  • Shut down the system into hibernation during backup execution

Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition

Is it possible to stop my system from going into hibernation, while the backup is running?

    A full backup on my system takes 2 h - 200 GB +.
Incremental backups are very fast at about 6 minutes

I had my system go into hibernation twice while the backup is in progress
On his return to sleep extended shows backup as failed

    Ian Ian

    Thanks khaled

After my problems with Hibernate during backup I lived the settings advanced and arrested the previous day and hibernation.

I would have thought that sleep and hibernation should be a lot smarter now

Except when battery powered, there should be no reason why sleep and extended cannot be stalled while some system jobs are running.  Once finished, then leave the system from sleep or hibernation.

  • iPhoto book card and calendar each shuts down the system

iPhoto slide show and Album both work normally.  The book features, card & calendar show a loading... indication, but almost immediately the activity stops and no entry except force quit is available.  A problem report is generated.

A problem earlier with iPhoto had recently been resolved.  The problem and the solution are in the Discussion iPhoto 9.4.3 frequent crashes presented by iGardener December 14, 2015 and involves the removal of two of googlemap and S60v3.rar. html files The used at this stage iPhoto library is smaller... less than 200 photos.

The above solution made me very happy and grateful for the discussion forum.  I have this post in hopes that I can return these functions of iPhoto.

    Greetings from Jerry-a-Tic.

A solution to the problem that I reported when I continued to look for Discussions of iPhoto.  Specifically, MattyMiles interviewed on "iPhoto, photo books, calendars, cards of ' back on November 14, 2009.  A recommendation, due to old Toad, the user to verify the "Theme" folder to HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto has led to a solution for the problem I raised.

The Themes folder and the database file was, from its date, a new file, apparently created when I reinstalled iPhoto in a vain attempt earlier to solve the 'problem of crash induced Google'.  Fortunately, I had a copy of the folder themes, which turned out to be a backup.  Replace the existing folder and the Themes.db file to the location of the HD , solved problem.  A reboot is not necessary...

Thanks to MattyMiles and old Toad.

  • stop ID10T users of abandonment downloads by shutting down the computer or put it to sleep

    Key issue:
Short of locking all users of the computer, is it possible to use my admin account to stop temporarily to other users of the computer is shut down, put to sleep or into hibernation mode? At least until that I get home from work?

    Explanation:

Normally, all users should be able to put the computer into standby or turn off the console. I want that way normally. However, I share the computer with other people in the House and must work full time, leave the computer unattended during the day.

For the last three days, I tried to download a LARGE file from a slow server an approximate time of 6 hours. Oh, to add insult to injury I can't the server let me resume a download. To allow the user to get on the computer while I'm at work and by downloading the file, I used Fast User Switching (name of the XP, in case it's called something different to 7) to put the computer on the Welcome screen, while my regular account download.

For the past two days, despite myself, leaving a note saying: 'Do NOT stop the computer or put it to sleep', when I got home from work, the computer was off, and the download was incomplete. I got an explanation "you were always telling me to stop when I'm done, I did not forget at this time." Then today I started downloading two hours ago and was only asked "could I please verify my email address?", so I donnГ the computer. When she was done, she put the computer to sleep, which was just as bad as l ' turn off as much as to cancel the download.

Short of locking all users of the computer, is it possible to use my admin account to stop temporarily to other users of the computer is shut down, put to sleep or into hibernation mode? At least until that I get home from work?

    Hi jjackbcop,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are facing the issue with windows updates offer several times over and over again.

    Method 1:

I suggest you perform the clean boot and check.

After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    (a) click Start, run.

    (b) type msconfig and click OK.

    (c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    (d) click the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

Updates fail for a more likely reason.

Check if you have errors associated with updates?

    1. Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button, all programs and then click Windows Update.
    2. In the left pane, click view update history.
    3. Find an update for Windows that has failed to install, and then double-click the update to view more information. Updates that have failed to install will display failed under status, next to the name of update.
    4. In the Windows Update dialog box, next to the details of the error, review the error code for the update has failed.
    5. Follow the links in the dialog Windows Update under more information or help and Support to try to solve the problem, then try to reinstall the update by using Windows Update in Control Panel or to display error codes/messages and maybe someone may be able to help others.

Original title: Arcsoft mouse and Lenovo ThinkPad matching

I recently bought a Lenovo X 1 carbon and it's running windows 7 pro.  I tried to pair the mouse Microsoft Arcsoft Touch with this laptop and it worked.

Unfortunately every time that the computer sleeps or shuts down the mouse is more matched.  The only way I've found is to reconnect is to add it again as a new device.

IT appears in my device as; Manager

    (1) HID device

    (2) mouse

Neither gives me the ability to disable powersaving disconnect for this device (if it appeared in my Bluetooth radio devices I would try this)

There must be a way to get the computer to recognize and default to this unit?
