Slow logon ASA5505

Hi all!

I have an ASA 5505 (ASA 8.2 (3), ASDM 6.3 (4) 53 for which record seems very slow.)

In the viewer of the newspaper in time real ASDM, journal entries come in spurts of 20, pause for a few seconds, then I get 20 more. The net result is that the entries do not show up to nearly a minute after that that they produce.

The same behavior affects syslogging to a linux server. I tried to adjust the size of syslog messages queue and the limit of recorder buffer in real time, and had no effect.

Use of the CPU and memory on the firewall are respectively 15 and 50 percent.

If anyone can suggest what I might try next, I'd be very happy.

Dan

The interfaces look clean. To refine, can we delete any record, except that in syslog and also reduce the recording level?

for example

no console logging of information
no monitor logging of information
No trap logging of information
no logging of informational asdm

logging trap WARNING

---> Now check if the problem persists with the logs on a syslog server. If this isn't the case, increase the logging level and check again.

logging trap information

---> If something looks always good, follow the same steps to connect to ASDM.

This will help us to refine (or not) problem with too many logs are generated. Y at - there no package / the traffic shaping device between ASA and syslogs host with ASDM running server?

    Hi all

We found that if you do not use Metaprofiles in your environment, you can save a fair few seconds off your time of connection by installing is not the part of the user of PNTools in your main image profiles.

We did it here and it made a big difference.

    Thank you, Andrew

  • Slow logon to VMware View

    Hello

I have a wooded area view view 3.1.2 Agent 3.1.2 ESX 3.5 update 5, latest vmware tools.

the environment was working fine... but the last week we have updated ESX 3.5 update 4 update 5. So we must update the vmare tools. I did it and I have also updated the image of gold or model for my non-critere - automated pool.

After that, I've recreated the pool now, I noticed and my people notice of delays to log... they enter their credentials and to Windows XP SP3 about 70 seconds to log on when my initial stock took just 15 seconds...

no idea what could be causing this delay important for users of the logon domain and we ready to work their jobs

In fact when I use my model or gold imageto log my model users works very well it dry takes15 for any user...?  :|   It's only the pool that has problems.

    any idea abourt this?

    Thanks a lt

Sorry it took me so long to answer, we had changes in firewall and apparently VMware Forums was blocked... which is very useful.  :-|

Check your physical boxes and check that they are in the same OU as the virtual machines.  Run a gpresult to verify that they have the exact same GPs.  Finally, see specifications of material between physical and virtual mailboxes.  Need more RAM/CPU, these play a role at boot time.  In a normal newspaper should be between 10-20 seconds, nothing more than that normally can be blamed on GP, login scripts, or AV.

  • Satellite M70: pauses and is slow when connecting power and sleep mode

My M70 with win xp is often slow logon, logoff, switch to sleep mode and stop donw. It seems to be a 'pause' for 20 sec or so doing nothing and then suddenly in advance.

I noticed the same thing on my M70, but there is nothing unusual. By record/stop several processes must be started or stopped, and it takes time. By Eve that last used applications and content of the last transactions must be recorded in the memory live and by flipping down several ongoing process must be stopped. In my opinion in this 20 seconds OS trying to stop running of processes and services.

As much I know it can't happen in a second or two and it takes a little time. Last week I preinstalled Vista. It runs a little faster but I have no pre-installed apps.

  • What happens when "Still waiting for network when starting the computer and logon" is enabled and that the computer is not connected to the network?

In MMC, I created the group policy and found through web search that computers with mapped network drives can connect better if "always wait for network when starting the computer and logon" is enabled...  So far, it has been very nice to have allowed.  Is no longer mapped network drives see the place as disconnected.  But what happens if the computer is not connected to a network?  Say the wireless router will turn off and your computer always 'wait... '. "turned on, should the user could still log the computer timely?

  • What stack is the aperture down slowing?  In addition, newspapers of suck.

If there is an easy way to say, someone please tell me.  As it is now, we find it impossible to say what battery (or batteries) are the culprit behind the slow logons (just waiting for the timeout of the second 180).  Frustrating thing is that once the timeout occurs and the user is logged in the office all the apps that were related work.  So, why the delay?  And how do know us what battery it's which caused?

