  I have a 13 inch MacBook (mid-2012) bought in 2014. 2.5 Intel Core i5 to GHz, 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.

  Operating system: OS X El Capitan 10.11.2

  I have known launch of the application slow times, ranging from 15 seconds to launch iWork applications, 20 seconds to launch Chrome and iTunes and up to 50 seconds to launch Microsoft Office applications (2013). Once the applications are running for a few minutes, they work quickly and without problem.

  I tried a few options of troubleshooting for general slowness of mac, but they have not improved launch time:

  • Updated all the software
  • Moved old documents to an external hard drive and erased from the laptop
  • Started in mode 'safe' and attempts to launch slow applications
  • Run 'First aid' disk utility
  • Cleared the cache of bookstores
  • Removed the unnecessary plugins of Chrome & Safari.

  This could be the cause of slow launch times and how can I solve this problem?

  Hi all

  I'm trying to debug a hardware problem on my Toshiba Satellite A45. I am running Ubuntu 10.04, but I don't think that it's operating system or related software.

  THE PROBLEM: The CPU usage is high and applications slowly to a crawl after using an intensive application of memory for a few minutes, i.e. to watch a video or a game. Basically, anything that could use the screen much. If instead, I work only from a prompt, even when the application could do a lot of work, I do not encounter this problem. After stopping all applications, the CPU usage is always higher than normal (90% idle, should normally be slowed down to about 99%).

  Xorg now typically showing about 6% (normally use< 2%).="" if="" i="" at="" any="" time="" after="" this="" try="" to="" work="" in="" any="" application,="" usage="" is="" still="" bogged="" down.="" only="" a="" reset="" gets="" me="" back="" to="">

  Note: My system has always worked very well and I did not made the installation of the software or changes when it started to happen.
  However, the laptop is a 800 miles round trip at the rear of the car in a padded bag.

  DEBUG: This doesn't seem to be the RAM that I replaced the RAM and reinstall the RAM, and the problem persists. This doesn't seem to be the hard drive that I can try to run it from a Live CD (without use of HARD drive) and yet everything slows to a crawl.

  HELP: I don't know how to debug from here.
  I don't have extra pieces of hardware to make swaps.

  Any ideas more how to debug this?

  It s interesting why you think that this may be software related issue

  I think that it is a typical software problem because the RAM and the HARD drive has been verified you have reported this in the message

  So what to say maybe some virus or malware likely to obstruct the CPU and the memory usage
  Or there is some process in the background that are not properly

  I recommend you to reinstall the Windows operating system or another distribution of Linux that runs NO Live CD, but which is installed on the HARD drive
  I m sure that s kind of the process that is disabled and crashes somewhere in the background

• CC very slow applications. Takes an average of 8-10 minutes to deal with any action. Have had computer checked and there is no hardware problems. We have reinstalled the software. Never had a problem until we went to CC. Any input will be appreciated.

  Do you have any software like Suitcase fusion font management or fonts Expolrer?

  Also, you can check in safe mode.

  In my view, that the issue could be a third-party plugin, which may be causing that.

  I'm having a problem with Sage Line 50 V13 - 2007 (please don't stop reading!) on two laptops of R500 Centrino Duo. Two laptops have 1 GB of RAM and U7600 1.2Ghz processors. I am posting this in the Sage forums and call wise too. All Sage updates are installed.

  Registration of the activity of a single wise client causes Sage hang for a minute and twenty seconds before displaying the results. During this time that the EXE of Sage takes about 9% CPU, the CPU total use plane around 10%. Use of the network (switched 100 MB link) is about 1% use. Laptops are connected to the network, not to a docking station, and I tried the CPU frequency in the Toshiba Control Panel applet on strong and dynamic. It is not to open a report in an external program, this is purely Sage. Other laptops and computers open this screen activity in about a second, their specifications as follows:

  Old Toshiba PentiumM 1.3 Ghz, 504 MB RAM
  XXX T7200 Core 2, 2 GHz 1 GB RAM
  Destop PC: Intel 3040 @1. 86 Ghz Dual Core 1 GB

  I tried to set the processor affinity Sage EXE process to one or the other CPU instead of two, to no avail.

