Sony camcorder initially recognized in the new Firewire on HP Pavilion 500 - 267C Desktop, then fails.

Hello, I have Windows 7 on my HP Pavilion 500-267C.

I bought a Firewire card (http://www.amazon.com/JacobsParts-Express-Firewire-Profile-Controller/dp/B007WTV092/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UT...) to install it firmly into the short slot and the computer restarted, he acknowledged, driver installed. I checked Device Manager and says "OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 host controller, under IEEE 1394 Bus Host Controllers" when I play my clogged (wall and CPU) mini camcorder - DV Sony DCR - HC 85 NTSC, video import window instantly appears (from the photo gallery), I choose "Import video parts" or also "full band", the band rewind then I always get this message no matter what :

"The digital video device that is used for importing video has been disconnected from your computer. Importing video will be closed.  Check that the digital video device is properly connected and turned on, and then try again. »

I didn't hit what whatsoever. This also happens when I use Windows Live Movie Maker and free software that I downloaded to capture AVI. This problem is never happened on my Windows Vista HP Pavilion 2009 a6750t (it came with firewire) and with the same Camcorder - software started instantly, any specifications of my time, no worries, 5 weeks ago.

On the new computer, I rebooted several times, also in a position to firewire cables (used one supplied with the card and mine), had the band in 'Play' or 'Stop', changed ports, nothing helps.

Movie Maker initially rewind the tape however, but above message always appears, and the program closes automatically.

What can we do?

Success took place! I bought Texas Instruments FireWire card here http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002S53IG8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and the driver is automatically installed on my computer and photo gallery and Movie Maker recognized and allow me to import portions of the band successfully on my hard drive where I can edit the video. I tested and retested without any problem. I'm came across this site http://kc.flex-radio.com/KnowledgebaseArticle50179.aspx which had recommendations, including the Syba I bought (check 1/3 down), as well as an another chipset Texas Instruments also available on Amazon, http://www.amazon.com/SIIG-FireWire-2-Port-PCIe-NN-E20012-S2/dp/B000G6U8VY/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1406680989&sr=1-1&keywords=firewire+texas+instruments. I thank very you much referring to the Texas Instruments chipset firewire cards. I didn't realize that they would work so well. I am very happy.

  • How to clear the BIOS on an HP Pavilion 500-214ed

    Hi all

in a Flash of genius unprecedented I accidentally disabled all the USB ports on my Pavilion 500-214ed. Which now leaves me with a useless system, since both USB keyboard and mouse do not work. So I need to reset the BIOS to factory settings.

I have found the ROM_RECOVERY (E16) jumper on the motherboard, which I guess is that I need to clear the BIOS, but I can't find a manual or something to let me know which jumper settings, I need.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks in advance

    Steve

    Hi, Steve:

Normally, you can find that info on the motherboard plug page but it isn't here.

Have you tried to unplug the PC and carefully remove the cmos battery room and pressing the power button to remove all residual power to the motherboard?

If all goes well, remove the cmos battery will also clear the BIOS settings.

But if you look at the motherboard first, there are no jumpers labelled CMOS and password?

  • Logical disk partition not recognized in the New Installation of Windows

Hello.  I would appreciate someone to give me any advice.  I don't know if the problem I encounter is an oversight on my part, but it was not something that I anticipated.

To give a bit of background, until last week, I was running a Windows 7 system on my computer which included three hard drives (4 TB, 2 TB, and a smaller disk).  The 4 TB drive included my boot drive with Windows on a partition of 2 TB and then the unallocated space has been transformed into a new partition in disk management, received the drive letter G and was used for long term backup of data.

Since then, I built a new computer and installed a new version of Windows 7 on a small SSD.  During this process, I have not all disks connected to the machine (except the DVD player) so that there is no possibility of installation of Windows, do something for these readers I didn't (I got burned by this time long ago when you reinstall Windows 95, which makes me just feel old).  After the whole installation process was performed and the new version of Windows has been working well, I opened the machine and plugged the drive 4 TB and 2 TB, assuming that Windows did not recognize them when I started.

When I started in Windows, Windows does indeed recognize the two drives and assign drive letters.  But in the case of the car of 4 TB, he acknowledges that the partition containing my old boot drive.  No drive letter is assigned to the secondary partition.  When I go to disk management, it shows all of the remaining spaces as unallocated space, but seems not yet quite recognize space completely in the way he would if I'd created directly.  For example, if I right click in that box, I don't get the normal options to create a new Simple Volume.  Everything on this menu is grayed out except properties and help.

So I guess I have two questions.  (Leaving aside the possibility of a hardware problem), was I wrong to assume that a hard drive divided into two partitions could be transferred from a Windows machine to another?  I honestly thought that no matter where no matter what Windows 7 machine would recognize the two drives, but maybe I'm missing something fundamental.

Two and more important still, there advice for access to the data on this drive?

    Hello

A problem that could happen is that the disk partition has security setting so that the profile of the user that created it would be able to access it, and seeing that you are trying to access from a new profile may not not allow you to access

To access these files, you can try to boot from the old hard drive manually to change the setting of the partition or simply manually move the files and delete the partition.

To start from the old disk hard restart have the hard drive is plugged in, restart the computer and while it is booting F12 key to select the boot device, after that, select the old hard disk and access them normally.

    hope this has helped.

  • Windows will not install on the new drive for HP Pavilion Elite m9510f

I have a HP Pavilion Elite m9510f operation with Windows Vista Home Premium 64 - bit SP1 and with a Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 HDD of 750 GB.