Side note, the logs generated by App Volumes in the machine virtual make me want to claw my eyes.  A giant run-on sentence, no demarcation, without interruption.  Has no one on the team App Volumes already looking at one of these newspapers?  I find it impossible to believe, then how about you make just a little more readable in 2. next or 3.0? /rant

    Final monitoring:

We did in fact implement the following exclusions of AV:

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \CloudVolumes

    C:\SnapVolumesTemp

    C:\SVROOT

We also rebuild our image natively parent in our vCenter v6 environment.  As a result, all connection with multiple battery issues have been resolved.

  • Records of 'must have' of roaming profiles

    Hello

We are currently setting up profiles for our mobile sales. The main problem is that the roaming profiles Dungeon above the profile storage space. I was wondering if anyone could tell me which are the files 'must have' that should be included in a roaming profile? For example do we really need to include all the files in the Application data and local settings? (The "My Documents" FYI have already been excluded because they are redirected to another server). Any help or links that will direct me in the right direction will be greatly appreciated.

    Paula

Local settings is not normally included in the roaming profiles. It contains the folders temp and Outlook mailstore, which tends to make it big.

Application data tend to contain settings for specific programs, so you should evaluate on the basis of what is used on your site. However, it excludes in its entirety could lead to problems in some cases.

Another one, I'd say WinDirStat as a useful tool to find the space where goes.

    http://WinDirStat.info/

What is the roaming profile, I find that many customers seem to think they should automatically "have their own files" no matter where they log - on, but at the same time don't need exercise no clean what they store and where. I say while it's functionally a case to expect to have your bread buttered on both sides and get to eat! In practice some policy decisions to do in regard to if the roaming profile path is applicable to your site and if so how much users is likely to comply with its constraints. If they can not do it then I suggest that this is not a good path to follow, especially since the oversized profiles will lead to very slow logons.

Also, keep in mind that you're in headaches for real, if you want to introduce Windows 7 computers - profiles are not compatible, and what is happening here is that the roaming user develops a split personality.

  • Wmplayer.exe in list of logon process and slow down my computer automatically

    Hello!

All the minutes (and it can happen several times in a minute or two, then accompany minutes nothing happens) my mouse freezes and my computer "thinks" for a few seconds, as something that four-color or trying to open, only nothing is.

I opened the Task Manager upward and looked at the list of processes, and "wmplayer.exe" opens and closes during this period.

I found this problem in the Windows 7 forums, and that's exactly what I saw, only when running Vista and NOT 7.

    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/w7performance/thread/d3e2abf1-1ebc-4048-b58e-f369b999c65c

Edit: I did a few things. Originally, before the beginning of the process, I changed USB ports of the just in case, mice that did not work. I did several tests and checked the registry for a particular worm that seems to mimic some of these symptoms. I tried to open wmp to see if it is open it would attempt to run, which he did not. I also deleted the plugin Firefox wmp in case that is the question. None of them helped.

Edit again: I took the step on the reference station and did a clean boot. This does not prevent the problem. Wmplayer.exe has always arisen as I explained above.

    Any ideas? Thank you!

    Hello!

Just an update for those who have this problem.

Nothing above helped at all. I had several people look at the computer, had many suggestions from different people, went up to remove wmp and synchronization of the computer, but nothing helps. I always had this problem.

On a whim, a few days ago, I decided to try to buy a new mouse. Couldn't hurt, right? :) And here, I have not had the problem since. Try a new mouse! Worked for me.

  • Slow Windows 7 logon

I have loaded windows 7 64 bit on my hard drive SSD (Intel X - 25 M) when I had a processor AMD 4000 + and motherboard Asus m32n. Recently, I changed my motherboard and processor to a processor intel core i7 and the card mother Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R. I also installed an edimax Wireless N PCI wifi card.

Windows 7 starts fine until I get to the login screen. When I click login, it takes about 40 seconds to load the windows screen while previously it would take about a second.

