The computer monitor calibration

Hi all

Since then, I am now seriously Pre Pro and AE, I think its time to overcome the uncertainty about how to calibrate.   The only thing I have to judge the color of my work is my computer screens and television when I burn a DVD.

So I am looking for any advice during calibration.  I use an Apple monitor and an old HP 72 monitor to my second screen.

When show controls in system preferences, I was wondering does choose any particular resolution made for a display better or more accurate video on the monitor.

My Systerm preferences color screen has 5 display profiles including the one I created with the calibration Assistant: (1) Cinema HD (which I created after you have used the wizard of Cailibrator);    (2) adobe RGB (1998).   (3) generic RGB profile;   (4) D8904CN21 HP (my second monitor); and (5) sRGB IEC61966 - 2.1

Which one should I use?

Thank you

For video work, always leave the default sRGB. Everything else would be just tilt the color any more away. Yet, without a proper calibration device, which is going to be perfect, either. You screen brightness could be a basket case, could have set the color in 1 million other places on the monitor or the graphics card and so on... It really comes down to measure on your screens and create a color profile for them. So, if you are really interested, at least borrow a Spyder, EyeOne, Colormunki or similar to see, once how your screens should actually look like, when they are 'neutral '.

  • Lights up turn of the computer - monitor remains blank

    • About 5 days ago, I was using my computer as usual. I have a game, was talking to some people and play music, everything works fine. Out of nowhere, my screen locked up, I thought he was just a typical gel, so I waited a minute or two while trying things like the Ctrl alt del and alt + tab, none of these things, do nothing at all. To speed up the process, I turned off the computer manually and turned it back. After back on the screen remains empty. When the device is turned on and that everything is working normally, the light on the power button on the monitor to blue. When the computer is not turned on but the monitor is, or when the computer is in "standby", the power button goes orange. After turning on the actual computer monitor screen remained pure black, and that the switch remained orange. The computer itself seems to turn on normally, the green light in the back turns on and remains solid, the two fans inside the Tower lights up and there is the noise of typical general snoring from the computer. Since then, I tried to unplug drain all the power and turn it back on, I reinstalled the RAM, I checked the card plugged into the VGA port has been completely connected (it was a problem in the past after sending in my computer when the VGA port had been fried. The symptoms at the time were essentially the same ones they are now corrected again when an operator HP had me check if this card was plugegd, it was not completely, I pushed it and it worked fine.) Anyway, this time I tried this card verification. I pushed a little more to check if that was the problem, it doesn't change anything. I tried another monitor (with a different cable), that doesn't change anything. My warranty on the computer turns off, so my only way to contact HP for help is with the online chat, and this conversation has done me any good. They had me try all the things I had already tried and then just told to take it into a store.

No, the second port works do not means that the embedded video is disabled. Here's a video explaining how to remove the video card. It has a tab, that you must move to release the card. Scroll down and you will see the different models.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01177594

It could still be the video card. Try to remove the card completely and the embedded video. Since your unable to see the screen, you can not enter the bios to see if the edge can be activated but sometimes when the card is to remove the edge can activate itself. If no luck, try another video card.

  • compatibility with the computer monitor mac laptop

I use a Mac Pro laptop with an external monitor to the HP 2511 x. It seems to be an incompatibility with these devices. When Mac wakes up from sleep mode, the HP monitor will respond only to turn on maybe 20% of the time to recognize the computer. 80% of the time that he can't find the computer and going to sleep. The only solution I have at the moment is to unplug the power cord at the back of the monitor and reinsert of maybe reset the monitor, at which time it will recognize the computer and everything works fine until next time. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Hello @rotarypilot,

I understand that you are having trouble with your CV 2511 x external monitor is always recognized by your MAC laptop. I'm you provide a document from HP support: updated a monitor driver, who says.

"The HP monitors are not supported in a Mac environment. However, recent Macs use graphics with VESA modes and can display most of the HP LCD monitors. To do this, connect the monitor to the Mac, while the Mac is turned off and then turn on Mac. The monitor must operate at 60 Hz. The INF and software for the HP monitor are for Microsoft Windows and cannot be run in a standard MAC OS environment. »

Basically, any support you will get with a HP monitor on a MAC computer should come from Mac.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Access to the computer monitor

I have several people who live in my house and am looking for a way to tell if my computer has been consulted at any time that I'm not in the House.  Like when I get home from work for example.

If you're concerned only standard user accounts, you can implement Parental control with reports and audit to see what has happened with each account. http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/95139-parental-controls-setup-use.html.

Unfortunately, if they are a s Adminitrator account, they can cancel the Parental control settings (and these controls do not work on administrators in any case) and there is not a lot you can do about it except to use a password and change from time to time.

    ====================================================================================================================================

Things to check to see if someone has used your computer:

Go to C:\Users\\Recent for each account and add a column (by right-clicking on the hearder and clicking more) called access Date and sort the folder in this column and see if the most recently accessed files were by you if you don't recognize some of them - while they have been consulted so that you weren't there (somehow).

