Sharing internet connection with VPN in Windows 8
Previously with Windows 7, I put my VPN to share its connection to the Ethernet port on my laptop. So whenever it connects to the internet, my Xbox would take the connection too via Ethernet connected by VPN. But now after the upgrade to Windows 8 Pro, I did the same thing, but the Xbox, or any other device that connects to my Ethernet port does not receive any internet connection, even if they do not recognize that they are connected to a network, but not to the internet. I also noticed that I can not customize the settings of network similar to that of Windows 7 where you can choose between home and professional Public and also to manage network access points where you can merge or delete network locations.

Sharing internet connection with satellite receiver
Hi, I have Windows 7 and I go on vacation. I intend to get a wifi dongle and take my satellite receiver with me that requires internet access via its ethernet connection. Is there a way I can connect the RJ45 cable to my laptop and share the internet to the area of Sam? I discovered how do with two computers, but this seems different because I don't have the same options in the Sat receiver to set up. Only basic network settings. Thank you

My Airport Extreme connected my IMac immediately, but I am not able to connect on the side PC. Airport utility does not 'no matter what Airport wireless devices". When you check the status of the internet connection with PC tools, the correct network is indicated and shows an excellent signal strength. The status is: "absorbing the network address. However, nothing happens.
Under 'Repair the wireless network connection', it shows, "Windows is taking the following steps: your IP address renewal" even once, nothing happens.
Under hardware I show Atheros Wireless Network Adapter and the mention: "this device works correctly.
Yet, no network connection. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Hello
Keep the changes and open the wireless. For example, to disable security in the router (turn on when to managed to connect).
You can also try the wireless in a friends house, or an Internet café to get a frame of reference for this behavior elsewhere.
-------------------
Wi - Fi in general.
These steps and tell us where is the breaking point.
Check the Device Manager for the wireless card valid entry.
http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_dm.jpg
If there is no valid entry, remove any entry from fake and re - install the drivers for the wireless card.
Check network connections to make sure that you have a network icon/entry wireless connection, and that the properties of the icon (right-click on the icon) are correctly configured with the TCP/IPv4 protocol in the properties of network connections.

The wireless card drivers much also install utility wireless of the seller.
Make sure that if there are teas from Wireless Utility of seller does not work with the native Windows wireless utility (Service WLAN).

Make sure you firewall No. preventing / blocks wireless components to join the network.
Some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled).
If possible set up the firewall correctly, otherwise totally uninstall and get rid of its remaining processes that permit the own local network traffic flow.
If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .
party like Hello and NetMagic 3rd network managers can block local traffic too.

Stack TCP/IP work should look like.
Right-click on the wireless network connection card, select status, details and see if she got an IP address and the rest of the settings.

Description is the data of the card making.
The physical address is MAC of the card number.
The xx must be a number between 0 and 255 (all xx even number).
YY should be between 0 and 255
ZZ should be between 0 and 255 (zz all the same number.)
The date of the lease must be valid at the present time.
* Note 1. IP that starts with 169.xxx.xxx.xxx isn't valid functional IP.
* Note 2. There could be an IPv6 entries too. However, they are not functional for Internet or LAN traffic. They are necessary for Win 7 homegroup special configuration.
---------------------------------------------------
A message in the small window that says connected wireless doesn't means that you are really a valid functional connection.
Above everything is OK, you must be able to connect to the router.
Connection to the router means that you can enter the IP of the router base in an address bar in one go, being able to connect and configure the router menus see.
If it doesn't connect to the router, journal newspaper from any computer that can connect to the router wirelessly with a wire, disable wireless security, make sure that the wireless SSID broadcast is enabled and try to connect with no. wireless security.
Enable security wireless after you eat to make a functional connection.

RV082 and Windows 7, no internet connection with active firewall
Hello
I have a 1.3.98 - tm firmware RV082 and have recently upgraded several Machines to glass & RC for testing, but they can't access the internet.
They can access all the other mahcines internal, but cannot ping the router. The first Pc I upgraded was beautiful and accessible to the internet without problem.
The second started Ok but then loses the internet connection. It can access all internal machines and if I reboot it with XP (dual boot) it works fine. He has been an operational machine without problems netowrk for 2 or 3 years. I tried a diffetrn nic card and another cable froma different wall point in case there was a problem that XP could cicumvent and Windows 7 has been more difficult.
Now the second PC has started doing the same thing and wont connect to internet.
If I disable the firewall on the RV082 Windows 7 PC connect correctly. Can I wathc the tray icon of system on the State of PC modification simply chagnign the status of the firewall on the router.
Occasioanlly a PC will continue to work for a short period before losing internet again or blocked him. I have checkled newspapers and others are no entries in the standard newspaper.
I bypassed Vista Batteux ther so a setting or something I need to change on the window smachines, but as I have Windows 7 on test in withotu the Council to clarify a problem and my two lapotps and have connected through various cafes, Internet etc. even in Spain and Brazil without problem I tend to think it's a problem with the RV082.
Any ideas would be helpful?
Thank you
Kevin

Hey Kevin,
To clarify, we have not heard of this I didn't think (I am curious as well), did this start happening when you upgraded the computers?
Its sounds like it from what I've read, and also you can generate by activating and deactivating the FW on request, but this didn't happen until you have changed the PC SW?
If it does, then, looks like soemthing SW PC made and maybe you can endure a wireshark trace and try to sniff which continues when the PC tries to access the internet. I'm not asking to review track, only that it can help you. If you feel like it is a defect of the Cisco product, you can open a folder with the Small Business Support Center and they will watch the track with you.

