Snow Leopard or more recent album CS6?

Amazon is display a CS6 Snow Leopard disc for $500. New CS6 drives are going for over $ 600. I have an Intel Mac running Mountain Lion (10.8.2). Can I use the version of CS6 snow Leoprad, or what I need to get the latest most expensive? What is the difference between the 2 versions usable?

I have discussed two of my colleagues, here is what they said

Amazon is a legitimate and accredited reseller for Adobe software.

People who sell Adobe Amazon Marketplace products are not legitimate dealers. Do not confuse Amazon Amazon Marketplace. For Amazon and Amazon Marketplace web pages look like. However, the presence of a name of seller and an abnormally low cost may indicate a purchase made on Amazon Marketplace

What printer will work well with system 10.6.8 v.1.1 and leave like lion, mountain lion, Yosemite and same El capitan? Work on snow leopard and have a MacBook Pro bought in 2010 and that works very well. Would I be able to upgrade to El capitan? Received a message a while back from Apple to install makes me believe it's possible. And no problem, the upgrade to all the other intermediate systems mentioned? Have been looking online for a reliable site for printer, but have not found a definitive.

    Please take a look at...

    https://www.Apple.com/OSX/how-to-upgrade/#hardware-requirements

Who should you help to see if your model is supported & see what features it supports.

Have you already 10.7, 10.8, 10.9 and 10.10 purchased in your Mac App store account? Apple has removed these from the store so you can't buy more. You can download them only as a "purchase".

You don't need them if your Mac can run 10.11, you can ignore the versions if you wish. Backup before you apply any update - just in case where do multiple backups

What about the printer - I don't know, sorry, you need to wait for others to answer or try Google, etc.

  • Snow Leopard in 2016

Someone at - it still under Snow Leopard? I recently had to be converted to El Capitan as my Snow Leopard machine (Mint 2006 24 "iMac 2.33 GHz, 3 GB RAM, 500GB HDD) came down. It seems to be the GPU after many tests and diagnostics. I can still boot the old machine of SL in startup target Mode on the iMac 27 "most recent (2010 3.2 GHz, 12 GB of RAM, HARD drive 1 TB nine). The 27 "came with El Capitan. I don't like ELCapitan far, seems stable. 21.5 "iMac my wife (3.06 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD) was still Snow Leopard and I was about to upgrade to El Capitan the other day that I was doing a job (add 4 GB of RAM, which in fact now, 8 GB of RAM), adding a new external HARD drive, and it cleaning inside and out...) but I decided to hold off. The iMac has run perfect with zero problems for 7 years now... hate to mess with that. I said I would not SL upgrade at all and held until my "Legacy" machine is down. Thought I like El Capitan, I will say that I miss good old snow leopard. My wife's IMac will stay with Sl for now.

My question is General for the sake of the discussion...

Is it always safe and viable to be under Snow Leopard in 2016?

Apple leave supports SL years ago, this means that the security updates were not produced for some time. So if he is safe or not not to use is totally up to you.

  • iPhoto on Snow Leopard not geolocate more!

Suddenly iPhoto ' 09 v8.1.2 (424) on Snow Leopard 10.6.8 does not appear geotags more!

They have always been correctly posted so far...

Neihter for old photos (taken by iPod touch 4th generation with iOs 4, but also other cameras to gps), nor to the more recent (taken by the iPhone 4S with iOs 8.3).

None of my S. O. (OS X and iOs) never improved from those residing at the same time, with the only significant exception of 7.1.2 to 8.3 on the iPhone natively.

    Any advice?

Geolocation in older versions of iPhoto uses Google maps.  Apple has not renewed the contract with Google, and now iPhoto and Aperture cannot access Google's servers to retrieve the cards or place names.

The only versions of iPhoto, which can always use the functionality of the site are iPhoto 9.5.1 and iPhoto 9.6.1, because they use the new map servers provided by Apple.  You cannot use more locations in your version of iPhoto.

To use the places with upgrade of the standard software from Apple for Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan and migrate your iPhoto libraries to the new Photos.app.

