• Slide numbering - questions about Captivate 3

  I am putting together a new CBT I want to enter my PowerPoint slides.

  However, I plan to do several of the slides is available only when you press a 'button' on a particular slide.

  (for example.  Slide 5 there will be 2 buttons, it will lead to slide 28 then return, it will lead to slide 29 then return)

  I'm looking for is the removal of any slide numbering when I publish this project.

  I don't want the Viewer to see that they went from slide 5 to 28 and then back to 5.

  I understand that most people want their slides were soon, but for this project, I'm heading in the other direction.

  As the title suggests, I am using Captivate 3, which unfortunately that power will not pay for the update to Captivate 4.

  If you do not use a playback control, there is never any indication that the user is on different slides. Even if you use a playback control, the only time I am aware that the indication of the number of slide is present is when you place the cursor or drag the progress indicator.

  See slide numbers in another area? If so, can you post a screen shot here? If you do, please insert inline using the camera icon. Do not tie. Attachments must be approved before that everyone can see them.

• Aggregator Slide numbering (Captivate CPT 5.5)

  Aggregator seems to work very well. Two things I noticed, which is:

  1. CPT film fills the screen (Web page) at first but once all the individual SWF download movie CPT group project "retract" the size of development (in this case, 800 x 600). I wonder why it is great on the first (much like "full screen" but rather as Web page complete) and then returned to the development dimension.
  2. The variable slide number on each slide in each module (movie or SWF) counts only slides in the specific module. When the next module starts, the slide number is equal to zero. It makes sense that he would do this, but I wonder if it is possible to do two things instead:
     • Index from one (1) instead of zero (0), and
     • Count all the slides, between modules, successive order so if 10 slides module 1 and module 2 is 5 slides, last played slide would be number 15 of the slide.

  Can't give you an answer to your first question.

  Regarding your second question: you show slide numbers to the user in a text caption? In this case, the fastest way would be to calculate the number by a tip action. It is possible to transfer data from one file to another (such as the total number of slides in the previous file), but then you will need a cpguru widget - Michael Lund:

• Published SWF file shows no questions about their Captivate 8 slides

  I created a questionnaire in 8 Captivate (using Windows 7 so this is important). If I publish this quiz to HTML5, it works fine. However, if I publish to SWF format (in order to use the widgets) the first slide works, but as the whole issue of the slides are empty!

  I have republished this Quiz 20 times tweaking the settings back and forth but cannot get this to work, any ideas what could be the problem?

• Transparent background for slide numbering Widget number

  I work at 8, Captivate, and I inserted the widget that puts drag numbers on every page of my module. Unfortunately, each number appears inside a little white square. Can I do the transparent code box so the white square will disappear? I tried this setting in the properties of widget dialog box, but apparently this tool only allows you to format the police number, not the background color. I would appreciate any guidance; Thank you.

  Do not use this widget more, it is not compatible with HTML output.

  Why not just insert a text container (form or legend, make it transparent) on the first slide, post it for the rest of the project and always on top. Insert variables using the X key in the role of composition of the text container properties panel:

  The advantage compared to having it on the slide, is the text container has an ID that makes controllable: you can hide/show it if necessary on some slides (like the question slides, that have their appropriate progress indicator).

  Be careful though: it is a dynamic, generated text over time. This means that you must use a font for the Web, to have watched as static text. It depends on the output as well, but since you are using a widget, I guess you are using output SWF. In this output, all static text is converted into images, which allows you to use another font even if it is not available on the system by the trainee. This is not the case for dynamic text

• Review of each slide in the Question area

  I put the field of examination of each slide of the question, but I can't find not visible. Can I find out if I have missed something?

  

  

  # The examination area is not for this purpose, and in most of the types of questions it is no longer used.

  I would say the best way to do what you want is to place a shape on the Quiz slides roughly the same place as the control area is right now, but make sure that it would not be obscured by other elements of the quiz slide.  Add the text of the feedback to the shape you want the learner to see when you perform the revision Quiz and the Visible output value for these objects shape on each slide quiz to be OFF.  Then create a conditional Advanced Action (or conditional Shared Action) must be run on the entrance to slide for each slide of the questionnaire.  This conditional action checks if the Variable system called cpInReviewMode is set to 1, and so it will SHOW the shape on the slide object, OTHERWISE it will HIDE this same shape (just in case).

  Then, this should mean that if your user name click the quiz of revisions on the Quiz results slide, they will see these forms of additional feedback, but at any other time, they will be invisible.

  I worked on a number of modules with different content in each, which have a short quiz at the end. All except a beautiful work and the quiz results slide displayed correctly the 'score' and 'max' accordingly.

  However, I have a module with an erroneous result reported "0" out of "NaN" and I don't know why it appeared suddenly?

