SG300 Setup question

Hi and thanks for reading.

I have 3 sg300 switch/routers, I'm trying to set up and I have a few questions. This is how I have it set up so far.

SG300 #1 mode layer 3 (router) with spf ge27 connected to our switch through fibers. have set up 2 VLANS (vlan1 10.10.0.1 device ip value) contains all the unidentified ports. (vlan200 ip 172.30.0.30 the value contains the ge27 port). our main hp curve pro is 172.30.0.1.

second sg300 #2 (layer switch mode 2) a fiber connecting port 10 to 28 of the first sg300 port. This one has 1 vlan with ip defined on 10.10.0.3

third sg300 #3 (layer switch mode 2) a fibre port connected to the port the second sg300 also with 1 9 vlan, ip device set to 10.10.0.4.

After you add the declarations of good road to the first device I can ping to all remote subnets and receive answers from one of the devices. everything seems to be working but having a weird problem. I can't device managed on the basis of 2 or 3 (interface) web from anywhere that directly connected to one of the 3 devices. I can handle the device one from anywhere.

Not sure if it's the correct configuration or what Miss me to be honest.

Thank you

On the 2 switch, the switch must have a default gateway specified in order to manage from a different subnet.

My apologies if this has been asked before, but I have a few questions on setup of my new switch and network. I've never worked with before switches, so it's quite a learning experience. The image above shows the current provision of my network. Here's how I tried to implement, so far.

    VLAN 1 [1-4 Ports, unidentified, trunk] (172.16.1.1/24)

    Workstation A (wired)

    172.16.1.2/24

    Server B (wired)

    172.16.1.3/24

    VLAN 2 [Ports 5-8, unidentified, trunk] (172.16.2.1/24)

    Server C (wired)

    172.16.2.2/24

    Server (wired)

    172.16.2.3/24

    Server E (wired)

    172.16.2.4/24

    Server F (wired)

    172.16.2.5/24

    VLAN 3 [9-10, unidentified, trunk Ports] (192.168.1.1/24)

    G laptop (wireless)

    DHCP through a router

    H laptop (wireless)

    DHCP through a router

    Laptop I have (wireless)

    DHCP through a router

    Wireless router

    192.168.1.254/24

Now, my goal is to have all 3 VLAN power talking to each other but also have VLAN 1 access to the internet through the wireless router. In the future, I also Server B to be able to expose services (http and ssh) outwards. VLAN 2 should not have access to the internet at all. I know that I can add static to the wireless router, if necessary routes. All three laptops, can access the internet via the wireless router, with no problems.

    So my questions are:

    (1) is there something inherently wrong with the design of this network? If so, what could be changed?

    (2) 3 VLAN isn't really necessary?

    (3) what I need to do, to get the 3 VLANS communicate with each other?

    (4) what should be the doors, to get internet access 1 VLAN?

    (5) what would need to do, to expose services from Server B to the outside?

    (6) what static routes can I add?

    Thanks in advance!

    Jer

    Hello Jeremy,.

I think that the problem is probably in the router does not route traffic to the switch. That no interface you specified in your career? Once the routing works, DNS should also work.

  • LACP hash between N3048 and CISCO SG300/SG200 + question Twinax attach direct cable

    Hello

In my network I have deployed two new N3048 with 2 transceivers SPF + and SPF module back + as core switches are connected to other 3 switches from edge of N2048 using optical fiber and I reused my previous CISCO SG300 and SG200 goes to serve the other two boxes of my campus via the spine in copper.

I have 4 copper cable which starts from the hub of the SG300 network and 2 the SG200 brass. I set up to have a redundant connection using 2 + 2 with SG300 and 1 + 1 with SG200 RSTP.

So for the SG300 I re LAG + LACP to have two channels of the N3048s port, but now that a single cable is connected because I don't know what kind of LACP hash mode should I put on N3048 to have a compatible hash between Dell and Cisco switches.

My N3048 have mode 7 (Advanced hash) as default but I guess that cisco models do not understand... so, what mode is the best for LACP work perfectly with small business cisco switches?

I also received my twinax cables to connect my two N3048 via SPF + back modules... conhot can I plug the cables into the slots SPF + (already mounted) without turning off my basic switches?

    Thank you!

    See you soon

Cables can be connected/disconnected, but I don't know if the real module SFP + for the rear of the N3000 is hot plug.

  • How to track down the STP with SG300-52 questions and SG300-28 - the command debug debug mode password?

    Hello *.

actually, I'm trying to track down and identify serious problems of STP loop to my switch tree SG300-xy.

For further investigation, I would use the CLI debug mode but unfortunately the

    debugging

debug mode command is password protected. I always "DEBUG password: *" :-((

Could someone please help with the password of the SG300-xy switches with 1.3.0.62 firmware debugging it please?

Thank you very much in advance for your help and your response!

