Withdraw OK, but it is cleared.  I found a source used CD players, but can not find one that starts.  Hitachi DFT cannot find them and Dell Diagnostics identifies but says that the disc has no data.  Same thing for the Windows Installer disks.  Readers appear correctly on the BIOS, but do not start.  Ive tried several (dell P/N list).   I have a spare sysboard which performs in the same way.  What Miss me?

  I'm asking on behalf of a friend. They recently, accidentally had a spill of liquid on the keyboard of their laptop Equium L10-300 which resulted in the message "media test failure" appearing on the screen and makes it so the laptop unusable. Apparently when the liquid was split open CD-ROM drive (coincidence?), while the player also "clicky" sounds when the case he pressed.

  Is their machine completely buggered now or maybe just the hard drive / liquid obtained in the drive? Are there recommendations for when such an incident occurs or just let it dry out and hope for the best?

  Why hard drive? I fear that the defective mainborad may be responsible for this message (IDE controller). Boyfriend sorry but it is just a recommendation, contact the service and let check the laptop.

And Word to the wise to you ehoser, YES system restore is bad on your drive, I now have a name that I used (unfortunately) symbols with (as unique and the only name) as my main admin. login name and now all programs says it can not find this user and install anyway. (Had no idea he was going to do, it worked fine w / vista) and there is no way to change this, you can but its stored in the registry as what it was named and even tried to copy this ACCT. w / a new name provided it w / admin and had SERIOUS PROBLEMS w / who but not by doing another reinstall its bad ennough than its prob. corrupt my registry as unknown user etc. not to mention the damage that I have for it by reinstalling win 7 times. And as too remote ups come on, good work on your part for the USB key, a friend encouraged me to buy one saying "if its something you can't live without it, BACK IT UP! It was years ago, while they were the baby size 100-250 GB usb readers, I always clean. And again, using the same purpose.

  Personally, I think the mouse and wireless keyboards are more trouble that they are worth, but it's just my personal opinion.  I would venture to guess that you could have a keyboard defective, unless he fell, subjected to high temperatures, or had something spilled on it.

  I had a friend complain about the weird characters that appear on the screen.  When I took the keyboard, juice poured out of him!  YMMV.

  I was thumbnail sketches using the Brush tool, in a single color (black) with different levels of opacity for the shading. I had milked on a single layer and on the other, but accidentally shaded shading on the line drawing and can no longer cancel/step back. I need to delete/remove shading and keep the intact black line drawing, but the PS does not seem be able to differentiate between the different levels of opacity and treats as a single colour when I try to use the erase special as Magic Eraser no matter how high I set the tolerance or selection tools, etc.. It's a simple sketch and I could draw it again, but I'm very rusty with PS and I would like to know if there is a solution in case I met this new. Prescheduled A below. Suggestions?

  The question I have is exactly the same as described in this article.  And it is not that it is a matter of FireWire 1394. Something is causing random pixelation during capture.  Loss varies... sometimes more and sometimes less.

  The research I've done seems to support this conclusion, but judge for yourself.

  Root cause: The original 1394 Ricoh (speed = 400) had a problem with Win 7 because it is more than likely designed for Win XP.

  They continued the expedition Ricoh chipset when Windows 7 is released.  There was data loss, but error kept checking it works well.

  However, the video is where the problem arose.  Another problem common is that the sound will drop out.

  Solution: Buy a card with a TI (Texas devices) chipset.  There are a few 3rd party drivers on the market, but most does not work or works intermittently.

  I bought a PC Express card for the laptop card.  (Part of Belkin FireWire 800 #F5U514) and I had to get a new PIN 9 bilingual cable 4 pin 1394.  It comes with a CD containing the driver 1394 TI.

  Blown inside and everything has worked out very well.   No more video loss and it works perfectly.

  Side note: the reason for which the core duo has worked is I upgraded the USB/Firewire combo card last year that (I think it is inner PCI combo from Frys that uses the driver VIA 1394 OHCI compliant) after a little research I found there is also a TI Chipset.

  OPINIONS: I was tempted to buy the combo USB/FireWire version of this map.  However, after some research, I discovered that it is only a map of 400 speed. It should work, but the faster speed is certainly worth and they are at the same price.  Also while I was in the store, I noticed that half of the stock had been opened and returned.  Now I understand why :-)

  Wanted to just follow and document this here in case anyone else has this problem.  It took me weeks to solve.