Sharing internet connection from my laptop Sony VAIO Windows 7
Hello
I use a Modem of Dongle USB into my laptop which is a Windows 7 laptop, by which I connect to internet on my laptop. Now, I want to share this internet connection from my laptop with my Nokia Lumia 620. Please tell me details how to set up my phone as a wifi router. While my 620 Lumia cannot detect my laptop wifi signal.
Actually, to clarify, I want to use my laptop as a WiFi router to connect Internet to my 620 Lumia. That's all. Thank you.
Please note that I use the Dongle USB Modem for internet connection in my laptop and my laptop has WiFi support
Also, I tried to share internet from my laptop through the technology Intel® My WiFi for my Nokia Lumia 620 but when I tried to connect my phone sent me a message that says: "your phone could not connect to the WiFi network, because there is no response from the network. Please try again later.Hi Sajid,
Thanks for the reply.
There is no option/feature to share the internet connection between computer and mobile. As Ramesh, said that you will need to install any third-party program or app to perform the task. As I see you have answered in the response of Ramesh with the third-party application names. We recommend not all third-party programs for the task you are trying to run.
I suggest you to contact the Nokia support for assistance.

No Internet connectivity with ASA 5505 VPN remote access
Hello
I configured ASA 5505 for remote access VPN to allow a remote user to connect to the Remote LAN officce. VPN works well, users can access Office Resource of LAN with sahred etc., but once they have connected to the VPN, they are unable to browse the internet?
Internet navigation stop working as soon as their customer VPN connect with ASA 5505 t, once they are disconnected from VPN, once again they can browse the internet.
Not ASA 5505 blocking browsing the internet for users of VPN? Is there anything else that I need congfure to ensure that VPN users can browse the internet?
I have to configure Split Tunnleing, NATing or routing for VPN users? or something else.
Thank you very much for you help.

Salman
What you run into is a default behavior of the ASA in which she will not route traffic back on the same interface on which he arrived. So if the VPN traffic arrived on the external interface the ASA does not want to send back on the external interface for Internet access.
You have at least 2 options:
-You can configure split tunneling, as you mention, and this would surf the Internet to continue during the use of VPN.
-You can set an option on the ASA to allow traffic back on the same interface (this is sometimes called crossed). Use the command
permit same-security-traffic intra-interface

Difficulty accessing 1 remote desktop when connected with VPN
Hello world
I have an ASA 5505 and have a problem where when I connect via VPN, I can RDP into a server using its internal address but I can't RDP to another server using its internal address.
One that I can connect to a an IP of 192.168.2.10 and I can't connect to a a 192.168.2.11 on 3390 port IP address.
The two rules are configured exactly the same except for the IP addresses and I can't see why I can't connect to this server.
I am also able to connect to my camera system with an IP on port 37777 192.168.2.25 and able to ping any other device on the network internal.
I also tried ping he and Telnet to port 3390 without success.