Apple has stopped the development of iPhoto and not to sell more, so you can't buy the only working version 9.6.1 any longer.

The contract between Apple and Google for the use of Google maps with iPhoto 9.4.3 and earlier for locations an elderly couple of months expired and was not renewed.

Now uses Apple its own program for locations maps and too the use you need to run iPhoto 9.5.1 and Mavericks or 9.6.1 and Yosemite El Capitan or Photos and El Capitan.

However, in order to get iPhoto 9.5 9.6.1 you must have a version of 9.X to Apple iPhoto has purchased and installed.  Because you can not buy Apple iPhoto 9 more your only option is to upgrade to El Capitan (a free update if your Mac supports 10.11.1) which will include pictures.

Your Macbook model can run El Capitan and should be upgraded to 8 GB of memory from Crucial.com.  If you have the base 2 GB memory which is not sufficient to run El Capitan.  If you have 4 GB which works, but with your old machine upgrade to 8 GB will offer significant performance improvements.

  • My inner smartdrive dvd player won't read DVDs more.  I have updated to Snow Leopard in Yosemite.

I am currently using OS X Yosemite 10.10.5.  I bought in 2009 iMac with Snow Leopard and have to Lion then updated my current operating system.  The internal dvd player has worked with much fussing, (insert the disc - closing - turn after a wait - by pushing the drive when he jumped on reboot).  If I had the chance after a few hours, the video disc show up on my desk.  When this happened, I was opening the dvd player that was in the Finder and the disc would play. I also tried to open the dvd first player and then insert the disc.  That no longer works.  Yesterday, only it just stop working.  The reader still takes dvd and swirls and click as before but then ejects the dvd. Repeatedly stop and restart is no longer works.  I make sure that the dvd be clean before I use it and have tried many different DVDs without success.  I think it's a software issue.  Does anyone have an idea/instructions a nearly dead grandmother brain that can follow to update or redate back to original factory setting to help this poor Smartdrive not so smart?

I have no TV, only my computer and phone at low prices.  I need to watch that my library borrowed from the dvd.

    Thank you.

    Hello

After upgrading to Snow Leopard, I can't find my scan feature.

    I tried to different paths:

    1. install such as proposed through the Apple software update: no scanner not found, printing is working A-OK

    2. install HP_Installer_PSC2500_v9.7.dmg: does not work, gives errors.

Removed all and re-installed the Apple / drivers HP through software update

I've tested the HW, works fine, can sweep on the machine itself, but it is not a solution.

I am enough fan of this machine, 100% over the years in the home network.

    Does anyone have a suggestion?

    Appreciate your help :-)

  • Why my Photoshop CS4 crashes with Snow Leopard!

To get my machine to work faster, an employee of the apple store said I should update to snow leopard and get more RAM.

Update of Snow Leopard - done.  version 10.6.2

RAM - ordered more than crucial 2 GB, not yet installed.

    Material:

    Model name: iMac

    Model identifier: iMac8, 1

Processor name: Intel Core 2 Duo

    Processor speed: 3, 06Ghz

    Number of processors: 1

    Total number of cores: 2

    Boot ROM version: IM81.00C1.B00

Version of the SCM (System): 1.30f1

    Software:

    Photoshop CS4 11.0.1

Since the upgrade, I got accident after accident in photoshop and bridge.  Other time PS freezes and I have to force quit.  My tools do not work correctly.  Accidents happen so often and it is difficult to say what / if any particular sequence of events do occur.  I can only work in PS for a few minutes before an accident occurs somewhere between 0 and 12 minutes usually.  (embarrassing because I'm a designer of wedding album, PS is is my only way to do my job.)

Some examples of common problems are:

-my free transform tool gives an error saying that it can't run because of a program error.

-My shortcuts are block when you try to use them to change between the tools, especially when you use the zoom tool or the brushes

-marquis tool does not appear when I make a selection

-images do not open when I drag or double-click them to the bridge in PS

-After registration and closing of an image PS unresponsive and requires a force quite

-my last accident was PS just left without any warning, everything disappeared and the accident report appeared, I just press Ctrl + s to save it when it happened.