Should I reinstall windows 7 to solve this problem? I had to re check your version of windows because I changed the motherboard and processor will be able to reinstall windows 7 again without having any problems by checking the copy? (Its the retail version of Windows 7 64-bit).

Just a note I have an image as the background for my office windows 7 so the background solid color thing doesn't seem to be the problem.

I ended up just reinstall windows 7 and then reinstall all my programs later. So far, Im was not having any problems with the connection more. Im going to install the software and drivers motherboard and see if everything is ok.

  • El Capital 10.11.4 slow?

    HI guys,.

Again another update from Apple and things seem bit slow for me. Anyone facing a similar question?

Appears to be slow and jerky. Use of memory much more in the activity monitor and a little insensitive. Well it allows to be sweet butter even with the 10.11.12 much better. Yes, whats going on Apple? Downturn

Safari became evenly a nightmare browser since I know. Pulls up to 12GB of Ram usage until I kill it just to preserve the battery of my Quad Core power hungry beast.

    So what is past...

Exactly. After the update of 10.11.3 10.11.4, I'm surprised slow everything became, as if the CPU runs at the speed of 25%, or memory is by exchanging to constantly. There is a slowdown at all: user logon, change of window, launch the app, start the Parallels virtual machine.

According to iStat Menus, the CPU is essentially inactive, is not the question of e.g. projector reindexing.

I have a MBP with 512 GB SSD mid-2012 and 16 GB of RAM.

I checked the boot sequence and the LAN is the last still start on the internal HARD disk.

No idea why they are so slow start when not connected?

    Hello

I understand that your notebook is in the field and use parameters that are applied in the company network.

Maybe the Vista (or XP) looking for these settings if you are not connected to the office network and the entire procedure takes a little longer

May I ask what anti-virus do you use?
Sometimes antivirus software might affect the start and might slow the procedure as a whole.

  • my user logon auto after sleep

    iMac 27 "retina 5 k 3.5 GHz Intel Core I5 at the end of 2014. 10.11.3 running.

Since the upgrade to El Capitan last week I find to wake up the iMac to sleep...  I get the normal logon screen but the password auto-remplit - I can back-space information auto-remplie but it simply fills each time, as if a key is held down. I have to press the button of stopping power. Once I re - starts, everything is fine and I can enter my password and continue.  However, this happens every time I wake the machine, but probably 50% of the time.  The main applications I use are opening, pictures, Pages, Safari, iTunes, and 4-5 games in the app store.

Please read this message before doing anything.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It is unlikely to solve your problem. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

The test is intended to determine if the problem is caused by a third-party software that loads automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.

Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

The login screen is displayed even if you usually connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

Test in safe mode. Same problem?

After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of the test.

  • Win 7 slow start - connection with fingerprint reader

    Hello

I have a T400s (2.4 GHz and 4 GB) with an Intel SSD and WIn 7 RTM with the last drivers beta of Lenovo.

I have the fingerprint reader enabled for the connection and my startup time of 35 seconds is now shared almost half in the connection of fingerprints and the other half in the rest of the startup procedure.

Or (the finger) described another way if the machine is turned off and I slide my finger to start the machine, it takes about 17 seconds before the fast logon is indicated.

Then the machine says 'pending' for 15-20 seconds during which my personal connection icon is flashing by until it ends the connection and almost immediately displays the desktop.

I am surprised by the very slow connection with my finger already slipped. It would be much faster to turn off fingerprint reader and connect using a password. Someone had this problem and knows how to fix?

Other problems with the boot, I found (and fixed) is the use of a solid as the Windows background color which, for some reason, costs about 15 seconds at boot time! I also had to reflash the firmware of my SSD to win 10 extra seconds at the beginning of the startup procedure.

    Carpet

    Hello again,

Sometimes I had to wait several seconds after sliding my finger, to the process of connection of kick. I checked the event viewer on my thinkpad T400 and found the security processes that are at work when loggin. I have excluded them from protection against viruses (Microsoft Security Essentials) and restarted the computer. When the logon screen appeared, I spent my finger and boom, the connection process began immediately.

    Excluded processes are:

    C:\Windows\System32\LogonUI.exe

    C:\Windows\System32\winlogon.exe
