Although the "Sounds and Audio Devices Properties" appear to be configured correctly, the speaker volume icon is missing from the taskbar. I think that this began after I have installed Kaspersky Internet Security 11.0.2.556. What can I do to restore the taskbar icon?

All my desktop icons disappeared from my Windows 7 Desktop
I created several icons on Desktop 4 computers after installing clean computers with Windows 7 Profession (whether with the 32-bit or 64-bit). After a few days, some of the desktop icons disappear. However, when I click on the toolbar of office at the bottom of the Windows desktop, icons that disappeared from the Office were always present and available in the list of desktop toolbar. I've seen many users have the same problem on the Internet but no solution to the problem. Any suggestion for the fix.
Hi guys,.
I found the cause of her mysteriously disappear from the Windows 7 desktop icons and the reason why the Show Desktop icons now and then get UN-ticked.
INFRARECORDER is! Try for yourself, when you start Infrarecorder and close the bottle, go take a look at 'See the desktop icons', it is not checked (but the icons are still there). Check it on again and start Infrarecorder... He is not checked again.
This Windows 7 "bug" is irritating for me since the beginning and now I found the cause: it is Infrarecorder that causes this problem.
Test it and please let me know and spread the word :-)

Flashing intermittent volume icon and the erratic mouse pointer.
I have a problem with intermittent flashing volume icon, when this happens, the volume icon is maximized and apears on the screen at the same time it is found in the taskbar. The volume icon will then quickly flash and cycle between silent and this causes the volume to sizzle even if no audio signal is coming through the speakers. At the same time as this, I often get a pointing device erratic which cannot be controlled and moves all around the screen if I try to move it.
Now for the strange bit. The volume control buttons do not allow the volume to be cut or modified when all this is happening, however if I hold my finger on the volume upwards or downwards, or the mute button this totall recuse the erratic pointer that I can then use again.
This problem is intermittent and random. I did a complete system restore and it still occurs. I noticed one thing, it is that keys icon flashing if sytem is working hard. Howvere, sometimes it happens at all.
I did sacans full of viruses and malware, but as I said it is still present after a full restore of the system. Im guessing it may be a hardware failure or a short circuit so probarbly will bring to a grumpy, but it would be good to have an idea of what it might be before hand so I do not be fooled.
IM on windows xp pro on a Dell latitude D820 almost three years but otherwise a fine computer
Thank you
Interzona
Hi Interzona,
1. did you of recent changes on the computer?
2 when was the last time it was working fine?
3. do you have security software installed on the computer?
It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.
I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

Hello!
I am running windows xp sp3, the volume icon disappears from the taskbar on each reboot or shutdown/startup.kindly, help with any permanent solution known.i should go to the control panel and to recover it again whenever I turn my on.kindly advice, someone machine me a solution permanently this problem.i want to stay always on the taskbar the volume icon.
the honest answer is expected... Thank you!Hello
Try this:
Control Panel - device - sounds Manager - note manufacturer device name and info on the graduating model.
Double click and get the date and version of the driver (if 06 are dates, you use the default windows driver). Now
Click the DRIVER UPDATE (this can not find anything because MS is far behind the certification of drivers). Now LAW
CLICK above and UNINSTALL - REBOOT - it will refresh the driver stack. Now, go to the manufacturer of the system and recover the last pilot audio/Hi-Fi as a fall.
Download it - SAVE - go to where you put it - RIGHT CLICK top - RUN AS ADMIN - REBOOT
Now do the same for the manufacturer of the device (the one that made the device - if you were using the default windows
you might need to look in the Device Manager - his new driver).Often, you will need to run the sound card drivers several times to get the latest version installed and will appear in
Manager - Sound. This is because they make back the drivers one at a time and then finally install the
most recent. Look in the Device Manager to be sure that you have installed the version of the driver is the one showing, if not
run the driver again (reset each time) until the shows a correct.Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

Satellite L830-10U: WIn 7 Volume icon missing from the taskbar + cannot display
Hello
I have a satellite L830 10U with Windows 7

I tried to turn it on, but the option 'Show icon /notifications' doesn't show any icon, just the plain text
and the tab system icon (volumen, battery, net,...) the volume icon is gray not selectableAny ideas?
Are Toshiba and Windows updates interfere somehow?Thank you
This isn't portable problem, but your system is confusing upward.
Check this YouTube video that shows you how to re-enable this sound icon:

I don't know how to recover my volume icon - can anyone help? Thank you!
Hello
If one of the system icons is out, you can reactivate the as follows:
Right-click on the taskbar and select Properties. This will bring up the tab "properties of menu taskbar and start. It's where you mentioned, it is gray. It is very well... From there, you can click on Customize button in the icon section. Look for the icon that you are missing, and check the status. The type of report should read "Hide icon and notifications", change that to "Show icon and notifications".
If this does not resolve the issue most likely you have a problem with group policy on your machine. This can be corrected by following the instructions on the following link:
http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/01/01/fix-network-clock-volume-and-power-battery-system-icons-missing-with-disabled-or-grayed-out-check-box-options/
