Hello

Remember to make changes to the computer in the past two weeks?

When your computer experiences an unrecoverable hardware or a software problem, Windows Vista stops or restarts your computer. There could be several causes for this problem; I suggest you try the following steps:

Step 1: Auditor of file system (CFS) scan to fix all of the corrupted system files. To do this, follow the steps mentioned in the link below:

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Step 2: Run the disk check to repair bad sectors on the hard disk.

a. Click Start, in the start search bar type cmd, right-click on the command prompt icon in the box programs and then click Run as administrator.

b. at the command prompt, type chkdsk /f and then press ENTER.

Now, type chkdsk/r

Note: CHKDSK would attempt to recover bad sectors on the hard disk, in the course of this process there are chances of DATA loss from that particular area.

Step 3: check the logs in Event Viewer for more information on this issue and let me know

Open event viewer

What are the information in event logs? (Event Viewer)

Step 4: You can see the steps outlined in the article below
How to fix BlueScreen (STOP) errors that cause Windows Vista to shut down or restart unexpectedly

  • macOS Sierra can fully shutdown

Hi, yesterday I just upgrade my MacBook Pro for macOS Sierra, when I shut down my computer, it can close all the application and turn my screen in the dark, but my apple macbook light logo still on. I have to press and hold the power button to shutdown entirely. Can you suggest me a solution for this problem?

    Thank you!

It is possible that your Mac is always indexing of files for Spotlight.

  • No restart or shutdown Sierra

I upgraded my MBP (mid-2015) to Sierra yesterday and now its not shut down or restart properly. Its get stuck on the black screen with nothing on it (not even a cursor). The display lights stays ON but nothing really from there, I even left there like that for more than 20 minutes. I Force shutdown by pressing the power button / stop for a few seconds.

Step 1. Reset a SMC; Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support

Step 2. Reset the PRAM but keep P-R-Opt-Cmd when you start. The MBP sounds once again, how you can release the keys.

Step 3. make a start by holding down the SHIFT key until you see the progress bar. Once you get to the login screen, you will see "Safe Boot" in red next to the clock.

Step 4. Reboot again and log in normally.

  • After the upgrade to sierra, shutdown is extremely slow

stop takes about 5 to 7 minutes. Screen will Dim, computer does not respond, but the stop takes 5-7 minutes. In the system log, no problems are reported.

I closed all the software running before shutdown (clamx-av, dropbox, owncloud), but no difference.

    Hi rmschaefer,

Thanks for the upgrade to Mac OS Sierra! Looks like your Mac takes a bit longer at the right stop. Great way to make sure that all applications are closed before you stop. You can try to check your Mac logs or startup items. Your item journal are applications that run as soon as you start up your Mac. They can run in the background continuously slow down your machine. Sierra macOS: If you think you have incompatible connection points

You can also check to see how much disk space you have on your Mac. With Mac OS Sierra, you can release and optimize your disk without effort space to allow your Mac to run to its full potential!  Information System for Mac: optimization of the storage on your Mac

If the release of disk space on your Mac and the removal of the login items not solve the problem, try to start the Mac in Mode safe.  Try safe mode if your Mac does not start-up

    What is safe mode?

Safe mode (sometimes called secure boot) is a way to start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks and prevents certain software from loading automatically or opening. From your Mac in safe mode does the following:
Check your startup disk and attempts to fix problems if necessary directory
    Loads needed kernel extensions only
Prevents elements start and the login items open automatically
    Disables the user installed fonts
Delete font caches, hiding the kernel and other files of the system cache
Together, these changes can help resolve or isolate issues related to your startup disk.

These measures should have your Mac off normally as expected and the Mac OS Sierra also runs fluid it is supposed to. Please use the Apple Support communities to post your question.
    Good day.

  • MacBook shutdown

When I confirm my macbook stopped can I close just the cover or what I should expect that the keyboard light? and both will result the MacBook at the stop or closing the lid will to sleep instead of shutdown?