Ok
So, basically, you set up the router so that you can directly connect to the ASA using the Cisco VPN Client. And also, the goal was ultimately only allow traffic to the LAN through the VPN Client ONLY connection.
It seems to me to realize that you have only the following configurations of NAT
VPN Client NAT0 / free of NAT / identity NAT
the object of the LAN network
Subnet 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0
network of the VPN-POOL object
subnet 10.1.1.128 255.255.255.128
NAT static destination LAN LAN (indoor, outdoor) static source VPN-VPN-POOL
The NAT configuration above is simply to tell the ASA who don't do any type of NAT when there is traffic between the network 192.168.2.0/24 LAN and VPN 10.1.1.128/25 pool. That way if you have additional hosts on the local network that needs to be connected to, you won't have to do any form of changes to the NAT configurations for customer VPN users. You simply to allow connections in the ACL list (explained further below)
Failure to PAT
object-group network by DEFAULT-PAT-SOURCE
object-network 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0
NAT automatic interface after (indoor, outdoor) dynamic source by DEFAULT-PAT-SOURCE
This configuration is intended just to replace the previous rule of PAT dynamic on the SAA. I guess that your router will do the translation of the ASA "outside" IP address of the interface to the public IP address of routers and this configuration should allow normal use of the Internet from the local network.
I suggest you remove all other NAT configurations, before adding these.
Control of the VPN clients access to internal resources
Also, I assume that your current VPN client is configured as full Tunnel. In other words, it will tunnel all traffic to the VPN connection, so that its assets?
To control traffic from the VPN Client users, I would suggest that you do the following
- Set up "no sysopt permit vpn connection"
- This will change the ASA operation so that connections through a VPN connection NOT allowed by default in order to bypass the ACL 'outside' interface. So, after this change, you can allow connections you need in the 'outer' interface ACL.
- Configure rules you need for connections from VPN clients to the "external" ACL interface. Although I guess they already exist as you connect there without the VPN also
I can't say this with 100% certainty, but it seems to me that the things above, you should get to the point where you can access internal resources ONLY after when you have connected to the ASA via the connection of the VPN client. Naturally take precautions like backups of configuration if you want to major configuration changes. If you manage remotely the ASA then you also also have the ability to configure a timer on the SAA, whereupon it recharges automatically. This could help in situations where a missconfiguration breaks you management connection and you don't have another way to connect remotely. Then the ASA would simply restart after that timer missed and also restart with the original configuration (as long as you did not record anything between the two)
Why you use a different port for the other devices RDP connection? I can understand it if its use through the Internet, but if the RDP connection would be used by the VPN Client only so I don't think that it is not necessary to manipulate the default port 3389 on the server or on the SAA.
Also of course if there is something on the side of real server preventing these connections then these configuration changes may not help at all.
Let me know if I understood something wrong

Sharing a connection with a possibly infected PC.
I have two computers, one of them may be infected.
If I use a hub to share the network connection (plug my modem cable to the hub and then connect each PC in this hub) and a KVM switch allows you to share external peripherals such as mouse, keyboard and monitor, will I have the own computer infected too?
I don't have a local network (actually I don't know exactly what is a LAN, but I guess that's something that needs to be put in place).
The own PC is a Vista, the other is an XP.
Thanks for your help.
TI computers are connected and sharing of files, then it is possible that infection from spreading (and it seems that you only use the hub/switch by your internet connection, I need you to confirm that) NEVER move you files between two computers by any connection you set up - is that correct? It seems relatively safe only share the internet connection (assuming that's it, that is - if you also share files between computers while the chances of infecting other computers are high). The switch for the devices will not cause a problem.
You should get the infected computer cleaned as soon as possible to make sure it's not more difficult to solve, because the infection (or starting to cause serious problems).

If these procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, good reputation and stand-alone computer (that is, not BigBoxStoreUSA or Geek Squad) repair facility.
I hope this helps.

Problems of Internet connection with a Satellite Pro A120
Hi, I do not know if someone can help me, but I thought that it was worth a try, because I'm desperate.
Basically, I can't here online with my computer.
I am currently away from home, back to my parent's House. I usually am on AOL dialup, they are on the same but with broadband, and until last night, I managed to use their connection high speed without any problems.
I've updated my AVG, and did an update windows yesterday.
Today while I was doing something, my screen AOL flashed upwards (disconnected) but I thought nothing of it, until what I tried to get online this afternoon.
Now, while I'm connected to broadband including wireless router controls and I said that I have a strong connection, I get up then a message of not being able to get an internet connection when I actually try and connect. I don't know if it's AOL or the computer, but because I can get on AOL by using the computer, my parents, I guess to it that I don't see that I did something to stop this connection.
When you try to sign in to MSN messenger I'm also coming with a message that says that my DNS is unable to resolve my IP address. I don't know if that makes no sense?
I tried to rebuild my log in the location using the AOL software, but it makes all the difference.
If anyone has any suggestions as to what could happen, or better yet how to solve, I would be REALLY grateful.
Thank you
Kat
First of all, you must check if one of you firewall don t lock you internet connection.
In addition, you need access to network connections and in the LAN and WLan connection, you should check the general tab-> settings/properties of Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
All (IP, DNS, Getway, etc.) must be set to automatically obtain the addressLast but not least, it would be appropriate to delete your AOL profile and configure everything again.
Good luck

No internet connection with C6300 only cable modem/router - No. Ethernet cable plugged
About once or twice a week I wake up my desktop PC and see an icon (bottom right) which indicates that I have no internet connection. When I run the troubleshooter network (right-click on the icon) it says to plug in my ethernet cable. I replaced the cable with another know good cable, but the problem continues to return (though intermittently). If I unplug the ethernet cable from the port of my C6300 Netgear and plug it back in the same or another port, the internet connection is restored. I'm on Windows 10 edition 64 - bit OS on my desktop tower PC (Dell). My internet provider is Cox Communications through their cable with up to 100 Mbps of speed. My Netgear firmware version is V1.02.20 to help you can provide me to solve this problem would be appreciated.
Well, it has been a few weeks of performance without error since I replaced the Netgear C6300. So I close this investigation as "FIXED."
