  Hi all

  I spent hours on it, seen all Lieve and Adobe materials and all what I've accomplished is a headache and about 50 actions and variables in the trash can. Any help would be appreciated... a lot!

  I use CP 5.5 on a PC.

  I have a training scenario where the learner is delivered in an entry slide (slide 1 for simplicity). On this slide, there are four photos of managers to talk with. A clickbox on each photo sends you a new slide. (ie: Manager 1 (M1) sends you to slide 2 (S2), M2 = S3, etc.). Once you see the Manager info click on a "back" button and are sent back to slide 1, so you can visit all four managers. Once completed, the learner selects a button continue and jumps to slide 6 in continue the scenario.

  Objective:

  1. when the learner chooses a Director and goes to the Manager page, on their return to the slide of entry, I would like to see a green check mark of their photo.

  2. I want the button 'continue' hidden until all the Manager of four pages were examined.

  Sounds simple? So I thought.

  One last question:

  You can attach shares advanced to a slide and a clickbox. Who has priority? Will be used rather than the other.

  Funny you should post this question because that's EXACTLY what I had to do for a client of mine, a month or two back, except that in his case, it was 6 different roles involved in a business process.

  I had a picture of each role on the master slide with a widget event handler attached to each, but a click box would have done the job just as well.  By clicking on the picture performed a tip Action to move to the slide in which you said all about how this role participated in the process of the company.

  I created a separate variable for each called [RoleName] role done with the default value of 0 and a tip for each called whole [RoleName] role Action performed.  Then I put the OnExit from each role information slide action to perform this action.

  Here's what looked like a typical action:

  

  As you can see, when the learner is out the slide of role information, and he performs this action, it assigns to the variable ManagementSponsorDone 1, and then jump to the slide Menu roles (the slide with pictures of role).

  When the arriives user to the menu slide it works a conditional Advanced Action OnSlideEnter called ShowTicks that looks like the value of the variable of each role to see whether or not it has been set to 1 and if so, reveals the tick sitting on the photo of this role.

  Here is what looks like the menu slide. Each scale has an element name that indicates what role it applies to (ManagerTick, etc.):

  I could use some help troubleshooting one of my projects.

  I use a couple of clickboxes that perform distinct advanced actions - by clicking on the first clickbox (CB1) shows a picture, a text caption and click box (CB2) that appear with a fade-in effect apply (see the + ApplyEffect). Then, once everything is displayed, CB2 makes all melted (ApplyEffect only). It's like a pop - up glorified that fades in and out. It works very well... once!

  The problem is that if CB2 hides everything stated by CB1, I can open and close until the cows come home. However, as soon as I replace Hide to apply effects (fadeout) in advanced actions, he won't again. I click on CB1 but nothing happens.

  What I think is that CB2 is not hiding anything (only fades them out of sight) and when I click on CB1 the second time, it displays them, but I don't see it because they are always made disappear.

  I tried to add assign rdcmndGotoFrameAndResume with v_startframe at the end of advanced action of CB2, but nothing helped. Simply, he jumps the fadeout and go to the first image.

  Is it possible to delay my last action? Or maybe I do not have that sense. just started using advanced actions.

  First define the variables two user I've been using: v_start and v_fadeout. No need to give them a default value.

  On the slide, in the properties, Action on enter, accordion panel you choose entitled and in the drop-down list, you select v_start and then you will need to type in the system variable $$rdinfoCurrentFrame$ $. I find it easier to make a standard advanced trigger action on enter, because in the dialog shares advanced, you can also select this variable system instead of having to type it. With this action, the value in the v_start variable will be the first image of the slide number.

  For buttons, unlike the click boxes, you can time the point of suspension in the properties, timing Accordion Panel. Here, you can type in 6 to "Pause after '... You can display two buttons during the rest of the slide (CTRL-E).

  It will automatically return to the first image, that's what makes the rewind button: assign rdcmndGotoFrameAndResume with v_start.

  There is no possibility of time in a tip action.

