  You can also study the PC-based applications that can extract data from these backup files (there are several other free who, I am told, work very well). What you declare is quite strange, and if it was me I would be worried about suspicions of corruption... it never hurts to have multiple sources of the same backup (for example, the BBB/IPD file and the contents extracted).

  Its my personal opinion that never perform a Device Software Update Over the Air, you can also try a manual update process that is more convenient and more secure. To do that just follow these simple steps:

  1. find your carrier and download the operating system you want to leave here, BlackBerry software download Site

  • (Make sure you download for the same model you have)

  2. double-click on the file downloaded to install it on your PC

  3. download and install the latest version of BlackBerry desktop by BlackBerry desktop software software

  Hello, I have a Blackberry Torch 9810 and when I connect it to my Windows 7 laptop. device is detected by the computer, and I am able to access all my files, & add/remove files as I want. However, when I use Blackberry Desktop manager or BBSAK, or run the Application Loader. the three programs cannot detect the device. When you use the Application Loader, where it should say "COM1" or "USB - PIN: UNKNOWN", it's white, & you can't select anything. I'm trying to do two things.   It begins with a process to start properly, and there is an exchange of views. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work... but it worked to much to solve the problems they have. You could add to it the use of Revo or another tool to remove own software... There are cases where things are left behind, and if they are corrupt, they can prevent the resettlement work correctly. The goal is to completely, remove from your PC, everything that is in no way, shape, or form associated with BB (registry entries, ignored of records, etc.).

  I had problems with my touch screen not working not.  After searching online it was suggested that the software might require the upgrade so I downloaded it.

  Now, my phone got lock up to 16% of the backup is complete.  I can't at this point that every time I turn the phone on it get to the same point and stop.  The battery hold a charge then over heating and I have to turn off the phone and remove the battery.

  I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

  It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

  If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

  But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

  The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

  (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

  2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

  (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

  (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

  • http://us.BlackBerry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
  • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

  5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

  • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
  • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

  Today I plugged BB9320 my wife to the laptop for the load and the BB Desktop Software identified one update, 7.1.2753. In the end, I have connected my BB9900 but no software updates found, can anyone tell why this should be the case please?

  There are two methods for recovering for you to try:
