  • Adapters WiFi RT5390R and RT3290

    Hi all

Is it possible to confirm if RT5390R and RT3290 WiFi adapters use in some of the mobile Pavillion, work only in the 2.4 GHz band, or in the 5 GHz band?

Thank you very much in advance

    João Belo

    Hi, João:

Both cards operate on the 2.4 GHz band only.

The best way to know if a card is a card dual band is to look at the description.

He said b/g/n, then it is a single-band 2.4 GHz card.

    If it says a, b, g, d or a/g/n, then it is a dual-band 2.4/5.0 GHz card.

    Hello

I bought this laptop about 3 months back and recently I found that this WiFi adapter does not connect to the wi - fi 5 GHz network.

Is this a problem with the card itself as in - is this adapter capable of receiving wi - fi 5 GHz connection and if so, is there a problem with my laptop?

    Thank you

    Mshetye

    Hello:

There is nothing wrong with your laptop or wireless card.

This model of card is a single 2.4 GHz single band card.

Tip: once you see a card with a suffix of bgn, this means that it is a single band card.

Dual-band cards have a suffix abgn or agn.

Unfortunately, it seems that it is very difficult to replace the card wireless in your template, or I would have recommended to replace the card with a model dual band which has bluetooth.

In addition, do the work yourself would void the warranty according to the manual on the section of your laptop user guides.

  • Photosmart C4380 - not found wireless network

My photosmart C4383 than worked fine with wifi since 2007, but yesterday he lost his IP address.

I ran hp-setup, with connected USB and the network connection has been restored, but he disappeared after

the first attempt to print. After that, each running hp - Setup fails with the message

'No wireless networks found', although my wifi, provided by a Netgear router, works very well, as I have

4 devices connected, and they immediately find the wifi on reboot.

I don't see any explanation, except that the problem is with the photosmart himself.

    Am I wrong?

    Hey @pfrenkiel ,

Thanks for joining us on the HP Forums today, hope you enjoy your time with us!

I understand that you encounter connectivity problems on your Photosmart C4383. You are able to make it all work, but you are not able to get on the wireless network more.

With the printer being as old as it is, it could very well lose functionality in its internal modem. It is not a replaceable part unfortunately. This is probably what happened because you are not able to see more networks of the printer.

You can either continue to use the printer via the USB port or upgrade to a new printer.

I wish I could help you on the Forums, but I simply can't. Best of luck and hope this isn't too much inconvenience.

  • Data networking BlackBerry (especially WiFi)

A confused spirit is a spirit of work!

Here's what I discovered recently on Blackberry and not a very pleasant discovery, I have to add.

When not having not a dataplan BB, you can use the WiFi from your application.

It seems that RIM has been generous enough to give the users of data plan BB possibility to reduce their costs on their data plan, expenses by allowing them the use of WiFi.

WiFi is used only as an opportunity for "privileged" users

If you not have data plan, you will not be able to use (this that forge otherwise be normal) WiFi connectivity.

I tried several scenarios with or without the BB data plan and came to this conclusion. Among other things, the best tool used was the famous "Network Diagnostics" tool

Anyone had success using WiFi (pragmatic, of course) on a device of non-activated data plan?

In conclusion: the white WiFi icon is indifferent on that gray

As mentioned, I do not use these flags, nor tried to determine where they can be defined.

The following how I think it works, I don't have any entry of RIM and I'm not really good on these kinds of things.  So maybe I'm completely wrong!

However my experience with the ServiceBooks leads me to think that the WiFi has two States

    (1) the unit can connect using WiFi

    (2) the device found "home port" and therefore will be directing traffic through WiFi.

For BIS users, I suspect that these two would never happen, because I think that home port is that RIM provided server that is public, so can be found on any WiFi network.  For BES users, the device have found the BES via Wifi to get to State 2, which means that there really be VPNed in or on the WiFi of company.

I think the flag you are testing is looking for State 2.

If you don't have a SIM card or SIM card with a data plan, you will never get to State 2.