    Hello

With El Capitan 10.11.6, I have to wait until the keyboard lights turn off and give about a minute or two before closing the lid. It takes a little more for some reason any for a full stop. I learned to confirm the stop and walk. Come back and close the cover later. Weird, but I don't let it bother me. Come to work with her.

    Bravo!

  • When I try to shut down my computer with Firefox running it hangs and stops the shutdown process.

When I try to shut down my computer with Firefox running, it does not close properly during the closing. Instead, it crashes (as described in this article) and will continue to do so until I have stop the shutdown process and close it manually, where it will still not respond. There is the substantive issue. Here is the list of the relevant data to identify more precisely:

On the list of programs is still active during the closure, the window of Firefox starts only appearing once as it should be, but a few seconds after starting to hang, it begins to appear a second time on the bottom of the list, with the specific name of the page is a duplicate of whatever it is on the original.

This problem does not occur in safe mode, but it is not caused by one of my addons either, as I figured out after disabling all my addons with tools > Modules rather than the safe mode and still the problem.

He is listed as that passes several times a week, but that is simply because that's how many times I forgot to close Firefox before pressing 'closed' and leaves the room without bothering to check it works. It happens whenever I try to turn off the computer with Firefox is running well.

See this article--> occurs not in Safe Mode

Check and say whether his work after turning off hardware acceleration.

  • Satellite Pro R50 - B Series 10 Windows shutdown problems

    Hi out there!

I wanted to just inform you on an enoying but reproducible BUG:

    Toshiba Satellite Pro R50 - B series:

You must disable the Intel Management Interface in the Device Manager in the contrary case, the computer laptop didn't shutdown completely / Standbymode will not work.

    Question (Bios V1.4 - Intel ME 11.00.1166):

Work more than 30 min. then try closing. Screen goes blank - but the LED on the stay before the fan stays on until the battery is completely discharged. Or try to go to sleep mode. Even the stop.

Just disable Intel ME Manager of year Windows devices you fine.

Waiting to hear from Toshiba - I m a reseller, so the same problem exists on > 10 notebooks here.

    Best regards, Bernhard

Hi, I have exactly the same problem with my Satellite Pro R50 and Windows 10.
Just installed the updated Toshiba Win10 drivers, but not a solution.
    Help, please!
    Best regards, Oliver

    EDIT: SOLUTION

  • Delayed start, shutdown procedure

I recently discovered that my beautiful satellite pro has developed a resistance to be shutdwn or restarted. Through the usual procedure is very slow. Start at the stop is ok, but to get the final options (box with restart, shutdown, is slow). No info on Google.

Explorer is faster than ever. I defragged, cleaned, checked for viruses, checked with systemworks, and everything is ok.

Windows 2000 and I am on the network with the XP computer.

The only other issue, since the definition to the network, is a tendency to lose the settings of the printer (against printer, references on not installed, although exclamation points that it works.) Printer is local and not on the network).

Any ideas would be welcome. It's a little scary, because he had control with Toshiba upward only a few weeks ago. The flaw with the stop developed after that. They recommend a complete reinstallation, of course.

    Hi ellen,.

like the guys from toshiba, I suggest you reinstall, too. After a while, an operating system becomes slower and slower due to misconfigured setting (no matter what settings) and the
Register to become more complete, and the system can make really weird things.

Thus, it would be good to backup you important data and reinstall windows with the recovery cd. After that, you should have somewhere clean and sober (from 3rd party software) system.
Would appreciate feedback if you do reinstall.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite L850-E8S - shutdown problems

    Hello everyone

I bought Toshiba Satellite L850-E8S with Windows 8.0 (for a single language) preinstalled in October 2013. At the moment I can't get stop normally.

