Smartphones from blackBerry Curve 8520 - WiFi works not

Hello

I tried everything I read on the forums to get the WiFi connection works, but I could not:

* reset the BB by removing the battery

try different security settings for the WiFi, including disabling security

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you!

I suggest you reboot your home router... do you know how?

Normally, you remove the electrical connection at the back of the router and the data cable in, both for a minute, replace and the router will be reset.

  • Smartphones from blackBerry Curve 8310 - GPS does not

Late afternoon, the GPS on my BlackBerry decided to stop working. "Refresh GPS" does nothing, just a bunch of 0 against all areas. I took a colleague BlackBerry (the same exact model since they both work) and standing on a selected spot "refresh GPS" on both phones. Mine still gives a bunch of zeros, while the other spits is rather less than a second. I didn't fall out or something. Infact, it was fine in the morning. What is going on?

I also tried out the battery for 5 minutes before putting call. It does not either.

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Go to options, State. On the main status screen, type the word test.

There is no entry for that field, just type and you will see a device of that self-test.

Click Run, and then select GPS.

    Let us know the results.

    Hello.

In blocked my BlackBerry is a never-ending cycle of loading. I know that this is a known issue and that some people have had the experience, but all the guides I have read and tried until then not brought the. Please, help me! (I can give more information about what I've done if needed).

You will need to clean and reinstall the OS.

    1. start by searching for your operator and the file of versioin OS you want to use.

    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

2 download the operating system of the file from step 1 to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.

    3. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Also, check the following locations for the vendor.xml file and delete all instances of the file:

On Windows Vista/7, go to C:\Users\YOUR_USER\AppData\Roaming\Research in XML Motion\BlackBerry\Loader (where 'YOUR_USER' is your user name)

On Windows XP, go to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USER\Application is In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML (where 'YOUR_USER' is your user name)

    4. If you simply update the operating system to a newer version, skip this step. If making a clean OS reloads use BBSAK from BBSAK.org and wipe the device (after doing a full backup), then after you get the 507 error (no OS installed) then go to the next step.

    5. connect the BlackBerry and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader

  • Smartphones from blackBerry Curve 8520 - back from repair - unlocked in the Pocket - forced threaded messaging

Just another curve to replace my one broken and the operating system has been automatically updated. Here are my big two (of many) questions:

    -Silly - mute button

I can't help but feel a phone unlocks as you put it in your Pocket is a bad design. Can I please have a way to stop or reassign the button mute? I almost always hit when pushing my phone in the Pocket.

No, I don't want to put a password, as I would forget it, and no I don't want to pay for a big dopey look awkward case.

I do not see why I we are not allowed to go back to unlock with star-appeal as previously.

    -Forced threaded Messaging.

I never liked this option and not only that, but he started crapping already upward, and prevents me from show ALL messages from a person sometimes until I battery restart everything.

Can I please have a way to go back to the thread of e-mail, to 'normal', or at least "half threaded? I don't like the look of MSN. Pure and simple.

I HAD the oldest operating system before he fell, but there is no way to reduce the repair one.

Hi, I recently had this software but I upgraded myself to my netbook, it would be easier and simpler, but I didn't like it. so I went down there myself once again, all you have to do...

first step, you have the blackberry desktop software on your pc? If so click it and connect your phone to your pc by usb port. When you have done that it should connect you, if you have a password on your mobile phone for example go main menu type that in, otherwise, do not to worry the software you want to get off at is v4.6.1.314 click the device on the upper left corner, options of the device and must say update click that and it will tell the software that you have updated and one you updated since, if you click on the update of v4.6.1.314 that you had before, then press update, it will start automatically making the v4.6.1.314 version, do not take your mobile phone to any process. It could take up to 30 minutes. IV of hope has helped you!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones USE FOR CURVE 8520 WIFI

I recently bought a blackberry curve 8520 with Fido. My phone is connected to my wifi at home, but I want to assure you that I'm strictly using data NOT wifi (because I don't have a data plan). I noticed that in a network public wifi, a red asterisk * - appears on the WiFi icon in the upper right of the phone. Like this:

(the WiFi symbol is surrounded to demonstrate what I mean when I say WiFi symbol and the asterisk appeared like this)

However on my home network, if it says it is connected, the asterisk does not appear. As you can see it it says "Fido-peanut" (my router name) which means that Yes, I'm "connected..." BUT without the red asterisk on the wifi symbol (with my home WiFi) does that mean that I am not connected correctly?  I called Fido and the CSR said she thinks she has something to do with login password in public WiFi, but she's not sure.