Things I did to try to fix:

--also ran all updates posted on adobe and apple for the two products.

-management of fonts: cleaned FontExplorerXPro of directories virtually essential system fonts and fonts cleaned cash in each place, I knew to go to search

--i do not have police menlo

-uninstalled all Adobe products (not reported, removed preference files, use Appzapper and then used the adobe uninstaller program, then all of the remaining Adobe files were thrown and trash emptied, computer restarted.) * this is the most recent during the uninstall and reinstall attempt, the first time that I just use uninstall adobe who obviously has not actually deleted the program and all files.  boring.  However, after each resettlement problems continued as if nothing had been done.

i do not use some third-party plug-ins 3 to my knowledge (how would I know?  could they be installed without being intentionally?

I have attached my latest crash report for this.

I need this job.  This machine and the program were too expensive to do my life that miserable.  Especially when the upgrade has been recommended by apple. and adobe site has no major problems to report the snow leopard.  the fact that the work that would have taken four hours took me about 2 days between accidents is a pretty big problem for me.  as is the fact that I have a piece of a $3,000 in equipment on my desktop which is practically worthless at the moment.

    Help, please!

Make sure that you delete this file com.adobe.Photoshop.plist in your user/Library/Preferences folder. Clean all the caches, then restart.

Also click on the Adobe Photoshop CS4 file and then get info. If there is a selection in there to open using Rosetta ensure is not checked. It is not a selection to open with Rosetta but why PS tries to run in the PPC code. The Type of Code: should be X 86 (native)

Also make sure that our FontExplorer X Pro shop does not work under Rosetta.

When you installed 10.6 have you install Rosetta. Maybe someone else can comment on that but Rosetta is necessary for some reason any run Adobe Photoshop CS4, but I have not heard that.

  • Install Snow Leopard on iMac 2.8 GHz Quad Core i5

I just bought a refurbished 21.5 in iMac 2.8 GHz Quad Core Intel Core i5 on the Apple Store to replace an aging 21.5 in iMac 3.06 GHz Intel Core i3. The new iMac has 10 El Capitan 10.11.6 OS and the old iMac OS Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

I have old versions of Quark Xpress, Photoshop, Illustrator and Filemaker Pro on the old iMac running SL and I want to continue to use these. I am now retired and can no longer pay to upgrade.

I partitioned the HD on the new iMac and had hope install SL and migrate all my old files from the old computer. I tried to recover from a Time Machine backup since the iMac old and installation of the system from a bootable USB stick SL. None of them has allowed me to move forward.

Has anyone else tried this and succeeded? Will I have to completely erase the HD in the new computer, partition the drive, install SL on a partition and, on the other?

I've seen similar issues but no response to my problem. Real help would be appreciated.

Your mac is not designed to work in 10.6 and the operating system will prevent installation of 10.6 using the API. While this is possible through virtualization, but you will be using a 3rd party solution to do something your mac was not intended to do and any instability could be traced back to this.

Use the version of Mac OS X included with your Mac, or a more recent compatible version - Apple Support

  • Leopard Snow Leopard Mail Inbox

I'll have to manual transfer of files from a G4 Mini under Leopard 10.5.8 on a Mini Intel Snow Leopard 10.6.8.  I copied my Leopard user (folder) files on an external drive of the mini old and now have the drive mounted on the new mini.  From there I copy the files in the folder to the homepage of Snow Leopard.  In the library folder > Mail, I copied my mailboxes of Leopard folder and who worked for these mailboxes that I created in the mail in Snow Leopard.  However, I also wanted my old leopard Inbox and sent mailbox emails transferred to Snow Leopard.

Here's what I did that did not work.  I hope someone can tell me what I need to do.

