  Method 1:

  To turn on network discovery
  
  1. Open advanced sharing settings by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type network, click Network and sharing Center, and then, in the left pane, click on change settings for sharing advanced.
  2. click on the chevron to expand the current network profile.
  3. click turn on network discovery and then click on save changes. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide
  confirmation.

  Many answers forum suggest to change the network settings, but that does not work either.
  The combination which solves the problem was to run "SuperAntiSpyware" who found a virus that Norton has not blocked. AND to uninstall and reinstall my copy of Norton 360.

  If you have connected your router with a LAN cable, then you will need to install the LAN driver. If you want to use the network WiFi WLan driver must be installed also.

  According to you the first thread, I assume that you have installed the XP operating system and didn t use the Toshiba Recovery CD. Am I wrong?

  As you know, the LAN driver can be downloaded from the Toshiba page.
  If you will not find any .exe file then you need to install the LAN driver from Device Manager.

  Go to Device Manager, expand network adapters, chose the unknown device and install the reader following this procedure.

  -Select update/install driver
  -Choose the option install from the list or a specific location
  -Select option don't search. I will choose the driver to install
  -then point to the driver that you have downloaded and unpacked.

  makes me think that you have not actually found a wifi connection at all. are you sure that your connected to your wifi network and pulling an IP address?

When I turn on computer and access the internet, it's ok, but after about 2 minutes since the start of Vista, the internet stops working. Ping is still OK for each site (google.com, yahoo.com...), but I can't open any website. When I disconnect and then connect to the network, its straight until the next time the computer starts.

  Have you done a power Plan in your computer?
  If not, please follow this...
  Start button > Control Panel > Classic view > Power Options >
  In this window, select a power Plan, such as balanced etc.
  Click on change Plan settings
  Choose WHEN and HOW you want to computer to turn off or go to sleep display
  Note: you can set it to NEVER
  Click on save when you are finished.
