• Bluetooth hardware is not found on SL500

  Hello!

  I have a problem with my new installation of Windows 7 RC1 on my Thinkpad SL500 (2746 - 4DG).

  Cannot find the Bluetooth hardware or the bluetooth driver in Device Manager. Although the hardware works in my Vista install on another partition.

  It's my second installtion of Win7 on this unit and I'm sure that bluetooth was working with the first installation of 90%. (I did the second, fresh install after that Lenovo released their beta drivers for Win7).

  Any advice in getting bluetooth to work? Is there any place to get the error logs on the material as dmesg in linux, etc. ?

• Wireless radio cannot be turned on

  Hi all!

  I have a laptop SL500 2746-FMG with Intel wi - fi card. A few weeks ago I noticed that a wi - fi connection gets too often (every 3-5 minutes). I checked the signal strength of my access point, but it was good (-30...-40dB) and another PC on a longer distance worked well.

  I tried to reinstall the drivers for the card, but after that procedure, the status of the radio is always disabled if the hardware switch is turned on, the led is green. When I try to power the device using the Fn + F5 window, nothing happens: the status is always off.

  I tried to reinstall the drivers several times, even delete driver manually and then put it back: Device Manager indicates that the device is functioning correctly, LED lights up green but status is always off

  What could be the reason? Appreciate for any help

  I think that Reinstall Access Connections means it should first be completely uninstalled. I don't see any other different actions of the first Council.
  Spent some time to recover from an August backup system drive - now everything works fine. It was quite difficult step, but nothing.
  I assumed that the cause of the problem was soft (updates from Lenovo are not excluded). So I strongly recommend you to do the regular backups of your system, just in case this kind of problems.

• SL500 - downgraded to XP - how to get the noise?

  I am a new owner SL500 and have installed XP on a Vista preinstalled. I downloaded some drivers from the site driver of Lenovo and have been especially successful with the installation of most of the features - video, wifi, card reader, bios v1.21. How can I get my sound back - the SL is being muted. I have've installed the file 6aa112ww.exe in the Audio section.   A dialog box reports in 'impossible to find that the Conexant audio device and the application cannot function properly. Can someone please?

  Another thing also, I can't find any mention of conexant in Device Manager. Help!

  EUREKA I've got sound! After a whole day and I was about to give up and to contact my dealer I think the speakers are busted - I googled 'SL XP Audio problem' and came acroos this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888111 . I downloaded and installed my version of XP Sp2 and held my breath as I played a movie file. And there was sound - no where near quality hifi, but it was scientifically.

  I think Lenovo should have this link available for people who have lost their audio and not make us lose time to productivity by seeking and turning even units, because we believe that it was defective.

  It's the most incredible thing because something as common as a lost driver can make the laptop useless. The funny thing is that without my audio card of the downloaded file has been nonexistent in the device driver - that made me suspect that the speakers or audio Panel has been exhausted. A happy ending for once!

• Ghost against my SL500

  Hi all

  I just bought 30 SL500 laptops, 2746-6ofthe Type.

  My plan was to build one of them exactly according to the needs for our use, and then create a ghost image that I could empty on the remaining 29 of SL500.  Simple!

  So, I built SL500 Number One and created the Ghost image successfully.  I'm using GhostCast 8.2.0.1117.  What I did, quite simply, was to connect the SL500 to my T61 (running GhostCast) with a crossover cable.  I started the my USB SL500 and created the image.  Success.

  Don't worry, it's a million times...  Then I have connected SL500 Number Two to my T61 and attempted to reverse the process.  It went all the way through and success!  OR NOT...

  I then started the SL500 (after that restoring ghost image was complete) and I get the following:

  It is endless...

  Now, I have never Ghosted SL500 before, but I've never had this problem in all my years of portable T3x Ghosting T4x and T6x series.  However, I admit that T60 and T61, I did in the past, I had to disable the 'Predesktop Area' under 'Security' in the BIOS but also set SATA to 'Compatibility' instead of 'AHCI '.  But the "Predesktop Area" option is not there in the SL500 BIOS!

  I left the SATA to AHCI setting trying my most recent ghost.  Should I change it and try again?

  Or is there something else to do?

  I hope that you guys can provide a solution because if I have to build 29 more portable from scratch, I could drop a lung yelling... ;-)

  I read the posts you linked to and made a ton of investigation and trial & error on mine. I have three of these bricks * beep * things, but...  I found the solution!  Goes here!

  The SL500 is not "Predesktop Area" setting in the BIOS, because there is no fingerprint reader.  I dnd't know that before.  You don't need to change SATA to "Compatibility" as in previous laptops Lenovo/IBM model.  Let 'AHCI '.

  It is important to know that if you intend to Ghost these machines, you need to change anything.

  If you will be using GhostCast version 8.x (maybe others, I only use 8.2) to create a ghost of this laptop model image, you MUST capture the MBR.  You can do this by ensuring that the - IB switch is in the Autoexec.bat to yourbootable USB key.  In other words, your file should contain this line:

  GHOST. EXE -IB -Anyotherswitchesyouwant

  You must also make sure that when you go to restore the image to a client, IB switch is activated on key, too.  Of course, if you use the same flash player, it will be.

  To ensure your autoexec.bat file includes file IB switch enabled on Ghost.exe two-way and nothing change.

  That's all.

  Hello! I'm completely new to Mac and for this forum. Coming from Windows, I found the keyboard a bit confusing. So I installed carabiner, which most of the time worked like a charm.

  Then there was a notification update to Mac OS Sierra. So I did. And now the carabiner is broken. In addition, the trackpad scroll is annoyingly slow, and I realized that I just liked El Capitan more generally.

  But since I got the Mac with El Capitan, I don't have in my list of purchased on the App Store. So where can I find an official download to create installation media, and then reinstall El Capitan (which, as far as I KNOW, is the only way to "downgrade" a Mac if I have no backup of before)?   earlier today, I upgraded my Mac mini (end 2012) to the latest version of macOS Sierra.

  After 1 hour of use, I realized that many of my plugins FCPX were not working.

  I contacted the developers, and they said does not update the plugins and they told me to go back to El Capitan.

  I decided to listen to them and try to downgrade my OS.

  I restarted the Mac and held down Cmd - R or something like that that took me to the disk utility screen.

  Then I went down to dinner, and when I returned 30 minutes later my Mac had entered the sleep mode for some reason any.

  I woke up the Mac and 40 seconds later the power went out for 5-10 minutes.

  After the blackout, I restarted my Mac that took me to a black screen with a flashing question mark folder.

  I followed some tutorials online (including how to enter get - and the recovery of internet mode), but after a while even restoration of the internet shows me the flashing question mark folder.

  I don't know what to do.

  And no - unfortunately I don't have a Time Machine backup.

  But I have a backup with all my most important files.

  Is it possible to force the Mac to reset itself or something like that?

However, if it causes problems or I simply don't like it and want to downgrade disable file Vault before starting this procedure?