  Explanation of Expressions: in the first expression, I calculate the number of frames corresponding to 6 seconds. the variable rdinfoFPS system automatically gives the number of frames per second, default value is 30. If the first expression will result in 180 frames. But I have to navigate to the absolute number of this framework from the beginning of the project. That's why I add the number of the first frame of the slide that is stored in v_start.

  I am trying to create a 'simple' (Captivate 7.0.1). Word search puzzle

  The user must be able to find the 5 words hidden in a random order.

  5 necessary items have been found, legend text informed the user that he or she has completed the puzzle and can click on the next button to move forward.

  

  The problem I encounter is that the caption text does not appear in the slide, although the number of clicks/selections required is met.

  Note: When to advance to the next slide, and then enter the puzzle slide text caption shows and triggers. (see below)

• Several videos into a single slide

  I have three videos that I try to run in a single slide. I tried several versions of advanced actions, but they are all always start at the same time, not hidden. Ideas?

  Sorry, deleted this file I put together rapidly yesterday. You always each video object separately on the blade, not in the States! I've recreated the example, here is the screenshot of step + chronology. The selected object 'VideoShape' in the Normal State is a shape with a gradient fill and a text in this example:

  

  For this shape, I have created 3 additional States, as you can see in the following screenshot. I used the same marking as in my previous example, for States.

  

  Each of the buttons (Bt_One...) must trigger the action to change the State to appropriate video. Works perfectly. This will be the video of the event!

• Shares advanced in a questionnaire/survey

  I built a survey for work in Captivate 7 (just installed 8).  Its function is to get feedback after an e-learning course.  There are several different instructors who can lead the course and I was instructed to intensify the investigation for the LMS reports.

  What is asked:
  The possibility for students to choose their instructor in a list, so that the LMS report can be parsed out by instructor (s) for the course.  But we want only the answered questions to display in the report (which will require awareness branch, but I need to get the first functional part first).

  What I tried:

  Make a question slide with each instructor as answer Multiple choice.  After selecting their instructor, a new name is assigned to the variable trainerName (trainerAtest, trainerBtest, etc.).  I then created a tip called trainerSurvey with conditional Actions Action.  Each variable potential variation (i.e. each trainerName) suffers from a disease 'IF trainerName is equal to trainerAtest' and accompanying Action "go to slide 5".  Back on the slide properties Quiz action after investigation is defined as execute Advanced Action-Script trainerSurvey.

  When I go to preview, I choose a trainer (triggering of the change of variable) and click Submit (taking action after investigation)... and it just sits there.  Impossible to change the selected trainer, do not click on submit again.  Just stuck.

  Help?  Thoughts?  All appreciated!

  For some time I used advanced Actions, it is so very possible I'm overlooking something obvious (or made quite bad!), but it feels like I'm at least on the right track here.  Once this is resolved, I can assure that it is branching out properly, but this first!

  Why don't you use a QUIZ for this objective, I do not understand this at all! Questionnaire slides have very strict rules.

  I would choose to use the interaction of the drop-down list or the interaction of option buttons to fill a v_trainer user variable (sorry, but this is my way of variables, avoids duplication of names if you identify it as a variable of the labelling). A button (form) that must be clicked to confirm the choice will launch a conditional action to make the jump to. However, I wonder if it will help at the end, feel like you should try to first use the LMS functionality to get the report to coach good.

  I have a home network with a single machine Windows and other 8.1 with Windows XP and 7.  I've been using Advanced sharing (football match in the name of user and password) using local accounts on the computer of 8.1.  I wonder if there is a way to make an account on the actions of access 8.1 machine on Microsoft's XP machine.  Yes, I know that the support for XP is complete.

  To access the share, the person sitting at the machine 8.1 must provide identification information of a user on the XP machine who has access.  You can choose to remember the password so it never give him again.