  All the world has the same problem? Thank you very much in advance for any ideas or suggestions.

  The images are of your plugins and you have only 13 of the images, but you have either deleted or disabled some of them as only 10 are in plug-ins installed at the bottom of your post. not a large number.

  What your extensions?

  There may be many reasons for any slow application at startup. Without more information, or to be in front of your system, it is difficult to diagnose. 2 suggestions below.

  Firefox Safe Mode
  You may need to use questions Troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode (click on "Safe Mode" and reading) to locate the problem. Firefox Safe mode is a diagnostic mode that disables Extensions and some other features of Firefox. If you are using a theme, place you in the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Modules > Themes before start Safe Mode. When you enter Safe Mode, do not check all the items in the window, just click "continue mode without failure." A test to see if the problem you are experiencing is fixed.

  If the problem does not occur in mode without failure, then disable all your Extensions and Plug-ins, and then try to find out who is causing by allowing both the problem reappears. You MUST close and restart Firefox after EACH change via file > restart Firefox (on Mac: Firefox > Quit). You can use 'Disable all add-ons' on the start safe mode window.

• Bug report: Power Manager causes performance slowed after resume from hibernation

  I use Windows 7 and several versions of the power manager, including the last 6.63.1 of a 220 X.

  If I Hibernate the computer, when I'm back, everything is very slow. For example, it takes several seconds for a page to display after clicking a tab in Chrome, but it's just an example, almost everything is unresponsive. This happens for about 5-10 min, but eventually everything will work normally. It seems to be related to the use of high page files. More I wait to take over after the hibernation, the biggest problem seems to be taking.

  The deactivation of the service to be able to eat has not corrected the problem, but after uninstalling the power manager, the problem will disappear completely.

  I have discussed this with the Power Manager team and they think that this problem can occur because of a feature called Fast Hibernation summary power manager.  The idea is that Power Manager will page out most application on the drive memory before hibernation.  Then the hibernation file will be as small as possible, resulting in a faster recovery time.  But I guess it can cause this side effect, you found if several applications are page in a lot of memory, disk, after sleep.  Then you would end up with the use of the disc heavy and slow application performance, until finally the memory is restored from pagefile.

  Anyway, if you want to retry Power Manager, please install the latest version and then apply this reg file to disable the feature that we believe that your problem is initially:

  Restart after applying the reg file.  This assumes that you are running 64-bit Windows.  If you are running 32-bit Windows, let me know and I'll give you a different reg file.

  My requirement of applications is to communicate with the Web service, get the xml, analyze and display using a listfield. I call all this xmlhandler classes objectmodel, display using a lisfield of a class that extends the screen which makes my slow application.

  Can anyone suggest me how to make it fast?

  Is it a popup an apt loading screen and starts a thread to communicate with the Web service, get the xml, it analyzes and kill the thread, then fill the listscreen and display it?

  By the sound of it, I have the feeling that at the time now, you do all your networks on the thread of events. If so, it is a huge mistake!

  You must do so from a separate thread, notify the UI of any changes with small invokeLaters.

• Illustrator is extremely slow on mac.

  my mac is fully updated (yosemite) and creative cloud is fully updated. what im I was not playing with any of the settings, there is no reason because it works slowly, even with a file of 3 MB and a film around the vector objects. I tried to uncheck and verifying that the gpu in the preferences and that has not worked. I seriously hope that adobe fixes this issue soon

  Slow application works with specific files? Where are saved the files, I mean locally on the computer or external? If external, try with local files. Alternatively, you can try to reset the preferences of pressing AND holding Alt + Ctrl + Shift (Windows) or Option + command + shift (Mac OS) when you start Illustrator.
