• Machine sounds a different number of dings whenever I start windows

  The system is DELL Precision 3410 Quad Core Intel with 8 GB of RAM running Win7 with Virtual Windows XP installed. Norton Internet Security is installed as well as many other applications.  Machine is one of the two machines of Win7 on a home LAN that has NAS and a network attached printer.

  Some time after entering the password user, but until all applications are running, my machine rings several bells. Most often, these are six bells/bumps at a steady pace. Other times it's five bell/ringing followed by a pause and then two bells/bumps in quick succession. Rare opportunity, without bells/ringing sound and sometimes there are as much a ten bells/ringing.

  It seems to me that the machine is telling me that some program doesn't load properly, but I don't know how to say what mean the different sounds.

  Substantially the same software is loaded on a DELL optiplex 7010 Quad Core Intel with 4 GB of RAM.  It never rang a Bell / ding at startup.

  This problem is due to several reasons as follows:

  a. 6 beeps if there is no keyboard controller failure.

  b. 5 beeps if there is no failure of the process.

  c. 2 beeps if there is no parity circuit failure.

  Before you continue with the troubleshooting steps, I would like to know some information about this problem.

  1. are you able to boot to the desktop with success?

  2. do you have the question started recently?

  3. have you connected external devices other than the keyboard and mouse?

  4. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

  Here in this scenario, I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it works for you.

  Method 1:

  Make sure the keyboard (keyboard, check if all the external devices are connected properly, not only) is properly connected. Try to disconnect and reconnect the keyboard (not only keyboard, try this for all external devices). If this is not enough, then try to connect to another keyboard and check.

  Method 2:

  If you are able to boot to the desktop, then run the Memory Diagnostic tool and check if that helps.

• Sound of different scenes, playing on top of eachother

  My project consists of multiple audio files with different MP3 for different scenes.

  In two of my scenes - stage 3 and 4, I have movieclips in which contains various elements, including videos. In these clips, there are buttons which load the videos to play. In order to stop the background music while playing these videos, I use a "SoundMixer.stopAll" - before the framework where videos start - so playback is fine and dandy.

  By clicking the video button output then leads to a frame where I inserted the audio again, who also does the job - it is a framework that are not accessible when met tests UNLESS you click on this button and other parameters, as there is a stop() command in front of her.

• Why the sound is different when the project is exported?

  We have seen that this several times here on the forum but it's never happened to me. I believe that the proposed solution was to remove the shape clip your scenario and replace it form the browser; Make sure that the audio in the browser reference file is good before do you. You can export a range of test history.

  You can also try to delete the files of the project.

  It may take a few hours more for fans to offer other suggestions.

• Separating sound for different devices

  I have a HP pavilion desk top with Vista with SP2 with a built-in TV tuner. I have had this for 2 years and never used the tuner. I'm just learning how to use it and I like it a lot. Now what I'm trying to understand, is how to make the noise divided between devices. What I'm saying is that I want to watch tv on my TV and have all the other sounds through my desktop speakers. I have the tv set in place the screw a HDMI cable. I want to the Media Center to the TV by default. I'm at a total loss about how to do it. I got it where it works i.e. tv with sound and other sounds from thru the speakers Bureau, but when I turned the computer turned off he returned to default speakers. Have all the sounds coming through default speakers.
  Any help would be apperciated

  In addition to the response of Irfan, there is an option to select a default playback device in Windows Vista. In Windows 7, you can select multiple audio outputs if the program that you are using has an option to select the audio output.

• No sound from my Nano Gen 7

  Have had my 7th Gen for a few years. Used only a few times at home, not in the dust. It is in a case of dust all this time. It had sat unused, battery exhausted for about 2 years. Today, that I firstly, charged battery. Then it turned on, went to the music listening and no sound.

  Everything else works. All the function, settings, podcasts, clock, I had to reset but now works. Its all just not making helmets, I guess.

  I reset, several times restored via iTunes on my PC. Both devices are running the current software. The volume control works on screen, volume limit is not, I bought several songs today, others were purchased when I arrived at the unit. The last time that I used it, its worked. Tried 3 different ear pods, no sound of Nano, but the sound of the iPhone.

  I followed all the troubleshooting topics in the User Guide. I hope that someone here is smarter that the guide or knows a trick.

• Satellite L50 - C starts to make mechanical sounds of cracking

  Dear Forum,

  I bought a Toshiba Satellite for Christmas and I was very satisfied, until my laptop started to make sounds remarkable. Sometimes, often, when I was game for a period extended (1 to 2 hours), the laptop starts to make mechanical sounds of cracking. These sounds is different from a regular cooler sound. Instead, this looks like a gear in the cooler is hitting something. Is this normal, or should I worry?

  Looks like something is stuck in the fan.
  A Toshiba repair center should be able to remove it.

  The laptop supports the DTS sound. This preinstalled software/is utility and you should select / activate the SDR for the internal speakers.
  This improves the sound quality.

  Otherwise I would recommend to use external speakers.

  When you launch your Touchportal right click the sound icon in your system tray and click Open Volume Mixer. Volume mixer gives you control of all your sounds on different programs running. I would suggest making sure that all are at their maximum setting of the control volume for Touchportal could be minimzed or MUTE.

  If it still does not work, then the only other suggestion would be to try to restore the system to its factory settings. This would fix problems registery, that could be the cause of the problem. I know it's not the difficulty of the idea but your steps for troubleshooting and what I think is the only other option at this point.

  Please answer the questions below which will provide more information on the issue, that you face.

  1. Have you tried to play sounds on different applications?
  2. Have you tried to connect an external speaker or headphones to check if sound works through these devices?

  In the meantime, I ask that you uninstall the device from the sound card in Device Manager, uninstall the sound drivers in the programs list and then download and install the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website. This occurs generally if the card sound/device drivers are corrupt, it is the reason why, we will have to completely uninstall and then reinstall them.

  To do this, follow the steps below.

  Step 1: Uninstall the device from Device Manager sound card.

  • Start the laptop on the desk.
  • Press Windows key + R to bring up the run window.
  • In the run window, type devmgmt.msc to bring up the Device Manager
  • In Device Manager, expand the sound card device and right-click on it with the mouse.
  • Click Uninstall on the shortcut menu.

  Step 2: uninstall device drivers from the list of programs

  After you have uninstalled the device sound card in Device Manager, I would ask to uninstall you the drivers for the device in the list of programs. For this try so the troubleshooting steps provided below.

  • Start the laptop on the desk.
  • Press Windows key + R to bring up the run window.
  • In the run window, type appwiz.cpl to make a list of the programs installed in the computer.
  • In the list of installed, select the program/software related to the sound card, and then uninstall.

  Step 3: Download and install the latest drivers available from the manufacturer's website

• Processor or disk hard annoying sound

  I started to notice a new peircing sound really annoying ear on the SL500 I received last week.

  It's a very high-pitched sound that hurt my ears and gives me a headache. I first noticed it in class yesterday.

  I checked at home, I hit the pc and put my ears under the fan on the bottom left and I heard noise coming from there.

  It's really boring and high. What should I do? I tried to open the box of the fan, but as something strange square to open fully block there and I cannot close most it's too hard. : '(devrait être réparé lol.) • I have a thumping sound during video playback.

  I have a computer Dell Inspiron 1545, 64-bit laptop, equipped with Windows 7 family Premium SP1. During video playback, streaming online or a video on my computer, I get a noise very loud from time to time. It is almost an audio feedback effect. Sometimes the video hangs at the noise.
