  How can I actually speak to technical support issues to nulitple with multiple devices (software, hardware, account problems,) I have a touch screen of hp with windows 7 Home, Ipod, home router wireless, boost, WiFi, wii, etc.... Problems with windows live net Passport vs msn Id, problems with zune vs itunes and windows media that nobody wants play nice together.

  My touchscreen notes will use only a google account, music another program, and of course until recently google was not an option on the windows phone. of course if I'm going now that I'll lose all the games and music. I really regret the time and money I spent. I could every Mac.

• Color management in PS and monitor calibration

  I calibrated my colors of monitors with a colorimeter Eye One Display 2 and for photoshop, I attributed the monitors that he created the color profile to the work area (Edition > assign profile).
  But for photography I take pictures with the color profile setting AdobeRGB on my camera... should I use this instead of that color profile when working on photos in PS? They look a bit washed out. I guess I should continue to use my profile of monitors calibrated instead?

  I was confused in the same way and some time ago I asked a similar question here, but now I think I understand better and will try to explain. I'd appreciate also correction or a confirmation of those who understand this.

  Photoshop like all other color management programs, knows how the monitor displays colors of the color profile that is installed in the system.

  When you use an image with an embedded profile, Photoshop converts the properly display (not the actual numbers) of color values so that the planned colors are displayed as accurately as possible.

  The profiles selected for workstations in the color settings will be affected only in the following situations:

  • When you create a new image, given that it is not replaced in the new options window dialog
  • When in the color settings color management policies are set to perform the conversion of workspace - this will convert the actual number of color values
  • When you choose not to handle colors in the profile attribute in the Edit menu - this will change the display as if the image was created with the current working space profile, will not change the number of color values.

  If an image is with the same color in the system monitor profile then there is no color management past up to the conversion or Proofing color with a different profile.

  It is recommended to work in a popular as sRGB or AdobeRGB color space, because the color management wise when the images are intended to be affixed to the devices and various monitors and more common ground as sRGB is used as a reference instead of a particular monitor color space.

  Can anyone recommend a good monitor calibration system (budget $300 limit)? I'll work on a book intended for offset printing press 4 colours, and the color is a major factor in the book. I'll never be, so I think it's time to take seriously the monitor calibration. I'm working on a new iMac, so I think that a good calibration system would be useful.

  Any thoughts? (Dumb question)

• Problem of monitor calibration

  It's really more a matter of Dell, but I guess that I have a better chance of getting an answer here I have to do with Dell technical support.

  I used an X-Rite i1Display Pro to calibrate my screen XPS1645 laptop, my Dell U2713H and my Cintiq 21UX, using a D65 white point. I want to create a second profile for each display, using a D50 white point. However, the Dell UltraSharp (latest version 1.5.10, in advanced mode) calibration Solution no longer displays a white point with the U2713H option. With the XPS and the Cintiq, no problem, but with the U2713H, the software display settings show primary RGB and Luminance, but no White Point. X-Rite support could not explain it. (Thanks, X-Rite). They suggested that I ask the support of level 3 of Dell. I thought I'd try this first forum. A someone that has met and solved this problem?

  You do not have the monitor in a fixed point-to-point white preset, such as sRGB or Adobe RGB? They are the two D65.

  When you use a calibrator that the monitor must be in native mode, no emulation. It is usually the predefined 'custom' or something similar.

  I have a Lacie320 monitor and I calibrate with a Display 2 EyeOne. My question is about the parameters. I have currently calibrated so the gamma is 2.2, the color temperature is 6500 k, and the luminance is 120. It is an ideal place? I often don't print my work, and it's especially on the web. I work in a very dark room, with little or no ambient light shining on the monitor. My luminance should be less?
  
  If someone could tell me if what I'm doing is right or not, it would be great. I'm always up when I see my pictures on another computer and they are completely different.

  Some people seem happy with their monitor to print match using the settings that you have posted.  I never could get a good match with these settings.  My impressions ALWAYS looked too yellow and too dark (in fact, the monitor is too blue and too bright, so while editing, you blow up the yellow and turn down the brightness, which is what appears in your print... too dark and yellow).

  You can create two separate calibrations, one for the web and for print.  My main concern is to print results, so I calibrate my monitor to 5200 K, 2.2 g, 90 cd/m2.  Seems pretty close to perfection for my setup. I would recommend anywhere between 5000K and 5500 K color and 85 to 100 cd/m2 for the luminance.  I leave my monitor has put out there, even for my work based on the web, knowing that others can see my images brighter and cooler.  I don't worry about internet as monitors of the peoples are anyway in all directions.

  On a Mac, you can change the profiles to monitor any time you want, without any additional software.

  If you're on a PC, download (free) DisplayProfile.exe the site of XRite.  It allows you to load different profiles in your map video on the fly.  It requires the proper profile, but ProfileMaker tags both EyeOne Display (Eye One Match) have these tags.  They have a complementary, also free, program called Tester calibration, which shows the curves of writing to the video card, but this is not necessary unless you are curious and just want to play.

  One of my clients uses a PIX515E - their external interface shutsdown nightly and actually they do not have internet until they reset the new equipment. The external NETWORK adapter is connected directly to a cable modem. My suspicion is that the cable modem is screwing up and needs to be reset more than the firewall. I want to monitor/journal NIC events to ensure that the material is ok though. How can I do this?