My understanding and experience is that as long as you have State 1, you can use WiFi by coding '; = wifi interface.

I tested that I can use WiFi in this way on the following devices: 8820, 8320, Bold, Curve 8900.

  • Problems with wifi 5 GHz.

Hello! Please take some time looking at this query of mine. A few moments ago, I realized my sister, with the help of a Macbook Air, was able to connect to the WiFi in my house 5 GHz. And looking for it, I couldn't find it on my own laptop, a humble Asus X555L with, I checked, 802.11n on one of these things technological black box. According to a Web site that I stumbled on in my quest to find the WiFi 5 ghz, I should be able to find, contrary to what my sister said earlier, be able to handle it. I am at a loss, because I can't always find a way to find free wifi 5 GHz. Help, please!<3 any="" advice="" or="" help="" will="" be="" appreciated!="">

    MS

It is perhaps simply that your computer does not support the 5 gig on the built in wifi card.  Yes it's 802.11 "n" enabled, but not all "n" cards can use 5 gig.  If you tell us what the card is that we can check for you

  • Problem WIFI (no internet access)

Hello, guys. I week ago I had a Pavilion dv4 (dv4t - 4100) with Intel 802.11b/g/n WLAN. He connected nicely to my router when tonight, he began to show "no internet access", even if the computer recognizes the router and says the signal is at 99%. I guess that a link in the process of WiFi connection was broken at a given moment. It happened between creating a new user account and maybe installing Safari browser. I'm not sure. Or it could be hardware, but nothing shows up in the analysis of troubleshooting or in Device Manager.

To the HP Support Assistant, shows as follows:

Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter connected #2-non
Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport adapt - not connected
Intel(r) WiFi Link 1000 BGN - wireless network connection
Atheros AR851 PCI-e Gigabit Ethernet (NDIS 6.20) controller - not connected

The HP network audit, indicates the network in my local router information, internet IP address: not available.

I'm really confused, because I can not deal with same software that manages my WiFi connections. I found "Intel My WiFi Technology", also "HP Connection Manager" and especially WiFi connections to the taskbar. Then, we should I use and set?

    My questions are:

    (A) if I was using internet without opening 'Intel My WiFi Technology' and 'HP Connection Manager. Do I really need these software? Why are they in my book and why should I activate them?

    (B) if it is important to use one of these programs mentioned above, or both, why and how should I use if I connect to the internet without problem before? And it will restore my internet connection?

    (C) what WLAN module I have? It is said in my order Intel 802.11b/g/n WLAN. It is said in the HP Support Assistant Intel(r) WiFi Link 1000 BGN. Are they the same?

    (D) after identification of my WLAN module, where can I find a driver for it? Because one of them must not be found anywhere. I am in my second built-by-me-bench and I never had trouble to find a drive. For some reason these names I have mentioned do not exist in the list of drivers to Intel. I tried the HP site, but it's too complicated and it seems do not have this key WLAN.

    (E) at the end, how is the best way to connect to the internet and how do I configure my phone for a first and fast connection? Or I have to do anything and I just need to fix something to go back to where it was before, when I was using internet without problem and in a simple way?

Summarize: I'd love to see a feature more late who says: "connecting dock", where all possible means of connection, WiFi and cable, can be defined in a single window, with simple and clear tutorials.

Moreover, I like the laptop. Well done, cute, smooth and not full of blotware. I also loved access to all material, simple as a click of the fingers. This will be very handy when I replace the HD for one SSD and mix in a Blu - Ray player. But is a pain.

Well, I really, really appreciate all responses.

    See you soon,.

It's the software antivirus (Avast). For some reason when I created the new account, the Avast did not load the new settings and blocked the internet (don't ask me how).

I uninstalled and tried to establish a connection and I got the same 'no internet connection' icon, but when I tried to open Safari the network is is behaved as if was the first time that I accessed internet. A WiFi window pops up, which I closed, and the internet connection has been restored. Now I'm going to reinstall Avast from scratch.