  Working in 9 Captivate) I put in place 10 smart as shapes button when you click on each one that it displays the information (which is a caption text or scrolling widget text hidden in the properties).  I want to display a button following after the student has clicked and looking at each piece of information. I created a set of 10 variables user and all assigned a value of 0. Then set up a tip action for each button that shows and hid information that I wanted to display for each button. (simple stuff) I also added an increment action each which incremented by 1 unit the appropriate variable. Then implement a conditional action, which took place at the entrance of page which contained all the conditions are true, then each of the 1-10 variables equal to or greater than 1, see the next key, who was on the page, but hidden in the properties. It all sounds simple, that I can make it work if I set up a test with a few buttons on a page etc. But in my project does not display the button. All of the suggestions.

  Pressing enter will not be executed, that's your misunderstanding. You need a conditional action advanced for each form button. It is not possible to use a joint action because of the dual use of variables. Do not increment the user variable, but 1 is also a better solution, makes the only less complicated condition. I posted this solution several times on this forum, but here's another test:

  Conditional action SB_OneAct needs two decisions:

  First decision "Always" is a standard simulated action:

  IF 1 is equal to 1 is always true for all orders will always be

  Assign the v_one with 1 corresponding to the variable v_one Boolean user associated with first button on form

  Hide Gr_Info where Gr_Info is the group with all the information boxes/widgets for all buttons

  _One Info_one is the information for this button information display

• Linking multiple images to a hotspot of reversal.  Several access points on a slide.

  Does anyone know if there's a widget or work around or something that will allow me to do this? My job depends on it

  As long as you are not concerned about the exit to HTML5, the widget event handler is probably your best choice:

  I think that what you probably are trying to do is have multiple images appear or disappear when a user will fly over a given spot. Is this correct?  If Yes, then you don't really need is a simple widget to event handler attached to a box of highlight to 0% Alpha (make it act as a transparent hotspot).  You can run a single Advanced Action to DISPLAY the images through the event on success set to Roll Over, and a different Action of Advanced value Roll-Out even on the side of the failure of the widget to HIDE even from images.  Set widget preferences to reset the criteria of success relative to the Action failure so that you can do the mouseover and mouseout/mouseouthandler() several times.

  You can even stack several gadgets on a single object, each widget can be configured to listen to a different mouse event and do something different depending on what the user is doing.

• Several conditional Actions required to Slide "on entry.

  I have a Captivate 7 file with a main Menu that contains 5 buttons that take users through 5 submenus. There are buttons that launch other project files on each submenu.

  On the submenus when a user performs a project file, the file closes and a variable puts a check mark on the top of the key to display this project is completed. Once a user makes all projects on a submenu, the button in the main Menu which directs user to the submenu then will have a tick on the top of the key to show the submenu is complete.

  This works well with many variables; standard actions on the buttons and a conditional action advanced on the "on entrance" for the slide.

  Question I have is that on each slide to make a Visual indicator that indicates the total percentage of full user (6 built images showing 0,20,40,60,80 & amp; 100). I created a conditional action that shows a relevant picture but my question is how to integrate only next to entry. Have you thought to use on output to show the image correctly on each slide, so that when the user visits a slide good picture - unfortunately it does not work.  Someone at - it ideas? Is it possible to drag on entry perform two separate conditional actions?

  You can put decisions as much as you want in a conditional to the progress of the actions. How much time do you have for now? All the statements in any fast action are always evaluated, which is not always the case in conditions in a programming language. Sequence is of course very important, both in the statements and decisions.

• shares advanced; expressions; percentile of the right answer

  Hi all! It seems that I got my custom with two questions and all peachy keen video question slide BUT the percentile (TFScore; textbox I inserted and controlld with advanced actions) will return not populated. It is just empty return when I click 'submit '.

  This leads me to believe that this is something that has to do with the expression that I'll put up...

  Can someone give me directions (more). Maybe I'm forgetting somethings or place the expression in the wrong place...

  The percentile is a standard object, and it is not allowed to add it to a conditional line of commands. As a result, their not all connected to each other through ' placing them in the same command line. I hope I'm being clear.

  How this action Standard (%) is related to the events in the file conditional line, you initially create? the last part, that I got was the part 'show '.

