Someone at - it a copy of HPAmbientLight.exe practice?

I have successfully installed Windows 8 on my TouchSmart 600, and I would like to get a copy of HPAmbientLight.exe. This is the application that you would use to change the color of the light bar under the monitor on TouchSmarts who have this ability.

It has been previously installed to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Hewlett-Packard\HP Ambient Light\HPAmbientLight.exe .

Can anyone provide a copy or direct me to the download? I'd rather get the .exe only; I have nothing else.

Thank you!

Hello

I just download the Softpaq, and it contains the exe file you are looking for. But it was a bit hidden.

If you check out sp44622.exe, you get 4 files and 2 folders.

One of these files is named "src". This 'src' folder contains a file named 'HPTSAmbient.exe '.

If you check out that file too, you will get a folder "hp", which itself contains a folder "tmp".

In this "tmp" folder, you will have 3 folders and 3 files. One of these files is named "src".

And in this document, you have the 2 installation of packages 'HPAmbientLightSetup.msi' and 'HPAmbientLightSetup_x64.msi '.

(I managed to install it on my laptop, even if it doesn't have a day like that, so it does not work with your PC.)

To extract the installation package, I used a small tool called Universal Extractor.

If you don't want to use it, I just downloaded the 2 files .msi for you:

(uncheck the box, then click the button 'Download' on the left).

  • Windows cannot find C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe

    Hello

Can someone help me, I am trying to open files and folders, and all I get is Windows can't find C;\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe and stop me so gains access. I was told that I could find the file on another computer stick in my memory stick and reapply, only problem I have is I don't know where its located. I'm on windows XP.

    Thank you very much

Thanks for the suggestion, Lisa!  I tried the link but it says page is more noticed.

You happen to know any other solution for that darn missing file?  I can't open all the apps in my control panel! ACK!

Someone found a solution to this problem yet?  Thanks a lot for any attempt to answer!

    :)

EDIT: I GOT IT!  Browsing the internet, I came across this answer:

Find a copy of rundll32.exe in the folder c:\windows\system32\dllcache or c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386.
If you find it, go ahead and copy rundll32.exe in the c\windows\system32 of the system folder.

Otherwise you need a windows disk to extend this fichier.* *.

I have dd a search on my computer for the file "rundll32.exe" and he came in two different folders on my hard drive.  But it MUST be in c:\windows\system32 (file there lack of).  I found the file in the folder dllcache as shown above, then simply copied and pasted in the system32 folder.  And WALLAH!  Problem solved and control panel and all the rest works just fine now!  So simple!  I hope it works for you, the people who are still struggling with this problem!

I've never heard of explorer.exe with a bad virus - you think it's a bad virus... and since we know absolutely nothing about your system or problems with it, there is a copy of explorer.exe on my SkyDrive, you can download:

I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:

    https://SkyDrive.live.com/?CID=6a7e789cab1d6f39&ID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

When you see the files available for download, you can not see the file extension (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc.), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, your browser is unable to save the file with an extension (by example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file called explore when the name of the file should really be called explorer.exe (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

You then put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

Then Sandeep can pick up from there.

I downloaded a copy of rundll32.exe on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive).

You can download it and when you do, put a copy or rundll32.exe in these files:

    c:\Windows\System32
c:\Windows\System32\dllcache (this is where XP keeps backups of important files).

  • Renamed .exe incorrectly and now nothing is open!

    Hello

I have windows xp and was being removed from xp antivirus 2012 virus according to the following instructions (http://deletemalware.blogspot.com/2011/06/remove-xp-antispyware-2012-xp-internet.html). I managed to stop pop ups of this virus, and then proceeded to try to remove the virus altogether and I badly renamed the evil .exe file in my C:\Documents and Settings\ [UserName] Settings\Application Data\ file.

Now, my internet, "add or remove programs" etc files and functions are not open! I get the pop up 'open with' and it equipped with internet explore etc than the recommended program with that I should open. However, when I select the internet Explorer, I wonder to download iexplore.exe app. I run, but nothing happens except the 'open with' pop up comes back to the top.  I checked in my search folders, and it seems that I already file iexplore.
The .exe file in the application data folder is actually an icon/image of a computer and description (under properties) tells internet development tools explore and the file type is application.  Huge problem is that I don't even remember what we called the .exe file until I renamed it! Once I changed the name, everything went wrong.
Can someone please help me either rename this .exe in its default name, or provide a way to restore the settings of this app? Because I can't access the internet, I can't run the Doug knox restore zip file or copy all the text in Notepad without the risk of hurt.
    Help, please!
    Thank you.