  I have been a model for these modules (even if it is true that it has been outsourced - they should always use the same model)

  I don't see any obvious difference in the parameters or results between this slide and the other modules - so I'm stuck!

  I was wondering if something had gone wrong with the slide therefore results as a test, I copied all the slides except the quiz in a separate model that has worked very well, and then updated the quiz and slides re-edited, still had the same error. This leads me to suspect the content slides are part of the problem. There are some real questions in the content slides / false, which are defined as a "pre-test" type - could these affect something?

  I am using Captivate 8.0.3.290 and I checked the result published scorm cloud and our Moodle LMS - same erroneous result.

  It is difficult to know what is the problem with this model. I highly doubt that the presence of pre-test slides is the cause. It is perfectly possible to have a pre-test and a Final Quiz in a project. To exclude this possibility: try to create a small project with a test question and a real Question slide, using this same model.  Follow the system variable. What is the result?

  You know if this model was created initially to CP8 or is this a version update of a model?

  I never delete the review area, although it is used in two circumstances:

  1. For the message of pass/fail on the Score slide
  2. When a question has been ignored (I always feel that issues are considered to be ignored).

• Question about slide numbers

  Hi guys, new user Adobe Captivate here. I wanted to add page numbers to a project that I am currently but wanted to exclude the first two slides to the County for this 1 page should show slide 3.

  I've seen a tutorial that shows how to use variables (cpinfocurrentslide) system to a model of slides. I did this and created a model of slides and inserted the mentioned variable. But when I saw the project, there is still the first 2 slides even if they use a different master slides.

  What could I have missed?

  Hello and welcome,

  Then, you will need to create a custom counter. This can be done with a fast action (or joint action if you're on CP7) triggered on enter for each slide:

  • Create a variable user v_slidenumber (project, Variables)
  • create a tip (project, advanced Actions) action which should look like this:
    V_slidenumber = cpInfoCurrentSlide expression - 2
  • insert this variable user v_slidenumber on the model of the slides (or on the first slide where you want to use and time during the rest of the project)

  ATTENTION: variables are case-sensitive. Always insert them into a container of text (legend or form) using the X key in the Format of the text container accordion.

• Quiz question: why Captivate address most of my slides as quiz questions?  Captivate 5.5

  I have a project that includes two interactive simulations and a short questionnaire in the middle.  The project includes most of my question slides slides, so I am unable to get accurate results.  I can not even the page of results to follow the slides in question, because it deals a much later blade as the "final question".  I looked all around the property, but found nothing.  Can I make a link to the files separate quiz in order to get the questions to calculate correctly?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I use Cp 5.5

  Not only the question slides can be marked but also all the interactive objects (click boxes, buttons, TEB) that you probably have in your simulations.

  Check the advanced Panel (F9) Interaction where you will find a summary of all the marked objects. You will need to delete the partitions and add it to the total (and reports). This can be done in the Panel itself, but it is dynamically linked to the properties pane. If you select an object with a score in the Interaction Panel, its properties will be displayed. Go to the accordion of Reporting.

• Hide Slide widget on question slides

  Captivate v5.5

  I have the slide number widget on my first slide, the value to display for the project - which works very well.

  However, I have a series of question slides toward the end of the project on which I posted 'Question 1 of 10 etc'.

  In these issues, I would stop the number of the slide (of the widget) being seen and then reappear again a few final slides.

  Is this possible and if yes, how would you please?

  Hi Noel,

  No problem on CP5.5. Here are the steps:

  1. On the first slide of the issue, in the face of the drawer properties go to the accordion in Action
  2. On enter (slide) select hide, then choose the label of the widget
  3. On the first slide where you want to display the widget repeat once again, this
  4. but now, choose display and choose the label of the widget

  It would have been a problem in 5.0 because you could hide the widget, but not show it again on a later slide.

  Of course, the numbering will continue all in hiding, is this OK? So if you have 7 slides and widget is hidden on slides 3-5, on slide 6 it will show 6 out of 7.

• Sanitation in a course with several slides contained and question slides

  My goal is to build a course that consists of 20 ~ content slides (each has a small video conference), followed by several questions each to compose a great quiz, each answer is counted toward the degree.

  So my current configuration is as follows:

  • Each slide of the Conference is followed by question slides 1-3.
  • An attempt is allowed by each question.
  • All questions must be answered correctly before a user can move to the next slide content.
  • Each conference is preceded by another slide of content and has a button 'Next' with 'Back to the Quiz' on measures of success.
  • Failure to answer a question correctly, the user is redirected to the previous slide in conference at the Review Conference. Then the user is redirected to the slide in question failed (via a button 'Next') and the next attempt to answer the question.