Go to Internet Explorer and click on the Favorites button to the left on the toolbar that displays the tabs of the opened page and then click on the history button and see where this user is that day. If they have places you visit, then anyone else on the internet in this account.  Unfortunately, as with recent items, you must verify each account that information is stored separately (in fact, if you implement strong parental control, you can count on these reports for standard users and everything you need to check are administrator accounts).

Go to start / Control Panel / administrative tools / event handler and see what are the events occurred while you were not.  If there are events involving the access or opening files, networks, or other things that you did not and should not be done while the computer was off, then someone in the less active on the computer.  You can't easily tell what they did with it from here, but you can identify certain activities (and the fact that she was turned on may be enough evidence to find someone to confess).

    =====================================================================================================================================

What you really need to do is Add a startup password, which allows anyone access to any account or same boot without first entering the startup password.  If someone figures out, they can get past but it is difficult to do and it's another layer of protection.  http://www.ehow.com/how_2158738_add-power-password-computer.html.  It's not a guarantee, but it is a safety.

It is guaranteed real means can't do that because there is too much way around surveillance or blocks.  What are the best options I can suggest.  There may be 3 third-party programs that do a better job, but they can also be circumvented, and I guess that there is a limit to how well take something like that.  If you're really worried about access to your data, get an external hard drive and move all your data on that drive and take it with you to work.  Then all they can do is use the computer (if they can cross the extra security, I have proposed) but your privacy will be protected.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

I have a desktop HP Pavilion HPE 112Y.  About two weeks, the video has stopped working.  I replaced the HDMI cable, we replaced a VGA cable, etc with no luck.  I plugged in the screen of my laptop and it works fine, then it is certainly the office.  All I get is a message "No. Sigmal video»

I tried to connect the monitor directly on the edge of VGA video connection - without going through the video card.  No luck.

.  I can not get the system starts from the CMOS or restore screen.  Hard drive runs, but goes into the cycle of continuous type "whiring.

System is about 2 years old, running Windows 7 64 bit.

    Help!

    Hello

    Try this procedrue:

Disconnect the PC and open it. Clean all the dust. Carefully, remove and replace all the cables towards the mother board one at a time. Do the same for memory DIMM and the video and the sound of cards if you have a.  You can buy a can of compressed air to blow the dust out of the heatsink from the CPU.  Plug your PC back in and give it a go.

If the above does not help this procedure: power.  Do not skip steps.

Finally, try to clear the CMOS memory.

  • DreamColor LP2480zx does not recognize the USB for calibration

    Hello

I have a DreamColor LP2480zx, which does not recognize the USB connection to the computer during calibration.  I have my eye HP connected through this monitor, so I know the connection and the cable is good and mouse, keyboard.  My setup is like this:

Reference Dell 690 running 64 bit + Windows XP

    DreamColor LP2480zx

    Apple Cinema Display 23 "

I bought the DreamColor used, and in all other respects, it seems to work very well.  The original owner didn't have it calibrated within a certain time, but said that having had no problem with the previous calibration.  I installed the last APS (version 2.0) and updated to the latest firmware.  These updates produces no change in recognition USB problem.

The interesting thing is, I was able to calibrate the Apple Cinema Display, using the same configuration of connection (mouse, keyboard, and HP eye connected to the computer via the LP2480zx) APS was able to see the USB connection and this very well calibrated monitor.

I had trouble with this problem for a few days.  I've looked around quite a bit online and found a few others who have this same problem, but I did not yet find someone who can point out a solution.  If anyone has had this same problem, or has heard of results that correct it, please let me know, because it's very frustrating.

    Thanks for any help

    Clay

An update to my previous post, I realized a work around for this problem.

Apparently, this problem has to do with the Dreamcolor screen and/or software APS do not like working with 64 bit systems.  I'm not saying that it is always the case, but I saw the other posts on this problem on 64-bit systems, and I spoke with two other people personally who told me that they also had the same problem, try to calibrate its Dreamcolor monitor when it was attached to a 64-bit system.  HP does not seem to be concerned about this problem, because they do not even recognize its existence, but since I'm far from being the first to report this problem, he's obviously not a one-time problem.

My solution was this: I had connect the monitor to a regular running XP 32 bit system.  After I did, I could re - calibrate the monitor without the problem of USB connection.  This isn't a very good solution because not everyone has access to several machines, running different operating systems.  But it's a work around, and it worked for me.

Hope this helps other people who have this same problem with their Dreamcolor monitors hooked to their 64-bit systems.

    Clay

PS- I posted this as resolved, only because I was able to calibrate my monitor.  It's not really solved the problem, but it gets the monitor working again.  Maybe HP will address this problem in the future, but I'm not holding my breath.

  • Cannot get sound on the computer

Original title: I'm not all sounds on my computer. I download updated audio contraption and still no sound. Can someone help me please? I tried all day get the sound on my computer. Thank you.