    Hi Julie

Your issue is not with the file that you renamed. Your question is malicious software that changed your file association for executable files. In fact, it seems that your computer may still be infected.

Right-click on Internet Explorer and select run as administrator. You should be able to access the internet in this way. If you still cannot access the internet after you choose to run IE as Admin, then you will need download these files using another computer, then transfer the files on the infected using a usb flash drive or cd drive computer.

Download XpFixExe.reg from HERE. Right-click on it and choose "merge". Confirm the prompt. You should now be able to open executable files. Then, download MS Fixit and run it to reset your internet proxy settings. Once you have run these files download Malwarebytes. Be sure to update the scanner once it has been installed and perform a quick scan with it. Remove any detected object.

  • The search for solution to the old ms help format lead to obsolete genuinecheck.exe

I use a software which is absolutely essential for my work.  I'm in a situation where I need to read the help files for the old software.  This software uses an old help format that causes windows 7 to give an error "the help for this program was created in windows help format, which depends on a feature that is not included in this version of windows..." »

I went to download the version of windows 7 to the help format that I need, but I need to validate my copy of windows 7.  I tried to download the genuinecheck.exe that I was directed by the microsoft site, but then I was informed that the copy of genuinecheck.exe that Microsoft gave me was outdated.

The site I went to that was:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/download/exe-validation.aspx?ID=91

It is a microsoft site, spewing a useless file right when someone like me is in terrible rights to our work.

I literally hours complete my task of work and I know I won't get help I need in time to hit my date limits.  So I post this question with the hope that I can solve the problem after the fact.

Thanks to anyone who can help me.

And thank you MS for F * ing me.  I can very well lose my job because of you.

OK, I found a solution that works for me.  I'll go through the steps because it is a bit complicated.

First of all, I would like to thank Komeil Bahmanpour, who has a blog entry which gave the greater part of the solution that I needed to solve this problem.  You can find the entrance to the criticism according to:

    http://blog.komeil.com/2009/06/Windows-Help-program-winhlp32exe-for.html

For many of you who may have this problem, you'll probably be just able to decompress the .cab file, it has linked to his site and then run the .cmd file to work things out.  However, who has not worked for me.

    * What I did *.

In General, I had to download the help files for work and then replace the non-functional regions.  To do this I had to change ownership and permissions of the existing files.

I downloaded the .cab files that contains the file winhlp32.exe and winhlp32.exe.mui for 64-bit windows machines 7.

I opened windows Explorer and place it in the main c: directory

I typed "winhlp32" in the search box.  It gave me all the files and folders that started with this name.

Note: I tried to rename the existing winhlp32.exe and win32.exe.mui files, but it did not work because permission to files did not belong to the administrators.  Rather it is strangely belonged to the so-called "Trusted install."  So I had to change the owner to administrators (and give administrators the appropriate authority) to rename these files.  Here's how I did this:

I right click on the files which permissions I wanted to change in all existing places that they were currently on my computer.  Clicked on properties.  Clicked the safety.  Click Advanced.  Click owner.  Clicked on edit and change the owner of the files to administrators. Here, I went back to the 'security' tab and clicked on "Edit" after the words "to change permissions, click Edit.  I checked the box full control for administrators.

I also had to go through the process described above for folders files have been confined in. (help files do not work correctly without also changing the ownership and permissions of the folders as well)

I renamed the original files (so I could change them back if something bad happens).  I wrote that the files downloaded in the same directories renamed files were in.

I ran my program using old file system and everything worked!

OK thanks to those who have already given this answer and thank you again once to angeline for this blog entry that gave me most of what I needed to fix this.  My work assignment go expiry date and you deserve the honours.

  • Why is wmiprvse.exe begins with Firefox 32.0.1 under XP SP3?

Whenever I run Firefox, I see wmiprvse.exe load as a running process. I see this using Process Explorer from Sysinternals. This happened since I updated to the current version of Firefox (32.0.1). It also occurs whenever I start the latest version of Thunderbird (31.1.1). I have two questions:

    1. is this a normal behavior?
    2. If so, why is it necessary?