    Best regards
    Matthias

Hi Matthias, debugging is to engineer end only, it has no practical use.

Also, if you are unable to go to the debug console, it is unsupported.

I don't know how you can have a loop spanning trees like the tree covering weight stops redundant links. So I think that you are either using BPMH and incorrectly labeled regions or added a vlan incorrect or these switches connect in a device that is not active PLEASE and causing the transfer of issues like that.

Quite honestly if you have a loop of network which is so bad, the best thing to do is to unplug the 1 wire at a time until you see what link has caused.

  • SG300-28 questions - InterVLAN routing

    Hi all

I am trying to switch SG300-28 place and do work for several days, with a very simple configuration, but this device is just to stuborn giving me headaches. I hope that you will tell me a solution to my problem.

So I configured the VLAN on the switch, assigned to all ports, given IP addresses for VLANs, etc.. But I digress not test phase where I try to rattle of two stations of different VLANS.

I have pictures of the attached current configuration. Stations are on ports 4 (VLAN4) and port 15 (VLAN3). First good 192.168.30.x a station address with the default gateway 192.168.30.1. Second station address of the 192.168.5.x and gateway 192.168.5.1. The two stations can ping the two gateways, but not eachother. Traffic within a VIRTUAL local network works fine, so routing is the most obvious problem.

    There is no active ACLs.

Please see attached photos and give me something to try, because I spent three days to experiment without luck!

One of the biggest mistakes I see relies on 'ping' to see if things work. Do not forget that the 'ping' sends a request to echo, that does not force the customer to send and echo response. Ensure that stations are configured to respond to pings or try to access a share, or a service configured on clients. Another thing to consider, that the client ports access ports and not General, this can be a problem, but it should be allowed, as is.

On a side note, the current configuration you cannot access anything out in the cloud. If you need to access cloud do not forget to add a default route on the switch.

    I hope this helps!

  • WLC 5508 w / 1042-initial Setup Question

I have to do an installation from scratch and was looking for some suggestions as a basis for the configuration. I have a 5508 I have to belay 6509.

I have to get up 16-1042 model APs.  I will support many customers - scanners of bar codes, phones, iphones and laptops with WPA2.  I have to create 2 local networks without wire - one for DATA and for a hotspot.

Does anyone have a basic configuration that they can share for both the WLC and 6509 configuration?  Someone at - it a 'from' scratch version doc process they could share?  Someone at - it a version of code recommended?

I downloaded the 7.0 Configuration Guide but was hoping to get some guideance real world also.

    TIA,

    Amir

    Hello

Well, from version 7.0, is the last it is good to start from it.

    First implementation of 5508:

    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/7.0/configuration/guide/c70mint.html.

I advise you to read carefully this section which explains the details and best practices to configure WLCs ports and interfaces.

Regarding the config guides, I advise you to go through the design guide:

    http://www.cisco.com/application/pdf/en/us/guest/netsol/ns279/c649/ccmigration_09186a00808d9330.pdf.

    And examples of configuration:

    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6366/prod_configuration_examples_list.html.

They are valid for all WLC models.

They are based on the configuration and very good examples.

  • VLANS, DHCP, subnet, gateways and Multipathing Setup Question

Hi, I have a House VI3 test network configured like this:

    Netgear wireless router,

Adapter plugged into Port A1 of HP Procurve wireless game layer of 4000 M 2 switch with 802. 1 q (provides the uplink to my router upstairs that serves internet)

VLAN by default 1 is 192.168.1.X/24

On this switch, I have 2 ESX boxes with 4 cards each, Openfiler iSCSI target and a Windows XP Pro box running my Virtual Center.

I have a Virtual Machine that running SBS2003 with also serves as my DNS server and my DHCP server.

    SBS2003 - 192.168.1.6

    Gateway (router Netgear) 192.168.1.1

    ESX1 - 192.168.1.10

    ESX2 - 192.168.1.11

    XP Pro - 192.168.1.50

Well, with that of the road, my question is I want to set up a VLAN on my switch Procurve to separate traffic by default network, iSCSI and vMotions traffic.  By ESX Server best practices. to install a second Nic vKernel or SVC Nic console, they must be on a separate subnet with a defined gateway.  If I create a new vLAN for iSCSI and assign a network adapter, the network traffic will not be able to see my gateway. I also need my DHCP server to receive requests from any computer on any vLAN individual and issue a corresponding IP address.

Now, what should I do?  If I create a vLAN Tirtiary or the second, I'm not able to see the DHCP server of these VLANS?  I can only UNTAG a port in 1 vLAN and port of marking abandon any connection to my DHCP server.  On this switch I assign IP addresses for individual VLANs, but this did not help.  DHCP isn't bradcasting across multiple VLANs. Am I missing a piece of hardware to provide ACLs or something?

I don't know where to go from here, please help.