The problem seems to be this: when I go on 'The Mobile Network Options' to activate ""data services ' OFF(to make sure that I am only using wifi and no data), the connection fails and I get this message: "

When I turn it on, I am able to connect.

    For ""connection preference ": "

what setting should I put if I don't want to use any WIFI data BUT?  Yes, the obvious answer would be to choose "WI - Fi" only, but this means that I won't be able to call/text because my mobile connection turns off.

So, how can I make sure I'm really only using wifi and not data when both the data service is turned ON and my wifi is 'connected '?

It is a list of what I've done:

    (1) the HOTSPOT USER - check.

    (2) insterted PIN provided by the phone to my dlink router (via online)

    (3) tried the push button configuration

    (4) restarted my router/modem

    5) there is a check mark next to the WiFi connection:

It would seem that I am connected to Wifi, but again, to reiterate, that I would like to ask if the WiFi is the ONLY thing I use and not data.

    Thank you!

It's pretty simple... IF you are connected to your network Mobile disabled (no phone calls or SMS) you will use ONLY WiFi. Only. As long as you have the 'white' dashboard and the name of the network "green peanut butter", you are connected to WiFi, but without BIS BlackBerry data services.

If you disable Data Services, you will not be able to use data in any form (via WiFi or Mobile network, if it is enabled.)

No BlackBerry data plan, you will be able to use the WiFi hotspot browser and some few third-party apps like Pandora radio.

  • Update of Smartphones from blackBerry Curve 8310

Hello. I realize that there are a lot of topics explaining OE to upgrade these smartphones. However, none of them address the issue I am experiencing.

I'm trying to upgrade Blackberry Curve my wife v4.2.2.181 (Platform 2.5.0.35) to the latest OS (v4.5.0.302).

It's an O2 handset unlocked running on Vodafone UK.

I run the Desktop v6 software. It recognizes the phone without problem, but will not accept that there is an upgrade available.

I downloaded the new OS and deleted the file vendor.xml without success.

The opening of the list of applications in the desktop software, it shows only three applications: Bloss (Status: mandatory); Bloss One Click (Status: mandatory); and Google Sync (Status: installed).

    Screenshot:

I get the same list of apps in the app Loader program. I know that from my own phone (Curve 8320 which walking without probs) it should show the OS and various other softphone.

I would be grateful for any idea that anyone can give!

    Hello

I advice you jump in front of Desktop software (with the exception of the backup/restore). From a PC, you can install any bundle of BONES to a BB via this procedure:

Note that although written for "reload", it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or recharge - it depends on the OS package you download and install on your PC. You can even use a different OS package carriers simply insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML. remember that you remove, since any other devices OS BB as packages with more than one installed on the PC, your PC may result in conflicts with this procedure.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones New Blackberry Curve 8520 - configuration of e-mail and network problems

Hello! My friend bought a new Blackberry Curve 8520. It is based in South Africa. She is facing 2 problems: 1. in the corner right gprs/edge is displayed in small fonts, and she is not able to use the inernet for applications. The phone was for 30 hours, and he still has not changed. 2. When you complete the setup of e-mail, it is only given the option to select a professional e-mail address, and there is no option to add a personal e-mail address. Help, please! I made a move on the phone and also reset, but the problem persists.

Do you have a data Plan BlackBerry enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?

You have to, to get the push RIM email functions you are looking for, as well as services of BlackBerry data such as the Web browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger and much more.

Then call your carrier and you learn about to have added to your account BlackBerry data Plan.

  • Smartphones from blackBerry Curve 8330 sync with Mac

I just bought my Blackberry Curve and it is not sync with Mac pocket... is there a solution for mac users?

If you have one of the new fast devices, you may need to use a patch.  It is not a problem with your device: it is just that the connection software has been changed AFTER the last program of PocketMac has been published.  A new is put to the test, but for the moment, there is a patch to connect to your new devices.  There is a special way to install it on top of the regular program of PocketMac, so just follow these steps and you should be able to connect:

Is there a solution for this. First of all, go to the download page: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/mac.jsp

and start the download process. When you move to the download screen, select PocketMac V4.0.20b for BlackBerry. Then, on the next screen, you have two choices of program to download.

You've probably already downloaded the first one under the heading "PocketMac V4.0.20b for BlackBerry." If you have deleted it, go ahead and download again.

