Sound stops working randomly in Windows 8

I have the HP Envy X 2 using Windows 8 and every day I use the laptop to watch things or just listen to the music, the noise will stop working at some point. I have try the resolution of problems and no problem finding. I unplug the keypad where it is a connection issue. None of this works. The only way to solve the problem is to restart. Sometimes, it doesn't work the first time and I have to restart a second time. It's getting really frustrating now and I don't know if that's a problem with my laptop and I'll have to send again or if it's a matter of Windows 8.

I'm grateful for any help
Thank you

Hi Jennifer,.

-Have you tried to reinstall the Audio drivers to check if it works? If this isn't the case, I suggest you to install the latest drivers and check.

Visit the HP website and download the Audio drivers based on your model number of the laptop.

http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/ProductList.jsp?locale=en_US&TaskID=135&prodSeriesId=5296226&prodTypeId=321957

Once you have downloaded and saved to the desktop drivers, follow these steps.

1. press the button on Windows and the X button, then select Device Manager.

2. Browse sound, video and game controllers.

3. right click on the Audio driver and click on uninstall.

4. you will be asked to completely remove audio drivers. Press OK and continue.

5 restart the computer, and then install audio drivers that you downloaded from the HP website.

Hope that reinstalling the driver may resolve this problem. If you have any questions, please let us know.

For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update

Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

    Hello

    • Have you tried the suggestions of Imran M in other post?

    You can view these methods:

    Method 1:

Temporarily disable UAC and check if the problem persists.

    1. open Control Panel.
    2. under the user account and family settings click on the "add user account / remove."
    3. click on one of the user accounts, for example, you can use the guest account.
    4. in the user account, click on the link "go to the main page of the user account.
    5. under "Make changes to your user account", click on the link "change security settings".
    6. in him "turn User Account Control (UAC) to make your computer more secure" click to deselect the "use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer. Click the Ok button.
    7. you will be asked to restart your computer. Do when you're ready.

Warning: User Account Control (UAC) can help you to prevent your computer from unauthorized changes. It works by asking permission when a task requires administrative rights, such as installing software or changing settings affecting other users. We do not recommend disable user account control. If you turn it off, you must reactivate as soon as possible.

    Method 2:
I recommend the clean boot and try to run the program.

Configuration of your system in a clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

See the following article in the Microsoft KB for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp56501-57000/sp56900.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you're done, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then proceed to a "forced Reset" by holding down the power and time for 10 seconds.  When done, plug in the adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

    Kind regards