Home > library > Mail folder, there is a folder called POP @(my e-mail addy).  In this folder is a folder named INBOX.mbox and in which is a folder named Messages.  I copied the contents of my Leopard Messages in the Messages of Snow Leopard folder folder, but the messages are not displayed in my mail in Snow Leopard.  (Note: I get my e-mail address by downloading the mail to my e-mail provider's website and it is immediately removed from their server, which I assume has to do with the POP thing, but is probably not relevant to my question.)

Any ideas on how I can get my box Mail Leopard Inbox and sent messages in the Mail in Snow Leopard?

I am a novice trying to do this gesture of a very old mini and BONE, a slightly more recent mini and an OS system behind-the-times.  The reason why I do it manually is due to problems with the migration wizard and the modification of a G4 at and Intel.

    Thank you!

    Hello

In the menu item Mail Dile, choose Import the mailboxes, choose Mail for Mac OS x, choose the high of 10.4 user library folder mail folder, wait while he looks for the boxes it can import, choose the ones you want, they will be imported in an area called the import, from there you can move the Inbox or where ever.

  • Leopard MacBook pro late 2008 - updated to update to snow leopard

I have a macbook pro late 2008 with leopard on updated to snow leopard, which is the best upgrade, that I can do without problems?

I upgraded to 8 GB memory and 500 GB MMX 200 ssd.  tTe upgrade was necessary because I installed el capitan and he absolutely killed my mac, so I got the diagnostics to find my drive was not hard.

I'll reinstall leopard and use my snow leopard updated, but to what extent until I can go without problems over?

In theory, it must be able to handle El Capitan. You can't really judge El Capitan performance enough if you ran it on a bad HARD drive.

Your only real options stay with Snow Leopard, goes to the mountain, which is still fairly recent, Lion or El Capitan.  I think most people would say that Lion (10.7) alone is not worthwhile.  Mavericks and Yosemite are no longer available unless you already have a copy.  Mountain Lion is no longer receiver update but is not a fall to the same extent (yet) by the developers of software under Snow Leopard.  Some claim that it is the operating system more acceptable from 10.6.  You can always buy a download code for it.

  • Newer systems as beautiful as Snow Leopard?

My HP printer has been replaced under warranty.  It wouldn't work with my Snow Leopard operating system.  I had used the OS 10.6 since 2009.  In order to get functions limited to work with my iMac, I had to get a third-party driver.  HP technicians told me that if I am a Lion of the mountains or of the Mavericks, and then the printer will work.  I upgraded to Mountain Lion this month and just got my iMac back on March 10.

My first impression of Mountain Lion, is that, in my view, that designers could not make up their minds that they were designing for a smartphone, tablet or desktop computer.  It doesn't impress me at all.  At least my printer works fully with the OS now.  But, there are so many things that I don't like and I've been a Mac user since I had my first Macintosh computer which was a Macintosh LC.

I can do to help give the look and feel of Snow Leopard Mountain Lion without actually going back to Snow Leopard?

If this is not possible, can someone tell me if Apple brought all the qualities of Snow Leopard back to one of the more recent than the Cougar systems?

My computer went from OS to OS 10.8.5 10.6.8.  I was happy with OS 10.6.8.  I am not happy with OS 10.8.5.

The two OS X 10.8 and 10.9 (is no longer available, at all) have things like launch pad and other things that combine ideas of iOS with OS X.

It's the way it is and cannot be changed.

If you don't like the changes in OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, you will be more disappointed by OS X 10.10 OS X 10.11 El Capitan and Yosemite (also abandoned).

While functionally, EL Capitan has a lot more features and is a better OS X Yosemite, visually, it's a mess with brighly color icons looking for dishes that make the BONE resembles the computer of a young child.

The worst interface still looks against a real world screen background image.

OS X interface looking for anything just horrible!

That said, you had / have an option to install your new OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion on a hard drive external and only boot to it when you need to use the new printer. You could have kept OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard on your internal Mac hard drive and continue to use it and all applications.

    That's what I do.

I have several copies of versions of Mac OS X 10.6.8 10.8.5, 10.9.5 and 10.11 on external hard drives and still use OS X 10.6.8 as my main OS X version.

You're right about this version of OS X being that the best version of OS X Apple ever designed!