  When I get to the part 'show' conditional events and be prepared to add a 'standard' it opens a new set of commands to be applied. How is it that these actions are related to the same line of Board actions, I created? What I am doing wrong?

  I also tried, while remaining in the part 'show' of the line of conditional events. by clicking in the 'IF' part and which actually hide or overlap so that you get a hidden part or a continuation of the line of action, but I don't think that I'm just doing.

  As I have already answered in other messages: your question can be understood (and I'm someone who know a bit about advanced actions) as a result of your use of terminology and a rather confusing way of writing on this issue. Here some examples:

  • first paragraph: TFScore, assume that it is a variable that you included in a container of text (legend or form)?
  • second/third paragraph: "expression": what do you mean? Expression is a statement/command that can be used in a tip action, you're talking about that?
  • third paragraph: "wrong place" are you talking about this command sequence in a tip action?
  • 4th paragraph: "percentile" = standard object, that is? Stock items are listed in the Insert, Standard objects option, you talk about what? I think that it is a variable, but is not a standard object, and it is just my intuition which is now staggering when I read your questions. Each standard object can be added to drop-down lists in advanced actions, provided that the command can be applied to this object (like hide, show...)
  • 5th paragraph: "action Standard related to the conditional line of the event" even my intuition of Captivate is to abandon?
  • 6 paragraph 'see the part of the line of conditional events' I get crazy, big headache and stops...

  Just for the record: as a teacher of long date, I especially to guess a question after the first few words student pronounced, even when presenting at international conferences. But with you I feel like a stupid fool, stupid. Maybe the stem will understand what you want, my lack of English is perhaps the cause?

• Using variables & shares advanced Captivate 6

  Hello

  I'm working on a project with only 2 slides.  The second slide has a folder with 8 tabs.  When the user clicks on the tab for information tab appears and a check mark appears on the tab to let them know the tab has been seen.

  

  I used variables and standard actions to make the correct text and completion work coches (nothing wrong with that)

  

  After that the user has seen all the tabs I didn't it must seem strange that nothing else happens or confuse the rest of the course (British Colombia, there is no quiz or interaction - I just need them to read the info).  I created a conditional action to 'Thank you for taking this course' appears and a play button for learners to understand the course is completed.

  

  The conditional action indicates whether each variable is equal to 1 (because variables start at 0 and change in 1 click on) it shows the message of thanks and the BACK button (I disabled the buttons of visibility on them) and condtional action added to the slide itself.

  

  I don't know why it does not work!  I even displays the variables on the screen to ensure that they evolve all at 1 when you click on and they are, but the text button and replay thanks are not displayed.  What I am doing wrong?  I'm captivate in version 6.0.1.240.

  That was my thought as well.  Because you appear not to leave the slide until all tabs have clicked, it would only seem to be click events available to trigger you actions.

  If I had to create this interaction, I would have used Actions conditional Advanced executed by clicking on each tab and not just the Standard Actions.  The first part of the CAA would be to show the relevant tab and hide all others, and then the next part of the CAA would be to check if all variables have been set to 1.

• Under click button Image to extern links. file - but then advances before a slide...

  I have a button image that links the success of an extern. file - that is an index/glossary of the modules of the project. However, when you click it, the project goes forward one slide. I would like the project to stay on the same blade when you click on the button ' Glossary/index', rather than advance forward. Someone knows how to do this?

  No, each advanced in Captivate action must be triggered by an event. And unlike that in Flash, where you have an OnEnterFrame event, this event does not exist in the CP. I've listed by the CP events available in the presentation in this blog:

• When you import Powerpoint to Captivate 5, I have problems with the advancement of the slide.

  I keep running into a problem when I import a powerpoint (mac 2011) slide in Captivate. I always select 'advance slides of mouse click', but for some reason any 1st slide always plays automatically and moves to the 2nd slide without any pause to click. All other slides await clicks before moving forward. I don't know there's a really obvious answer to this problem. Any ideas?

  Captvate only adds a click box to each slide so that clicking anywhere triggers the jump.

  Why not just add your own box of click to the first slide?
