  I am currently faced with support of challenge, a small network with sbs 2011 in place.  All users are mac-based and therefore they interactively connect with domain name because it is not configured in this way.  Many of them work remotely and moves so I want less headache as much as possible.  By the way e-mail service has been outsourced so DC does not relate to trade within the network, but everyone is set up with electronic mailbox.  The domain controller is configured with a network policy to force users to change their password every 90 days, but I have been informed that they have never obtained any alert / notification to reset.  Has anyone used Netwix before app password?  Other recommendations?

• SG300-20 - configure DHCP on the interface VLAN

  I have read the different partners of the discussions on the SG300 and SG500 going on regarding the high setting of VLAN and DHCP on VIRTUAL networks.  For some reason, I could not get even this simple task to work.

  First thing I did was update my version firmware and boot as follows:

  SW version 1.3.7.18 (date of 12 January 2014 time 18:02:59)

  Start the 1.3.5.06 version (dated 21 July 2013 times 15:12:10)

  HW version V02

  When I rebooted the SG300 after the SW/Boot updates the boot configuration has been crushed and I had to configure my switch from scratch.  The intention is to have two VIRTUAL networks:

  VLAN 1: all the devices, servers, etc.

  VLAN 2: subnet basis which distributes DHCP addresses

  The SG300-20 is connected to a router Asus RT-AC66U on the 192.168.1.x subnet and provides access to the internal network and WiFi access (IP address of the router is 192.168.1.1 and the default gateway).  Everything works without any problem.  So my task is simply to create 2 VLANS on 192.168.2.x subnet and use DHCP to assign addresses.  I spent many hours on it and I still can't get it to work.  When I connect a laptop to the port (GI8) assigned to 2 VLANS, I end up finding a few wobbly 169.254.x.x address.  I definitely thought something would not 'easy' that hard to set up, but apparently I was wrong.

  The SG300 is running in mode L3 as shown in my running-config below.

  Someone gets to see something which could prevent my client from the laptop to receive the interface VLAN 2 DHCP IP addresses that are not on the 192.168.2.x subnet?

  Any ideas / suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

• L3 - SG300 - 28 p and DHCP

  Hi all

  I'm having a bit of difficulty up a SG300 - 28 p to L3 and DHCP. I will attach a basic network diagram and a very short list of my needs.

  I'm building a temporary network for a company event 1 day that I can't make it work in our office "Lab".

  L3 - SG300 - 28 p connects to our provider using a connection of the SFP.

  I have to be able to address IP DHCP 300 + using the SG300 - 28 p

  My problem is that I can ping my 2 machines test (manually configured IP) about 172.16.0.3 and 172.16.0.4, but cannot ping after the (internet) referral. Also DHCP distributes no intellectual property for the range 172.16.0.10 - 172.16.1.200

  VLAN 1 is set to 10.2.2.20 access port (to the provider through a connection on port 28 FPS)

  VLAN 100 is 172.16.0.2 access port (ports 1-26)

  I have the WLC and WAP tri...

  Is the set of even possible? I know that the EQ network is a bit budget for users, but for a one day business event I just do not have a budget for the purchase of switches better.

  With the information that you have provided, it seems the only part missing is the way return the unit for service providers. Unfortunately there is no way around that, and no, you will not be able to put anything between the two, because the device doing the NATting is unity of suppliers.

  I think that what is happening is that traffic is actually the side provider, but there is no way to do so as soon as the provider is not a route for the subnet in 172.16.x.x.

  Out of curiosity, why do you use a VLAN for the devices connected to the SG300? Could you use the 10 subnet Ip addresses? If you do this, you will not need to have a route back from the supplier, as all devices will be on the same subnet.

  Hey guys, anyone having trouble getting a SG300 series pass to insert information from option82? I have Working DHCP relay between two VLANs successfully, however, I want to identify where the client is connected in order to define their preferences for optimal routing.

  To my knowledge, you have everything configured properly. I would try to set up packet capture on the switch to the position to interface to the DHCP server to see if the information is included in the DHCP Discover message.

• How to configure server DHCP of VMware Server 2 to play nice on my network?

  I have 8 physical systems running on a network.