  I understand the scenario of reclamation and was able to set up the first slide of the Conference, followed by 3 question slides, and everything works as I want. Button 'Next' on the slide of the Conference works properly depending on where the user came to the Conference slide of.

  However, when the user finally arrives at the next Conference slide, as soon as they click on the 'Next' button on this slide, they are brought back to the last slide in question answered: in my case, it's the third question slide after the first slide of the Conference. The loop closes just here.

  Basically, there is no way for the user to pass the second slide Conference.

  Why the button 'Next' on the second slide Conference not to go to the first slide of the following question?

  What I am doing wrong?

  Lilybiri, I think that the solution to my problems is very well explained in the posts above I found last night. With a few changes, I could get my course work just as I had originally planned.

  Here's what my structure/feature class now looks like in my test file:

  Title slide

  Video conference 1

  Questionnaire1 Questions (tested with 2 questions multiple choice, 3 possible answers to each)-back to the video conference 1 first incorrect answer; go to video conference 2 success OR the second incorrect answer.

  Video conference 2

  Questionnaire2 Questions (tested with 2 questions multiple choice, 3 possible answers to each)-back to the video conference 2 as soon as the first incorrect answer; go to video conference 3 success OR the second incorrect answer.

  Video conference 3

  .. and so on.

  The notation works, too!

  I'm actually very happy to have found a solution to what seemed to be an impossible feat. Thank you for your help, I appreciate the time you took to answer my questions. • Master Slide - Likert - error on the photo

  I'm currently creating a new model of slides. I'm changing the positions of the elements of slide of questionnaire in all 3 views. I used the blank theme as base and then started to make changes to the slide. All the quiz slides work perfectly, except for one. Problem is with likert slide in the slides of masters. When you work in the main view, there is no problem. When I switch to Tablet to view, the following happens.

  

  I tried to remove several items, but there seems to be no way to do that. In addition, it slows strongly captivate and I have to restart captivate. But multiple entries persist. Once again when I try to change the slide of likert, captivate slows.

  
  

  Possible solution I tried already: I already deleted this slide and copy paste a new slide in a new project with empty theme likert. Everything works again, as long as I stick with the main display. Now, I click on the view of the Tablet, multiple entries appear and the same cycle again.

  Ok.  You have convinced me.  It must be a bug.  I suggest the report to Adobe and avoid the kind of Likert question at the moment until they fix it.

  I am using captivate 7 trail, and quickly captivate you buy the full version if this function is possible inside.

  I build a quiz, and I want the user to everything first, answer, see if he was right and then proceed to the next question. I don't want the user to be able to leave questions unanswered.

  In evere question slide, there is a 'next' button and a submit"" button. The user can go backwards or forwards and skip questions. "Is there a way to keep the user on this question slide until responds, or hide the 'back' and 'next' buttons ' until the questions are answered.

  It's really important for the way I use Captivae and it is a big problem for us separator.

  Any help will be appreciated.

  There is also a quiz option > settings > required > Answer All that requires the user to answer each question before you can proceed to the next.

• CP5: Rating and Quiz result slides for selected Questions

  I am trying to create a course that has several "knowledge checks" that need not be striped or track, then a 10 question at the end quiz that must be marked and tracked.

  Someone does know of a way to separate these two elements so that the slide Quiz results do not cover my data 'check knowledge' and gives just the details of the user of the 10 question quiz? I would also use the progress bar, but only for the last 10 questions.

  Moreover, if the result of the quiz screen separated the results of controls knowledge quiz, which would work as well.

  If you are using the Question slides that come with Captivate, all slides will be added to the total score because you can have than a Quiz in a CP-file.

  Some ideas: you can assign to the partition of the first (not to follow) slides to 0, or if possible change issues marked the investigation (no is not marked).

  If by progress, you mean the indication ' Question X of Y ", there, you'll need to do your own counters, with variables user and advanced actions. If you want to have total control of your question slides, that you can create the first group issues yourself and use only default to the last real Quiz Question slides. • How to crop slides/animation in a simulation software captivate 4.

  I need to clear up a software simulation .cp file. There is only the layers slide and animation in the timeline.  Examples of what to do:

  1. slide 1/animation is 88 s long - I need to completely remove the top 50 animation of simulation so that it begins at the end of the harvest.

  2 other slides need different sections throughout the layer of software simulation removed animation.

  I am struggling to find a way to do it - is - it possible in captivate?

  Welcome to the forum.

  Don't know if I understand your question. You're talking to an animation 'simulation', it could be a complete record of Motion (FMR), realized by a capture with Captivate in this mode? In this case, you need to change this with the FMR Editor, where it is possible to cut out pieces of the FMR. But if you talk about something of another also an animation made in Flash, you will need to modify the animation in the source program.