Since you have one of the newer devices (like the 8110, 8120, 8130, 8310 or 8330), you may also need to download the patch that allows to connect you to those as well. This patch is on the same page, the section, "PocketMac Driver update - DriverUpdate.dmg."

    TO INSTALL:
1 IMPORTANT: Disconnect your BlackBerry from your Macintosh.
    2. If you have uninstalled PocketMac for BlackBerry, reinstall the main program now.
    3. when the Setup program has finished, you will be asked to reboot. DO NOT CLICK on the button to restart.
    4. install the driver update file please, this installer will finish very quickly.
    5. Finally, restart the Macintosh, now that the software driver and application updater installers are completed.

Once restart is completed, please launch PocketMac for Blackberry, then plug-in your BlackBerry handheld. Click the sync button to start the synchronization session.

If you can still can connect, here are a few steps you can perform to ensure that the new patch is installed correctly:

    1. Please disconnect your BlackBerry and account up to 60 seconds. This allows for the
driver for completely free. (Probably, the pilot was not out there the last time you tried to install the patch, if it has not installed correctly.)

    2. Please open Finder and navigate to the following location: MacintoshHD/System/Library/Extensions /.

    3. in the "Extensions" folder, you will see a list of .kext files. Scroll down the long list and locate the two files that begin with «BlackBerry» files

    4. Please remove these two files from your Mac: 'BlackBerry.kext' and 'BlackBerryUSBDev.kext '. You will need your administrator password Apple user account to delete these files in the Extensions folder. After in this case, empty your trash, please.

6 reinstall the driver. When you finish the program installation/driver package, please reboot your Macintosh.

    7. Finally, plug your BlackBerry handheld, then launch PocketMac for BlackBerry. PocketMac Sync Manager should now be able to find your BlackBerry.

CHRISALIS, try this first... with your 9380 connected to the wall charger and BlackBerry power, remove the battery and reinsert it to restart. This will often reset the battery meter on the device (which over time can become out of sync with the actual load of the battery). You may need to try this over a few times the next day and the next.

Don't let not your battery to flow all the way to 0-10%, top it off during the day when you can, even for 15 minutes.

  • Smartphones from blackBerry Curve 9380 - gel/pause

I've had this phone for nearly 18 months without any problem, but last week I almost he threw out the window!

For starters, he did pause for a few seconds, making send SMS, e-mail etc very frustrating! You might be texting, and then it is paused on everything that touches your tent to support on, then will take between 5 and 20 seconds to come for herself. Sometimes when I unlock or just try to navigate the phone - its fustrating Yes aswell!

And then yesterday and today, the battery had drained by noon, although he had been accused of the overnight! I rebooted my phone at noon today, and its once again once drained (18:20)!

They relate, or if my phone died?

Hello and welcome to the community!

Please try this sequence... Note that, throughout the whole 4h15m process, your BB should stay connected to a good charger (not the USB PC):

    1. With battery, connect your BB to the wall charger
    2. Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not
    3. Remove the battery
    4. Wait 15 minutes
    5. Insert the battery
    6. Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not

This has been known to "revive" some BBs.

It is also possible that your battery or BB has encountered a problem... to test, this sequence is necessary:

    1. Get a known good and already fully charged battery... use it in your BB and see what happens
    2. Get access to a BB good and the same known... use your battery in there and see what happens

The results of this will show if your BB or your battery that has the problem.

You can also try to start safe mode:

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. • Smartphones from blackBerry Curve 8530 has stopped responding during the wipe - I'm in trouble!

    Hey Gang,

I'm in a bit of a jam and I hope someone here can help. I searched the forum for an answer but couldn't locate one.

I have a Blackberry Curve 8530 and he knows some from time to time to gel.

    Model: BlackBerry Curve 8530

    Carrier: Koodo Mobile (Canada)

    Software version: Bundle 5.0 1108

I decided tonight to backup all my data and do a "Wipe of security" in the menu options.

I selected these two options, type "blackberry" and clicked on "wipe".

I currently have the popup on my screen that says:

    "Deleting information...".
WARNING: do not pull the battery until the erasure is complete. »

On top of this popup is the formidable clock Blackberry with him will hand turns around and around (like an hourglass would be on a PC when it is "thought").

It has been like this for nearly two hours now and seems to not react any longer.

    UPDATE:

OK... good news... of all kinds...

The phone has finally turned on and proceeded to go up through the deletion process and it now on the home screen.

Now, the only problem is that when I wiped it off, the programs that I had downloaded previously are still on the device so it didn't completely wipe it off as I intended.

I'll try another rag and hope for the best.

    See you soon!