  A system running VMware Server 2 on it.

  Server DHCP of Server2 provides virtual machines with IPs on the 192.168.106 network and they all work fine, all virtual machines find each other and physical systems too.

  My wireless router is a DHCP server which provides boxes of physical IPs on the 192.168.2 network and works very well between physical systems.

  The problem occurs when a physical systems trying to access a virtual machine.

  All virtual machines are set to run in NAT mode, I tried no succcess one either bridged mode.

  The VMs system static IPs on the 192.168.2 network also fails miserably as all of my attempts to set masks subnet on all systems.

  I think I need to 'fix' the VMware Server 2 DHCP server, but have not yet find data on this topic, and I'm not sure that if I do this will help.

  Any solution here would be FANTASTIC.

  Past esxi was not really going to do this I feel even if you have not installed - it is really intended for high-end package rather than SATA based servers while sort will work on some.

  Their reason to exceed the NAT is filled? If you want to that virtual machines at all simply appear as regular machines on your existing subnet then packed is the easiest way to go because virtual machines must be able to obtain their IP addresses of your router, as well as physical boxes.   So, if you want to go to bridge, we need to understand why this does not work as it should be "out of the box" as long as there is no any firewall host or other security software, for example the clients VPN, which will block traffic. What is the host operating system? Please post ipconfig/all or ifconfig - an output of the host and the guest. How have you configured in bridge network - using the default settings? Virtual machines get an IP address from your router?

  Hi, I was wondering if someone could set up the Jabber client Mac 8.6.2 to use the server of presence of WebEx Connect with a local farm the CUCM and connection of the unit. The tab preferences accounts show or allow the addition of voice services. I added work CUCM preferences plist file local, which, according to me, are the correct entries, however I still can't see the accounts under the Preferences tab.   You must connect to your Webex portal and activate these settings to connect.  Once they are allowed, log out/log in Connect and you should be able to configure CUCM TFTP, etc..

  The switch MAC address is XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:63

  When the client sends traffic destined for Internet MAC address in outgoing packets is XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:63

  But in incoming packets the source MAC address is XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:69

  Why change? And how can I set the switch to use MAC XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:63 address?

  I finished the event and found that it does not change as expected. When you use the switch to Layer 3, routing, with or without him as your default gateway, it will happen.

  I tested two different VLAN in two different ways, and every time that I ping via the switch to a different subnet, the MAC source on the return package was different on the last two. This is due to the fact that the return traffic through a different interface on the switch.

  I administer more than 140 computers mac, with firefox installed. Unfortunately, it seems like a daily appearance when a user calls and says that firefox is updated, listen to which they can't because they are not administrator accounts.
  Now, I use apple remote desktop to turn off auto-updated for many other applications such as software update, microsoft office and adobe. Unfortunately since firefox does not use a standard plist file on mac I can't use default to write preference remotely.
  Question: Is there a way to write to the config of firefox via command line, so I can turn off auto-updated mass instead of having to touch to each computer and do change in the GUI?

  I created MAC address filtering on the wireless router.  5 MAC addresses added to the ALLOWED list, by selecting from the available devices.   Saved the changes.  Now, none of the machines can connect to the access point.  This includes the PC that I use to connect and administer the access point.  I plugged the network cable directly to my PC to manage the router/access point.  Still not able to connect.  That's happened?  How can I go and turn off this nonsense.  I know that MAC filtering is moot wrt efficiency, but I decide to try it.

  Having used both for a number of years, there is less difference between the platforms these days, and most of the frown is down of snobbery in most cases! Yes, there can be some problems of compatibility with the formats of hard drive, but it be overcome quite simply.

  There are a few programs that works only on one platform and not the other, that could be a problem, but I have only met 1 problem in more than 20 years, which could not be solved easily.

  The keyboard layout seem to confuse some people, (location, etc.), like the Ctrl/Cmd, script button Option/Alt. There are a lot of differences between the two lists, with Apple themselves have a support section from Windows, with software that transfers your files etc too!

  However, at the end of the day, you should work with the one that you feel best with and not let other people tell you what you should use.

  Cheaper to use a PC too!
