Your question is the same as here:

http://community.Skype.com/T5/Windows-desktop-client/my-Skype-interface-looks-like-a-Web-page/m-p/20...

Try to delete the C:\ProgramData\Skype\Apps\login folder, and then reinstall Skype using this ms - install:

http://download.Skype.com/MSI/SkypeSetup_6.10.0.104.msi

If this does not work, then uninstall the currently installed version and install the 6.9.0.106 previous version using this msi installer:

Just for the record, what is the version of Internet Explorer installed on your computer?

I got Catalyst 3550 which is connected via a USB-Serial cable, after 2 days has got to get it connected to the COMM port. However when I run my switch with SecureCRT open, it does nothing. Just a white screen.

Could not find good help online, may be new to the world of networks and research my problem with wrong keywords. Finally I thought to go to the CISCO forum looking for an answer to my problem...

    Everyone, please help!

    Much appreciated! :)

    Day 2

After a few hours of waiting and trying a few other things, thought to try if the COMM ports are working OK or not.

    Using Windows command prompt.

I remove the hard drive and attach it to your desktop and use the host operating system to run a check disk on your drive.  The laptop goes hard disk looking for instructions to start and he does not see the correct code.  This is probably due to a damaged boot sector.  Another idea is that your bios has changed and you have changed the SATA from AHCI to IDE type somehow or vice versa. You also left a non bootable disk in the DVD/CD drive.  Remove all disks from your DVD.

Can you boot into the BIOS screen (pressing F10 when booting) and check if the laptop can be started in it?

If so, I recommend to run the system diagnostics and check if the hardware on the unit works very well.

In case it does, you can check if you can press F11 and restore your computer to factory settings. Please make sure that you back up your data before performing a recovery.

    Hi Courtney,

This issue may have caused due to some missing or corrupted files in the computer. I would like to know some information about this problem so that we can help you further.

    1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    2. do you get any error code or error message while starting?

    3. are you referring to the Virus scan by "system scan"?

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it works for you.

    Method 1:

Run the troubleshooter of System Maintenance and check if it helps. This troubleshooting will help you find and fix common system issues on your computer.

Follow the steps to run the Troubleshooter:

    (a) press Windows + Q together get the search option.
    (b) the type of Troubleshooting on the search option, and then select Troubleshooting.
    (c) click show all on the left side panel.
    (d) click on The Maintenance of the system and follow the instructions to run the troubleshooter.

    Method 2:

Put the computer in a clean boot state, and check if the problem persists. This process will help you determine which third party/PPP program is causing this problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 or Windows 8 / 8.1:

  • blank screen with cursor after logging in to windows 7 pro 64-bit system?

The problem above has only begun wihin last week, until then the system worked perfectly for 18 months since the purchase. I did not the last changes made to the system or apply updates. The fine start pc, I select the user's profile, enter the password and then it goes to a white scree with a mouse cursor. It remains so for about 30 minutes, and then the desktop appears and works normally.

I ran diagnostics system, a virus scan using norton, tried loggin via safe mode, other user profiles, restore back to the right configuration of las don'tknow etc all with no fix. Since the research online, I realize a lot of people have the same problem, but I have not found any confirmed bugs. Given the number of problems reported I would have taken that there is an update/fix win7 for cause of ths.

    Hello

    1. you have an external equipment, connect to the computer?

    2. you receive an error message?

    3. what was the result in safe mode?

    Method 1

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you perform a clean boot and check.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    Method 2

If the previous step fails, see if the problem persists in the activation of the video mode low resolution (640 × 480) in the advanced boot options.

    Startup options (including safe mode)

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

If the previous step fails, check in the event viewer for the cause of the issue and after back with the results.

What are the information contained in the logs of the event (Event Viewer)?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-information-appears-in-event-logs-Event-Viewer

    I hope this helps!

  • Windows Vista - blank screen with only the mouse pointer at the start - tried everything

My laptop (Dell Latitude E6500) stopped recently begin correctly recently - one morning, he froze connection so I powered it off and then on again. When he started to I only got a backlit black screen with a mouse pointer - nothing works, clicking or Ctrl Alt Delete.

So far I have tried the following:
    • Dell Diagnostics tool - no problems found
    • Safe mode - the same thing happens in all modes of security
    • Restore the system using CD of Vista - no restore point
    • Repair the system using the Vista CD - no error
    • Essentially, nothing to do with the Vista CD solved the problem, so I tried the forums
    • I tried to rename the "Logs_bad" event logs and by creating a new "Log" folder in windows\system32\winevt\ - does not set it
    • "I renamed' software ' to 'software_bad' in windows\system32\config\ and 'software_previous' in 'software', as suggested Mr. Bakir in http://www.nuonsoft.com/blog/2009/05/02/possible-ksod-black-screen-of-death-solution-for-windows-vista/, but it did not work.
    • I also tried a few things with Regedit but not had any luck with doing work again.
    • I tried the trick of "StickyKeys" discussed on many forums, but this does not work - I had turned it off or the computer is not grateful for entry; I do not know
    • I copied explorer.exe working copies, taskmgr.exe and winlogon.exe from a broken computer work computer, it did not resolve anything.
Are there solutions more I can try? There must be something I can replace/remove/change in order to get Starter beyond this point where is seems to 'block '.
Install a fresh windows isn't really a preferred option.
Any help would be much appreciated

  • U2515H, black screen with error during startup until the Windows login screen

It is a half frustrating work situation.

    Was doing this:

display port HDMI card--> cable HDMI - HDMI--> HDMI U2515H port

This configuration has worked in Windows 7, with a 2560 x 1440 resolution reached.

However, when you perform a reboot of the machine, the screen went black and impossible to display the BIOS POST screen (these text showing the amount of RAM you have, what are the HD detected, etc.). In addition, there was an error message on screen, saying:

"The current moment of entry is not supported by the display. Please change your timing of entry to 2560 x 1440, 60 Hz or any other listed monitor calendar according to the characteristics of the monitor"

The message error and white screen persists until Windows loaded to the login screen. This means that I can't see even the Windows logo, or the safe mode selection screen if I press F8.

It's so no way for me to go into the BIOS to change any parameter, or do a boot was secure.

Tried to use a DVI-HDMI converter and also a DVI-HDMI cable to make use of the DVI port of my video card. Still the same error as above. Worse still, this implementation does not work in Windows 7, gives me a white screen.

I'm sure the DVI port on my video card works, cos it can work with my old Samsung monitor. Inspired by the present, the steps to be followed to the letter, may force the U2515H to show the BIOS screen:

    1. stop down and power down the computer.

2 port DVI video card-->--> old Samsung monitor DVI port DVI - DVI cable

    3. turn on your computer. The screen of the MESSAGE on the Samsung monitor.

    4. go into the BIOS by pressing del screen

5 disconnect the cable DVI - DVI video card DVI port.

    6 port card video--> cable DVI DVI - HDMI--> HDMI U2515H port

The thing is, if I have to keep the old monitor, why bother to buy the new U2515H from Dell?

So, how can I get the U2515H to accept the signal from my video card during the POST screen and the start-up phase, without going through the tedious steps each time? Thanks in advance!