• What temperature of monitor calibration depends on season?

  I just bought X-rite calibration kit, but one thing makes me curious. Should I set more point cold white (6500K) for the summer and warmer (5000K) for the winter?

  Climate warming will affect my current settings?

  There is no "correct" value for the white point - or rather, the correct value is that which gives you a Visual correspondence from the white screen of white paper. This applies to the luminance as well.

  First of all, you must have a working controlled - environment precisely to avoid the seasons or the time of day affect your perception. Windows are always a problem; protect them as much as you can.

  Get a Visual correspondence depends a lot of ambient light and the observing conditions. If strictly in the sense you are on the right idea (although it would be the other way around), but this can be addressed in a schematic way. It is much more subtle and require some trial and error.

  There are two ways to attack this. If you print yourself, this can be controlled very precisely by implementing a viewing print station, using light controlled, preferably right next to the screen. Then you calibration settings, visually, to match as closely as possible. The white point must not be 6500K or 5000K, it may be something between the two. It doesn't even have to be along the Kelvin scale, well, you had to adjust along the Green/magenta axis as well. Some white paper matches is the correct white point.

  If you work for offset printing, or other off-site, you have less control and need to be listening "medium" print conditions But the same principle applies: = white screen white paper. Even if you work exclusively for (web) screen, this will put you on the same page that people who calibrate similarly.

  Often overlooked, but equally important, is the beach of point black/contrast. Again, the print output is the key. A glossy photo of good quality paper can have a range of around 300: 1 contrast. Papers masts considerably less, perhaps 150:1 and offset print even lower. In practice, this means a blackhead around 0.3 - 0.5 cd/m². With i1Profiler you directly set contrast range.

  Monitor as manufacturers announce a high contrast, like 1000: 1 or greater. In reality, which means you're in for an unpleasant surprise when you see the final result on paper.

  Assuming that you are in the Camera Raw forum because you shoot Raw files, the color in your camera profile is largely irrelevant. The RAW files do not have the standard color spaces. The camera color space setting is designed to in-camera processing, which produces the Preview on the monitor image back and (optionally) a JPEG image.

  [Some people shoot JPEG and treat the latter with Camera Raw too.] Their options are very limited in this way, due to the constraints of JPEG format and the fact that a large part of the image has already been scrapped (and cannot be retrieved).]

  The color space is defined at the time of the conversion, in camera, or on the computer. In the case of the cab, the settings of the workspace at the bottom of the plug-in window determine the target color space (not Photoshop).

  

  Photoshop workspace color space setting sets the default color for a new document space. If you have imported an AdobeRGB ACR conversion in Photoshop (with sRGB as the default Photoshop workspace), he would normally ask if you want to keep the AdobeRGB color space, or convert in the sRGB working color space. I mainly use Photoshop for photo editing, so my working space setting is AdobeRGB - the same that my setting Camera Raw to workspace.

  If I need images for the web, I use save for Web to create a sRGB conversion.

  Since then, I am now seriously Pre Pro and AE, I think its time to overcome the uncertainty about how to calibrate.   The only thing I have to judge the color of my work is my computer screens and television when I burn a DVD.

  So I am looking for any advice during calibration.  I use an Apple monitor and an old HP 72 monitor to my second screen.

  When show controls in system preferences, I was wondering does choose any particular resolution made for a display better or more accurate video on the monitor.

  My Systerm preferences color screen has 5 display profiles including the one I created with the calibration Assistant: (1) Cinema HD (which I created after you have used the wizard of Cailibrator);    (2) adobe RGB (1998).   (3) generic RGB profile;   (4) D8904CN21 HP (my second monitor); and (5) sRGB IEC61966 - 2.1

  For video work, always leave the default sRGB. Everything else would be just tilt the color any more away. Yet, without a proper calibration device, which is going to be perfect, either. You screen brightness could be a basket case, could have set the color in 1 million other places on the monitor or the graphics card and so on... It really comes down to measure on your screens and create a color profile for them. So, if you are really interested, at least borrow a Spyder, EyeOne, Colormunki or similar to see, once how your screens should actually look like, when they are 'neutral '.

• HP 23xi monitor calibration

  I own a PC Toshiba laptop p875-7102-i7-3630qm Windows 8 with a brilliant display of 17.3 "1920 x 1080. It uses the integrated graphic chip Intel HD 4000.  I bought the HP 23xi based monitor very there comments.  Here's the thing, though: no matter what I do, I can't seem to get rid of the yellowish, this monitor seems to display.  Using HDMI, and VGA inputs (and BTW, the VGA seems better!), I was not able to get rid of it. Is it because of the on-screen anti-reflection coating? This is an IPS monitor, which I thought was supposed to lead to the best color saturation.  Compared side by side with the Toshiba screen clean laptop screen, the HP monitor is not as bright (painted white Web page especially to look much more yellow-brown).  In fact, it seems that Toshiba display is fresher and brighter. The HP is perhaps actually more precise color-wise-I don't know.  For those of you who own the HP, thanks for posting your picture settings and also if you get a better picture via the VGA input as opposed to HDMI (especially with the text).  On a separate note, I can't get audio when you use the HDMI, but I'll head to the Toshiba forums at this problem.  All my drivers for display, including CV, are up to date.