And just to clarify things, I researched for HOURS using 'my friend' Google. I also tried to get the answers to these questions in the various forums without success. My copy of wmiprvse.exe is NOT infected (I ran across Virustotal) and is located only where it is supposed to be on my hard drive.

Please help me by joining answers to the two questions I and do not forget that I am talking only about XP SP3.

  • Re: Cannot connect - how can I fix the error "Bad Winlogon.exe - Image"?

Last night, my laptop did something weird. The screen is blue and it has conducted an audit. The audit was in three parts (that's all I remember) once this is done, my laptop back running and it worked very well.

Later that morning, he crashed and restarted, but when it comes to where he usually displays user logons, it came with an error message. The title was winlogon.exe - bad image
and the message describes how the file is incorrect.

Now, my laptop won't let connect me. How can I fix it?

It seems that the file system was corrupted unfortunately he touched one of the important files needed for windows to boot.

You will need a bootable CD to repair the problem for that I recommend Microsoft Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset, you can download from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=5D600369-0554-4595-8AB4-C34B2860E087&displaylang=en

Run the Setup program, go to the installation folder and burn "erd50.iso" as an image (not a data CD) file using software such as Nero.
Then you need to boot from the CD I do not know how it comes to your laptop so check the manual or change the boot order in BIOS whether it is the method as start the recovery disc.

When the software is loaded will ask that the Windows installation you want to repair if no disc i.e. C: is offered in the drop-down list, then you may need to change the BIOS setting regarding the AHCI mode, compatible and under tension when you are finished.
If drive C is visible then the hard drive is accessible, however, you must select "does not fix an installation of Windows." and click OK.

Click Start, then select "Command prompt", you will get a black box with white text.

type the following command and enter: chkdsk c: /f /r

This command will perform a full scan of your hard disk and correct any errors, he can find that could take up to 45 minutes depending on the size of your disk.
When he finished closing and restart your laptop without the CD in the drive, if you have changed the AHCI mode in the BIOS then change back.

If Windows still doesn't boot then boot from the CD again and restart "Command Prompt".

type the following command and enter:

    c:
    cd\windows\system32

If entered correctly your screen should display: C:\Windows\system32 >

type the following command and enter: (Note: the point is necessary and not a typo)

    Copy dllcache\winlogon.exe. /y

If all goes well you should see a message: 1 file (s) copied.

Stop the laptop restore all the BIOS settings and hopefully Windows will boot again normally. :)

  • I need a copy of the iDVD themes folder. Can anyone help?

After changing my hard drive after a failure, I managed to copy all my stuff more, or so I thought. When I open iDVD, the application asks me to find the folder "themes." I don't have it. Apple no longer support iDVD so I was wondering if someone could help a copy?

What version of iDVD you have?  You always have access to your old hard drive?  If so the folder you want to copy is named "iDVD" and will be located in one of two places:

    HD/Library/Application Support

    or

    User/Home/Library/Application Support.

If you do not, you will need to get it by buying a copy of the diskette of iLife 09 of a 3rd party retailier as Amazon.com: ilife 09: softwareor eBay.com.  Why, because iDVD (and iWeb) has been abandoned by Apple for more than a year.

Why iLife 09 instead of 11?

If you buy an iLife disc in order to get the iDVD application do not forget the drive of iLife 11 provides only themes for iDVD 5-7.  Installs the software update is no longer the earlier themes to start from the disc iLIfe 11, or the accession of iDVD 7 available on the Apple Downloads site contain them.

Currently the only sure fire get all the themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:

This shows the content of iDVD in iLife 09 via pacifist disc:

You can then pass from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 through accession to the Downloads Apple Web page.

Export the slideshow in iPhoto under a QT sequence via the export button in the toolbar below.  Select size = medium or large.

Open iDVD, choose a theme and slide the QT movie exported file in the iDVD window to avoid the drop areas.

Follow this workflow to help ensure the best DVD video qualty:

Once the project you want it save it as an image disk via the menu file → save as Disk Image . It will separate from the process of encoding of the burning process.

To check coding mount the disk image, launch a DVD player and read it.  If it plays OK with DVD, encoding is good.

Burn burn to disc with utility disk or toasts to the slowest speed (2 x - 4 x) in order to ensure the best quality.  Always use higher quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are recommended in these forums.