    Hello

To route between VLANs, you must be a switch of layer 3, is a router configured as "a router on a stick", which is essentially a port of the switch, configured as a trunk, connected to the router that is configured with a number of interfaces, one for each VLAN so that it can route traffic between the VLANS. Now create a VLAN for VMotion traffic is fine as has no need to be routed. The VLAN for iSCSI and VLAN to the Service console will have to be sent to iSCI work properly. DHCP can work through several VLANS but need aid IP to be configured on the switch.

I just bought a new m225dw printer and I am trying to set up the Email scanning function and I have big problems. When I open the wizard and it asks me to select the printer, it is showing that I have two new printers connected, choose one of them gives me a message "error communicating with the printer". The other allows the wizard to open and continue. When you enter in the wizard and enter my gmail address and password, etc. and then click on save and test returns the message "printer cannot find the remote server. If I come back and use the ip address of the SMTP instead, it returns the message "rules and procedures for the transmission of data between the server and the printer don't are not supported on the server."

Please let me know any suggestions that this function was one of the reasons why I bought this printer model.

    Advice would be useful?

    Carl

Have you been asked to a Jdev installation folder in?

You have another installation of Oracle on this pc?

I never heard of puff, a folder named .oracleprinters, but it can be created by the installer itself. If it is empty, you can remove it and try again.

Did you start the installer as an administrator?

  • Java card confusing questions! Java Card architecture, advantage!

    ISSUE - 1
As I know about architecture of any application is -
//normal java software                          java card                                  java card
                      //  1                                               2                                      3
1-            application program                        host application                           host application
    2-                     JVM                                   Applets                                       Applets
    3-              operating system                JCRE(which contain all classes, JVM ....)                 JCRE(act as a O.S too)
    4                    hardware                              Operating system                                 H/W
    5                                                                        hardware
What you think about case 2 is right? or 3!
I think that - case 3 is right!
I studied from several sources, the JCRE is the complete package - it behaves like an operating system and use the functionality of the component it contains. I also think that if I buy a java from any vendor card, he would have JCRE inside (means everthing inside), I only need to develop the applet according to my requirement and install it by card setup

QUESTION 2 - What is the advantage of java card. ?
    // I think.
as i read out , i got the line that it is platform independent and support multiple application. applicaton point of
view , I am agree but how it is platfrom independent. if we use java card for smart card development, then
i will purchase Java card from differnt vendor , all will provide me card with supported jcre inside it, so why
     this is advantage here?
// in case of window based application , it really make sense  because if i will make any window application with java
// i can run it in windows , linux , unix and most of os flavours, here i can see the beauty of java language.
Clear me this and add some other java card advantages, which make java card good
    question 3-
Now I am capaple to make simple applets, so I want to check the entire java card process atleast once before
going in deep of something, I am thinking to implement prepaid card concept , i made it applet for it ,it will
contain a page with 2 text box ( 1- for recharge 2- for money deduction ) and two button , with button click i
want to select the applet and want to pass the apdu.
( a) how i can make host window application ? (i think awt will work for me? , *
i never make any java window application yet) *
( b) still i dont have any java card , i want to make it by using simulator, is it possible?
      (c) in this scenario what framework i need to study Ex. Import javacard.framework.* for making
applet or from where i need to start.

    Hello

so why should I use applet concept here OR WE can't USE APPLET CONCEPT THERE! We will go to c code to implement...

Yes, you can also write cmdlets in C. But in this case you also need mechanism by you that you will be able to convert your code in the .cap file and install it on the map.

so I think that a card that does contain no JCRE, should not be called a java card. RIGHT?

    Yes, he called card native.

or if a card is a java card must contain jcre and I need to write only applet here. RIGHT?

Any card that can be programmed in a java programming language is called a java card. And to execute/interpret java byte code on the card, you will need something like JCRE/JVM on it.

s This also possible case that a map is a java card, which contains no JCRE (jcre also contain JVM) java applet concept but is there? I think that it is impossible

    Already answered above.

a card that contains your own OS (written in c) does not support the concept of the applet, here you must omit concept applet and should just your own program to manage the apdu. right?

Either way, applet is also a program and when card java, it supports only a subset of the standard programming lauguage.
Yes, you can name what you want :)

Java card cocept is costly because here you use other OS and OS MEANS EVERYTHING, RIGHT so U NEED HIGH pay to OTHERS a (OWNER JAVA)?

Are the manufacturer must also bear the cost of the license also. But in my view, it is inexpensive because of its more services and features.

You will find what is connected 2960 on gig1/0/51 on the switch. It could be the loop of packets in the network.

Provide output 'show cdp neighbors' 2960 switch.

Also is you can update a topology diagram to know what devices are connected to 2960 on gig1/0/51, gig1/0/16, gig1/0/34, gig1/0/27, gig1/0/25 etc...
