I called our local computer store and they took the remote control of my computer and decided that, in the window manager Audio Realtek, the 'speaker setup' DD was somehow got moved from "Stereo" 5.1 speakers"fix that solves the problem but I'm perplexed that a configuration setting incorrect speaker should block the function 'In Line' leaving all other sound effects works perfectly; However, he seems to have done the trick.
