that it is in "ready" mode), but it has never been "Reading System Configuration."

    Thank you for your time.

Solution has been found.  It turns out that the data folder was corrupted files it contains.  Once that I deleted it MAX started to work very well.

  • Cannot get DAQ Assistant in Labview to cDAQ 9184

I am trying to build a system for the acquisition of data with one NOR cDAQ 9184. I installed the drivers for the system and I'm able to get to the DAQ system using NI Max (under my system - devices and Interfaces - devices on network) and all channels appear well, however, I tried to follow the procedure described in http://www.ni.com/white-paper/11703/en/#toc2 to integrate my system with LabView and I am unable to find the tab software under the unit to be able to write the RIO 3.5.1 on the appliance and cannot find the device to through the LabView project.

Your real problem is error-50103.  This is a common mistake, and you can find the answers for it if you are looking for in the forums.

The problem is that you can't have several tasks (or several assistants DAQ) try to access the same device at the same time.

Make a DAQ assistant who has all defined channels you wish to purchase.

I downloaded the program entry OR bridge-continues and tries to modify it slightly to allow several Wheatstone bridges to connect. Currently, it has the ability to connect to a single channel but don't not to acquire information from several channels simultaneously. All information regarding the shunt calibration, bridge information and waveform graphic output remains the same. Ideally, the program displays the greatest value in the final waveform graph, but it is fine if it shows separate graphs for each of the two entrances. I was playing with it without much luck though if I start from scratch and you use the DAQ assistant, I'm able to get information without penalty. Any help would be appreciated.

In fact you are 99.99% of the way.

You just need to 4 characters

The name filtering on this control is even properly defined to allow multiple selections and just shift click on the second channel

  • Dynamic data of several channels in table, then save in Excel

    Hello

I am acquiring data from several channels (4-5) and I'd like to collect samples at low rates (10 Hz for 3 minutes max). For various reasons I use Dynamic Data type, although I know that it is not the best way (some say it is a wrong data type ). I also want to save data to a file (the best option would be data excel file).

If I acquire data 10 times per second, it is quite slow to save in excel (this is the slowest option of all types of data). So I would like to fill a table or matrix of acquired data and then write Excel file (I use scripture to measure file). But I don't know how to do - if I convert DDT in DBL, build an array and connect it to change registry, it works but I lose the information in column names and I'm wasting time. If I connect to build the table a DDT and then shift record another, it returns the table 1 d of DDT. I would like to have 2D DDT, which collects all the information loop.  Is there a suggestion how to solve?

I'm sure it would be easier solved my problem with the double data type but I also use select signals VI which is the VI I am not able to replace at this time.

    Good day

    Lefebvre

I don't know if there is a question here, or what.  Doing what you say you want to make, acquire the data of 4-5 channels at low rates (10 Hz for 3 minutes) and save the data in an Excel file (I assume you mean really Excel, i.e. a file with the extension .xls or .xlsx) is really a very easy thing to do in LabVIEW, especially if you are not using :

    • DAQ Assistant
    • Dynamic Data
    • Write to the action file.

Indeed, you seem to realize this, but I guess you want to 'do the hard', in any case.

    Good luck.

  • Control relay with Boolean switch using DAQ assistant 9481 - problems

Sorry for what may be a stupid question but I'm stuck in quicksand.

I use a relay module 9481 and have two external relays connected lines 0 and 1.

When I create a digital output 0 line by line, I can run the test inside the express and activate the relay and turn off without problem.

The generated block DAQ expressed expects a Boolean input of 1 d. (See attached photo).

I want to connect a Boolean switch relay line disk 0. You can connect live not because the switch is Boolean and the input is Boolean 1 d - I'm a conversation in the pict.

All plumbing lines display results, the relay never active.

Any bunch would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

    Mr._Mechanical,

Welcome to the Forums of switch OR this forum is generally intended for products OR-SWITCH [such as the NI PXI-25xx & NI SCXI-11xx], I think I know the answer to your question.

I think the reason why it's a failure is the conversion you make generates a table of 16 Boolean [as the 'boolean to (0,1)' function creates a data I16 type] with your data more false data points 15.