However, I had to stop using the version of Safari for OS X 10.6.8 Web browser because it is old and is no longer being updated and no security updates were issued for her over the years.

I use the version of compatible OS X 10.6.8 recent of Mozilla Firefox, which is still current, updated and supported on OS X Snow Leopard.

  • Officejet Pro L 7680 problems after update drivers from leopard to snow leopard

Updated to Snow Leopard from Leopard on Mac Pro with 4 HD and 12 GB of RAM.

Follow the instructions in the Web site for the upgrade to the new driver from HP.  When I click on the HP utility now I get the error message:

"Incompatible components - some components installed on your computer have been developed for a different version of the HP utility. These components will not be loaded and some features related to your device won't be available. Please click on HP assistance point in the toolbar to visit the online HP Support site and download the latest versions of the HP software. "Some features do not appear in the HP utility, including scan functions.

Followed the instructions to the letter.  No mention of deleting the HP files in the library.  Would this sole the problem?  Receive information on how to get rid of the old version and install the new one driver version. Thanks, Araya

    Hi Araya,

Please run a scrubber to remove any HP software installed on your Mac, it will remove most recent and any previous Mac software as well:

    * Please note that the following steps will delete all HP software installed.

    1. click on menu go (click the desktop, then watch the menu in the bar at the top of the page)
    2. Select Applications
    3 select the Hewlett-Packard folder
    4. double-click on uninstall HP application
5 follow the uninstall to prompt to select a device to uninstall
    6. press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard at the same time as you click on uninstall
7 approve any prompt to uninstall all HP software.

In order to avoid any possible problem, also to repair disk permissions before installing the software:

    1. open the Applications folder.
    2. go to the Utilities folder.
    3. double-click on disk utility.
4 Select the hard disk that contains the boot volume.
    5. go to the first aid tab and select Repair disk permissions.
Note: This process may take several minutes depending on the Mac and the amount of the permissions that need to be repaired. The journal of the progress will tell you when the process is complete.

Then install the software for Snow Leopard. as you probably more download this file already, just check by comparing the name of the file:

    http://FTP.HP.com/pub/softlib/software11/COL30718/MP-76100-1/HP_Installer_Officejet_Full_Group08_10.3.dmg

After completing the installation, restart the mac and install the latest driver by clicking the Apple icon, then software updated.

Please let me know of any problems,

    Shlomi

  • Snow Leopard does not recognize the 6MP

I recently installed Snow Leopard and found that it does not support Apple Talk I used to connect to my old HP LaserJet 6MP. I bought a 6 ' parallel-USB cord and connected the printer to a USB port on the back of my Mac Pro. The 6MP do not arise when I went to print, so I tried to add a printer and had a driver called "HP LaserJet 6MP - Gutenprint v5.2.3." Now "Prolific Technology Inc. IEEE-1284 of the controller" appears in my list of printers, but when I try to print the window says "printer offline". I tried a "Restart" but that did not help. Do I have a cable problem or a driver problem?

I got a response on a cnet forum and took the advice.

Probably both. These cables are people who don't know any better and they will buy in the hope of saving some money. About 99.9% of the time, you end up money for cable AND a new device. Either the driver is not configured to search for a printer with this kind of connection, or cable is just flat shit, it really doesn't make much difference in the end.

So in the end this for you. You can either beat his head against the wall for a few days, hoping to get lucky and solve this problem, you most likely will not... Or you can just accept that it's time to move from your old printer and get something a more modern touch. I know the old LaserJet were built like tanks and may include the energizer Bunny, but chances are that she needs a new unit of fusion, transfer roller and many other things. The quality degradation was probably so slow and subtle, you never even noticed.

You can get a lot of decent laser printers for cheap that will work with Mac OS X. printers that will not cause the lights to decrease intensity within a three block radius when you turn it on. Samsung has a couple in their series of ML which may be worth looking at the about $150US range. Their PPM is probably a bit higher. They use the host CPU to do a lot of heavy loads, but a Mac Pro can ignore that as there is nothing.
