Sharing Internet on a laptop Wireless Windows 7 to Windows XP Desktop

Im trying to get my windows xp desktop computer to connect to my computer windows 7 which is on a wireless laptop with internet via. someone know how I can get my Windows 7 to share my internet for XP
I already have a wireless network with success and a network between 2 computers via ethernet connection

If I understand your question, the Windows 7 laptop connects to the Internet via a wireless network, and you want to share the Internet connection with the XP desktop computer.  Here's how to enable Internet connection sharing on the laptop:

  1. Press the Windows key + R .
  2. Type ncpa.cpl in the box and press enter .
  3. Right click on the wireless network connection.
  4. Click on Properties .
  5. Click sharing .
  6. Put a checkmark in the Internet connection sharing box.
  7. If it asks you to select a private network connection, select the connection to the Local network.

Then connect the computers using a wired Ethernet connection.

I hope this is the right forum. I'm a graduate student in the field of information TECHNOLOGY as well as a few certifications, so I'll have people ask me some questions on how to troubleshoot certain aspects of their computer. Given that I have not learned this yet, I'll paste the question in this case.

Then I went into the settings of my network to laptops and made a new internet, sharing network.

  • Sharing internet connection with VPN in Windows 8

Previously with Windows 7, I put my VPN to share its connection to the Ethernet port on my laptop. So whenever it connects to the internet, my Xbox would take the connection too via Ethernet connected by VPN. But now after the upgrade to Windows 8 Pro, I did the same thing, but the Xbox, or any other device that connects to my Ethernet port does not receive any internet connection, even if they do not recognize that they are connected to a network, but not to the internet. I also noticed that I can not customize the settings of network similar to that of Windows 7 where you can choose between home and professional Public and also to manage network access points where you can merge or delete network locations.

    @BedheadHusky

OOOha, the process too big, I struggled very and solve the problem with the following solution:
Just open space and restart services 'Internet connection sharing (ICS)"AFTER establishing VPN connection
or run the commands as administrator after HAVING establish VPN connection
    stop SC SharedAccess
    SC start SharedAccess
    It works for me.

You use a third-party anti-virus software to control your firewall?  If so, try disabling it temporarily.

  • Windows Vista update (August 2010) left my laptop could not connect to the Internet via my home wireless network

Yesterday, on August 13, I installed - as guest - a number of updates to Windows Vista on my laptop. It seems that most of them is security updates. There are 16 in total, of which 9 are titled "A security update for Windows Vista". (For reference, they include KB978886, KB982214 and KB2079403).

Since the completion of this facility, I can't access the Internet using this laptop. I have a wireless router that works very well. Our other two laptops families (using Windows 7 and other Windows XP uses) are the two beautiful connection today by using the wireless router, so I know that the rest of the installation is fine.

Immediately before installing updates, everything worked very well; Since then, the problem exists. I made no other changes of configuration, facilities or any measure that might have caused this.

Please tell us how I can remedy this problem. So far my best idea is to uninstall all updates. I really don't want to do it, because I guess they are important!

    Thank you!

Looks like you have a hijackware infection on your hands there, Tim. That being said...

Please try again later.

    Hi Sajid,

    Thanks for the reply.

There is no option/feature to share the internet connection between computer and mobile. As Ramesh, said that you will need to install any third-party program or app to perform the task. As I see you have answered in the response of Ramesh with the third-party application names. We recommend not all third-party programs for the task you are trying to run.

I suggest you to contact the Nokia support for assistance.

With respect to the sharing of printer (s), microsoft has a utility called 'Print Migrator'

What is the manufacturer and model of your laptop?

Visit their web page (the manufacturer) and find their drivers and help section and get the drivers for your model laptop for Windows XP 32-bit.

You, of course, this done from another machine and using some external media to get it back to the laptop.  You can get * just * wired or wireless network drivers if you wish - you can then use the Internet on the laptop again to get the rest.

  • After that Windows 7 conclusion "No Internet access" in the wireless network?

I have a USB wireless network card installed in my office. All judging by the "connected network" showed, that he manages to connect to my wireless router, with I can't visit all websites due to "free Internet access". Only if I move my router where (almost) no wall blocking the path between my office and the router, will be solved the problem.

There is no problems surfing the Internet using my laptop (Windows XP) and the iPad, which also connect to the router.

I don't know what "No Internet access" while "Connected network" appears. To understand this, perhaps I should know what Windows 7 draws the conclusion "No Internet access" to the wireless network.

Thank you, everyone. I managed to figure out the problem last night. With this document that I found by Googling, http://www.usb.org/developers/whitepapers/327216.pdf, I tried to disconnect my DVD ROM USB plugged next to my wireless network card and found that this really WORKED, although the DVD ROM is USB 2.0 instead of 3.0.

In addition, as Shawn "Cmdr" Keene [MVP] said, I really need to I ignore the message "connected network". I ran the Ipconfig/all command frequently and found that sometimes the IP address of my wireless network card was no longer * 192.168.0 and the gateway, and the IP addresses of the DNS servers are null, even if the message "Connected network" remained all the time.

Hope this helps others who also have this problem, even though my English is not very good. : )