When you try to control the relay, he sees 16 datapoints are you Commander to a single port [channel] and so error out.

My suggestion would be to use normal DAQmx digital output screw [with, he set up as ' Digital > single channel > single sample > Boolean (1 line) "] rather than the DAQ assistant.

If you use the daq assistant, simply by using the function 'Building the table' will transform your simple Boolean data point in a Boolean array containing a single element.

While the DAQ assistant is very easy to use, I recommend that you use the DAQ assistant, because this reduces the features and increases the execution time.

  • Multiple entries to the DAQ Assistant

    Hello

I'm doing my DAQ Assistant, in several (formed of an array) Boolean inputs where there is 1 digital output. (see attached software folder)

Physically, I want a valve to open and close at a certain pace, where the user can install/control this pattern until the program starts.

I think that the best way to do it is to have multiple Boolean values that the user can press or unpress.

Before that, I started, I tried with only Boolean 1 where it worked perfectly.

As seen on the attachment (error), it is possible to an easy problem to solve, but I just can't figure it out, I'm stuck at my already made solution.

    I use USB6008.

I hope that there is a gentle soul who can help out me.

    Best regards

    Kenneth G. Vejen

    Hi Kenneth.

When the output to the generation mode is set to "sample 1", which means that whenever you call the DAQ Assistant will generate 1 sample. In order to generate 5 samples, you must therefore call 5 times.

I have attached a modified version of your VI, which shows a way to archive it. However, be aware that the samples will be generated fast and not at 100 ms note your loop runs. It depends on your application, if it is as you want samples to be issued.

  • Calibration of thermocouples in the DAQ Assistant, using data from spreadsheet?

    Hi all

For my first application LabVIEW, I'm looking to automate the calibration of thermocouples by measuring their response at different temperatures in a dry well Sizer. I get temperatures of thermocouples six by SCXI 1303/1102/1600 and have six channels put in place in one of my subVIs in the DAQ assistant.

I compare these values to temperature calibrator that I am acquiring by VISA series in an other Subvi. All these values are written in a .csv file.

Can I import these data into the DAQ Assistant to use for calibration? Is there a simpler way to associate with the channel calibration data? Currently, I could manually copy - paste the cells on the worksheet in the calibration sheet, but that seems just silly.

If there is everything that I could provide to help solve the problem, let me know!

    Thank you!

    Hi Zoysiamo,

It is possible to automate the calibration screws DAQmx at a lower level, in particular the DAQmx channel property node. Using you can specify advance nationwide and the values on the scale for your channel. I recommend you take a look at this example of the community. The property node configuration will be similar to, as illustrated below:

  • Second DAQ assistant in the power control system does not

    Hi all

I need your help on this issue. I'm currently programming a VI for one command power supply for pool boiling experiments. The organizational structure of the VI program is attached.

I use two assistants DAQ for steady-state acquisition and temperature unstable state data respectively. The first assistant DAQ (samples to read 5, 5 Hz rate) for the acquisition of works unstable state data well (see the attached image file first DAQ Assistant for acquisition of temperature unstable state). The second assistant DAQ (samples to read 12 k, 200 rate) for stationary data acquisition does not work (please see attachment image Second Assistant DAQ of steady-state temperature acquisition), showing only a series of data files size of 1 KB with no data on the inside. And indicators for steady-state data also revealed nothing.

After a similar Q & A search in the forum, I tried to distribute different channels for 1 and DAQ assistant 2. However, the situation was almost the same.

The material I used are chassis SCXI 1000 and SCXI 1303 Council to acquire thermal couple temperature data. Food was AMREL SPS200-50-K025. LabVIEW software is the 2014 version.

I had just started to learn LabVIEW for only a month, and I know that the VI is a little messy. Hope you guys can also give me some advice on how to improve this VI.

Have you looked at the error on the second daq assistant? You will see that a reserved resource error because you cannot use two different assistants. You do not mention the real DAQ hardware but there a clock unique convert. You can use only one assistant with a unique sampling frequency.