Question: * pressing Shutdown (stop) of charms goes up "Windows is shutting down" and after that the screen turns off but power light is lit and the fan keeps operate.* I stop it by pressing the power button, I really want to quit smoking. (Once I didn't notice that and put the laptop in a bag for a few hours and it of a miracle that no equipment would have been burnt, despite the laptop was hot like the Sun) * the problem started after a month of use, and I didn't think her yet.*

First of all, I thought that the case concerns him * hybrid Shutdown in the Win8. I have visited many forums dedicated for hybrid stop, proven fruitless discussions. *! AND! I had the same problem on my laptop with a slight difference - loading Win7 and Linux * the monitor stays on (with the lights and the fan on either). *
Moreover, I also saw a BSOD after a day I bought the laptop. This problem concerned Realtek Audio driver and SRS Premium sound. As I understood the question is drivers conflict. Right now I have no installed Audio SRS premium and see no BSOD, but Realtek audio driver is not stable: the sound either begins to work in a few minutes after starting windows or it does'nt work at all.

First of all, I wish really that someone to help me with the shutdown problem. All tips are welcome.

    Hello

Check it please http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2B03EY0002R01.htm, change the settings described and try to turn off your computer is turned on on a regular basis.

  • Tecra Z50-to-17 t constantly freezes during shutdown

My new Toshiba Tecra Z50-to-17 t constantly crashes on shutdown.

At first I thought that it could connect to the Cisco all lie, as it appeared in the event viewer several times.
After I deleted it went well for a while, but now the problem occurred again, but this time there is nothing to see in the event viewer.

Can someone help me what is wrong and how can I fix it myself?

    Hi friendly smirou

The laptop has been preloaded with Win 7 64 bit system.
I guess that you are still using this system, I would recommend you to repair the system using the windows have auto repair function.

Start Notepad, and then press F8.
Now you should be able to access the Advanced menu.
Here, you can choose between different options.

You can choose the last known good configuration option.
You can also choose the first option to fix your computer, which will open the next window, where you can access the Startup Repair feature.
There, you might choose the Startup Repair option

Otherwise, it would be desirable to recover the computer laptop back to settings factory just to check if its a system single or maybe hardware problem related question

1 there was that when the shutdown command is given, the laptop will sometimes reboot mode and login screen appears after reboot.
    2. when the sleep mode command is given, sometimes it does go into sleep mode, but will rather to logoff mode and login screen appears.

Why the laptop is not running correctly orders related to sleep, stopping and restarting.

I have not changed the settings of the power buttons.

    Hello

Your laptop factory settings or you have installed the own operating system?

How to give you these commands especially for the mode command 'sleep'?
In front of me, I have Satellite Pro A300 with original preinstalled Vista. Everything works fine.

Using FN + F3 for computer laptop mode switch to "standby".
FN + F4 using portable switch into hibernation mode.

I tested the options for the power button / stop and the cover too. No problem at all.

  • NB200z shutdown problems

I am running XP service pack 3 with the NB200-z. This anomaly is intermittent, so it happens _most_ of the time, but not always (it does not seem to the use of a particular program in an obvious way).

During the shutdown to the bottom/hibernation or switch mode Eve anyway (closing the lid, pressing the power button / stop or start menu) it will close Explorer and all running programs and make it appear a window saying "prepare to stop" (or never, what state he's going in) and it just stays there. The mouse moves, so it did not freeze completely. By pressing ctrl, alt, del fails to bring up the Task Manager, so I don't see what is going on. At this point, my only option seems to be down the power button until the machine turns off.

Sometimes it will go beyond this point and the window disappears but it crashes and then completely on a blue background Uni where the same mouse cursor will not move. At this stage even once, I have to hold the power button until it turns off.

There are times where it will happen normally tap down and all the other computer functions seem to work very well?

I have looked around online to see if anyone else has this problem too, but have found no solution. Microsoft offers online that I disable the drivers one by one and keep close to see if it is a driver but I know it is damaging my HARD drive every time I turn off manually so I do not know what to do. I stopped him fine mode safe but it sometimes will vanish so fine...

I thought it's maybe someone knows of a recorder of closure that I can use to debug with? If I had a newspaper what file it broke so I could replace or remove the file?

Thanks a lot for your help :)

    Rob

Usually bad drivers or badly written apps cause a shutdown problem.

You have installed all the drivers recently? For example, a USB device or a printer?

    What AntiVirus you have installed?