The HARD drive broke down a few weeks ago and is unrecoverable.

I bought Seagate 1 TB hard drive to replace the 750Go again and used the HP recovery discs provided by HP to wipe the disk and reinstall Windows on it.

I can run all the recovery discs 3 without problem, the computer goes through its paces to reinstall Windows and all of a sudden, the computer stops and I get the message "installing Windows could not configure Windows to run on a hardware on this computer."

What is happening with this?  I use a HARD drive with recovery disks provided by HP.

HARD drive replacement need to be 750Go like the original?

    Any help would be appreciated

Probably a problem with the hard drive being the new type of AF. Windows 7 with SP1 should work better than Vista... but your Vista key will not work with ISO download linked above.

Hello everybody, basically, I bought a HP Pavilion 500-420nl PC and decided to improve a bit with a new power SUPPLY and GPU. The new PSU: Thermaltake Berlin 630W and the GPU is Sapphire R9 270 X double-X OC. The problem is that when I insert the GPU and connect the 2 connectors of 6 pins, I get only a black screen. There is no beeps, the fan runs but the screen remains black. I deleted the old GPU drivers and the new one is plugged correctly, but there is only a black screen. The motherboard should be compatible with the GPU, seeing that it has a PCI-E x 16 slot 3.0. What could be the problem?

    Hello again @padway,

Actually, if you already did a cover of the plant on your computer the problem you describe seems to be a physical problem. Please contact our technical support at the 800-474-6836. • Phoenix 850-150qe: peripheral disks connected West not always recognized by the new computer

I have two Western peripheral connected to my computer.  I store all my backups picures and Painter on these two devices.  When I first boot my computer into the AM sometimes readers are recognized and other times they are not.  I can't understand why this happens.  On my old computer also running windows 10 my discs were always recognized.  On this computer when the error occurs, I have to go into the Device Manager and find readers and indicate the update drivers in order to make them work.  Both drives work fine until I turned off the computer during the evening and restart the morning.  Other times, that my devices are recognized all away without me having to do something for them.  Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I have solved my problem.  I had problems with my computer last week not to open some programs installed HP and spent two hours on the phone with a HP technician.  During this time the technician has literally on my computer to see what was going on.  The technician had crossed and disabled all of my menus start to see if it would solve my problem.  A disabled element is the WD disk start up, so I have now enabled it and so far it seems to work.      The technician explained that they met some problems with windows 10 and how it interacts with the computer.  This new computer came with windows installed 10 while my old computer has been updated to 8.1 to 10 and I don't have the problems that I'm having now.

I'm certainly not an expert on this subject but maybe the
more info will get you started.

Native mode Win 7 Home Premium, Enterprise Professional
or Ultimate is compatible with AVCHD and Win XP is not.

If you connect the device to your PC and go to... My
Computer... There should be a drive letter assigned to
it. you should be able to copy and paste the files in a folder
    on your hard drive.

I think that you need to convert your Panasonic
AVCHD/MPEG-4 video files into a compatible format such as
WMV before they will be available on a Windows XP computer.

    See the following article:

  • Password not recognized for the new Gmail account

My gmail account ID / password is not recognized by Thunderbird. It worked, but somehow it has suddenly stopped working (not able to receive or send emails and just make an hourglass whenever I select any folder in the account).

    Some other details:

. I use Thunderbird 38 (could the upgrade caused the problem?).
. I tried to remove and re-add the account. It connects fine, but does not recognize the username/password.
. I did some Google 2-step of checking is turned off.
. I deleted the Google Contacts.
. I checked that access for less secure applications is disabled in Google (even though I believe that Thunderbird 38 should not require this).

I followed all the steps I find Google search, including the https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-gmailsite. Nothing seems to help.

I'm up a Creek. I like Thunderbird (use it for multiple e-mail accounts), but hair pulling try that it works - and it takes too long. Any suggestions?

At this point, it would be best to contact directly the Sweex.  It is the responsibility of the manufacturer to provide drivers for their devices:

  • (Beginner) of the initial steps for the new installation of vmware workstation & guest os

Hi, very new for the virtual machine. I need help on what type of software (vmware), need and the first steps of the installation.

Current configuration: a portable 3 separate HD, 1 computer = Windows 7, 2 = XP, 3 is Linux RH. I have manually swap HD to work on each operating system.

Req: A laptop with Windows 7 as main OS and two other OS (XP and Linux) Guest.

    (1) I prefer not to install OS and the entire application again for the guest operating system (XP and linux), will like to convert, copy, etc.

    (2) can I install multiple OS (XP) for testing of applications and then delete them?

    (3) can I use a different version of an application in a guest operating system?

The software that I need to buy:

    VMware workstation 7.1

Version of the converted VMware?  (this may be free, I think)

    ThinApp 4. ???

If these are vmware software that I need is a step by step installation, in particular of the convert.

    Thank you, ralph

    Hi Raoul,.

    Welcome to the forums.

VMware vCenter Converter Standalone is a free download that is accessible to everyone, so you can use it to convert your existing machines.

For testing purposes, you can create a virtual machine "or" with all standard applications, and then use the function 'linked-clone"of the workstation. In this way, you can have several machines quickly with the same basic configuration to test different applications.

It is more complicated to have multiple versions of the same application in a single virtual machine. ThinApp seems to be the solution, but it should require the application packages (I have no experience with ThinApp) construction. It's a bit complicated just to test. Way the easiest would be to create a new virtual machine for each version of the application.

Workstation and the converter are very easy to install if you use a standard configuration.

    Good luck.