I tried to get a sound from my computer, I did everything possible to get sound, but nothing works. I also download the updated audio thingy but still no sound. I am not connect speakers to my computer, I am using only the speakers located in the monitor. Can anyone help please? I am at my witts end (lol). Thank you in advance.

Hello, I actually paid $59.00 to Hp technical support to only know that when I buy this computer, it came with speakers, so I never received the special cable that was supposed to come with the computer to hear the sound of the computer/monitor itself. Everything on this computer works properly I just need to connect my speakers. I was trying just to hear the sound through the computer, but if I don't want to connect speakers, I'll have to buy that cord/cable wire necessary to do this. Google it and you can probably find ways to reconnect if possible. Good luck, I know how frustrating it can be.

  • Color calibration settings reset after restarting the computer

    Hello!
I had a really hard time with my monitor calibration.
I will try to describe my problem as simple as possible. I hope that someone will find a solution to this because I just couldn't.

    SYSTEM:
ASUS N750JV, Intel Core i7, NVIDIA GeForce GT 750 M + Intel HD Graphics 4600 and, of course, Windows 8.

    PROBLEM:
"Calibrate display" settings change/reset back from each time after restarting the laptop, shut down or put to sleep.

    DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM
I just can't calibrate my screen. Everything I do just does not work.
Calibrating monitor in Windows 8 works very well only during the time when I actually do
But if I restart, stop, or put my laptop to sleep just goes back to normal.

For example, as a first step, the screen of Loggin on Windows 8 when I start seems calibrated.
but when I connect I wait 2 seconds or two and all my settings are changed in return.
I have to recalibrate the screen again and again once and again and again...

Swear to God that I tried all possible solutions to solve my problem and none of them worked.
I have read a lot of forums, and I can't find the solution that actually works.
I did the solution 'Safe mode' , the 'clean boot' solution, in 'color management', I changed the settings (in a way that people who said it should work).
I've updated all my drivers (my system than the GeForce GT 750 M is up to date). I installed all available updates for Windows 8 (when I check updates, the system tells me there aren't everything and my system is also up-to-date).

I guess there could be a problem with my graphics card. I know that everyone has had problems these last time with the new update for GeForce, but like I said before, if I have confidence in my laptop then my graphics card is up-to-date.

It really bothers me. It's annoying and I'm frustrated by that. The worst is that I can't find a solution to this, so I'm really asking for help.
    Thank you!

Original title: calibration unsolved display problem - Windows 8

Adeline B, thank you very much for your answer.
I'm sorry that I have not responded in such a long delay.

Well, my problem has been resolved. I downloaded my GeForce graphics driver was last updated.
    Now everything works fine.

    • I know that this problem can be irritating. If anyone has the same issue so I recommend you (like everyone else) download of the updated driver for your graphics card.
    • If this does not work, try to calibrate your system using programs/software installed on your computer by your manufacturer. In my case it was splendid ASUS utility. I also used Intel® HD Graphics Control Panel.
    • Another thing is you may think that your system does not calibrate when it actually... made. So what you can do, it's just waiting for the start until your system is finally charge up. In my case, Windows 8 something takes about 10 to 12 seconds, until what it changes all the settings of ' my settings'.»» Then first Windows 8 loads up to original settings (and this is why you find that your screen is not calibrated) but then it loads the calibration settings you make before you restart and all is well.

I know this sounds so easy is probably not solve anything, but when I had this problem with the calibration I was so irritated by it I wasn't noticing the changes! I'd just instantly to the desktop or control panel configuration, or web and try to solve the problem, without waiting for my system completely load all settings. But... If the wait does not then consult my previous statements.

  • How to make the computer to recognize that there are 2 monitors?

I have a new hp pavilion hpe h8-1124 with AMD Radeon HD 6570 GPU.  It does not have a VGA port, so I used the adapter supplied in the box HP (DVI / VGA).  To get to two monitors, I used a VGA 2 VGA splitter 'Y '.  Both monitors turn on and show the desktop, but when I use the Windows screen resolution (7 professionals), to stretch my office, the choice of two screens are not present.  Using the button detection detects only a single monitor which is names @.  Using 'Identify' places '1' in each monitor.  When that I start with a single monitor, "detect" correctly identifies appointed monitors.

How can I get the computer to recognize the fact that there are two different monitors?  If I can't do this, I can't do the rest of what I need to stretch the desktop on two monitors.

    Hello

Get rid of the VGA splitter.  You have noticed it doesn't work for the Office of 'cloning', but do not stretch across two monitors.

What are the other ports on the video card?  without doubt, DVI, HDMI, and VGA if this is correct, then one of then one of the monitors must use DVI - D or HDMI if you want to continue to use the VGA for the other monitor.

    Flashing problem is unchanged.

It was the monitor! I brought my laptop and a HDMI cable at Staples where I bought the monitor and tried on the w2207h on set. It has worked well. Took the phone in and out of fashion 'sleep' several times. I'm in the store week return policy 2 stables will replace it.
