special characters not available in interactive pdf format

Hello, when you type in one of the textfields in my interactive pdf I noticed that I can't use special characters such as é, to, e... Instead, I get O

I can't choose the police so I'm stuck with this game?

We need forms in combination with forms on our new website. When you fill in on the website that this interactive pdf is automatically created so we can work with the data, so it is very important people can fill their data properly.

What version of InDesign are you using?

I created show and hide features in InDesign I want to export to interactive PDF format. These functions work when seen in Acrobat on the desktop, but not on iPad/Tablet - why?

Why? Most likely because the PDF Viewer on the Tablet is too stupid to deal with show/hide functionality.

You could try PDF Expert of Readdle on qpdf Notes Pro on Android and iOS devices.

Depending on how the show/hide was created during the export of InDesign, it can work in viewers. Otherwise, you will need to open PDF files in Acrobat and edit features show/hide something more digests of PDF device viewers.

BTW, you will encounter the same issues with the PDF display components in web browsers.

    I hope this can help.

  • Animated GIF does not not in interactive PDF format

I added a GIF animated in my INDD file and can see the animation in the preview of the EPUB, but when I export and open the interactive PDF file, the image is static.

I use CC and am on a mac, but have asked a few people on other devices to open with the same results.

    Any idea?

While the animated GIF is supported by EPUB, it is not supported in interactive PDF.

    Hi rkusa1,

Thank you for using Microsoft Windows forum

QuickBooks worked very well under Vista? It should also work reliably on Windows 7.

However, you may want to follow these steps.

    1. right click on your quickbooks start exe file and open properties.

    2. on the Compatibility tab, select the compatibility mode and run this program in compatibility mode for Windows using the following link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows (only if she worked very well with former Windows operating system)

    3. the control privilege level "Run this program as Administrator". Press apply/OK to close properties.

    4. start - devices and printers - add a printer - add a local printer - create a new port - local port and name it QBD_PDF.

    5. Choose install AMYUNI Technologies - Amyuni Document Converter 300 (click the button update windows if it is not on your list).

    6. If windows detects you already have a driver and then choose to replace the current driver. The printer name Quickbooks PDF Converter - do not share the printer - NOT set as the default printer. Finishing

    7. start right click - devices and printers - printer QB, choose printer - properties and go to the Advanced tab.

    8. remove the checkmarks in the 4 elements with square next to them (lower part of the screen) boxes, and then select "Print directly to the printer" press OK to close the window.

9 restart you computer and open Quickbooks. Open the file - printer installation and make sure of Quickbooks PDF Converter is selected for any operation PDF printer that you use frequently. (on rare occasions, you will see not of Quickbooks PDF Converter on the list, reboot again and you'll get it).

You can now perform operations of PDF in Quickbooks (works for 32 and 64-bit Windows 7)

  • Interactive chart do not save "selections" in PDF format

    Hi all

I created an interactive chart CC animate (aka Flash) - I added to a PDF in Acrobat but the user selections are not saved when the PDF file is saved.  Any suggestions on how to achieve this?  Here is the link to the test site so that you can see the Flash file.   Homepage

    Thank you very much!

    Sarah

Content Flash inside a PDF file cannot save persistent data in the usual way (using the Local Shared Objects) because there is no browser engine to manage. Your Flash application should rather use the multimedia_saveSettingsString API functions and multimedia_loadSettingsString to move a collection to the format string values of variables at runtime Acrobat interface, which will be then save as hidden data embedded in the PDF file.

David, why I want / need to go to the charset = UTF-8?  Browsers in the future is no longer make charset = ISO-8859 pages correctly?  And what about the charset = windows-1252?

UTF - 8 is in Unicode format, that represents the characters in all the world's main writing systems. It supports such as o and u accented characters.

ISO-8859-1 is a small subset of UTF - 8, more commonly known as Latin 1 or Western Europe. It does not support accented characters. Instead, you must use o and u to represent the same character.

Windows-1252 is a non-standard character set that should never be used in a Web site.

Given that your hosting company offers support UTF-8 on the specified directories, it's the way you should go. If you have pages that are encoded in ISO-8859-1, they will display properly when served as UTF - 8. However, the reverse is not true. A page that is encoded in UTF - 8 is likely to be damaged if served as ISO-8859-1.

Also the old files have one or two of these lines in the headers:

Are they necessary?  What happens if I remove them?

No, they are not required. Nothing will happen if you remove them.

  • Function 'Send form' in Indesign CC do not export to interactive PDF correctly

I created a form in Indesign CC using the 'Submit form' and 'mailto:address' int and then exported as an interactive Pdf. The form Submit button works on my computer in Acrobat Reader and Acrobat Pro XI, but when I send it to my client or to another user, that it no longer works. Can anyone help?

Find out if it works depends on a number of things. It can only work if the PDF Viewer that is used supports this type of action. You will find that the most common are not, such as Preview on OS x and iOS and integrated PDF Viewer for Firefox. But even if you use Adobe Reader, it may not work if the user does not have a properly configured e-mail client. It is a good idea to provide clear instructions and include what PDF viewers are supported and what to do if the email is not engaged (for example, to save the PDF and manually attach it to an e-mail to the intended recipient).

  • Can I create a 'share' in interactive PDF format button?

    Hello

I would like to create a 'share' in an interactive PDF button. I want to set so that when the reader clicks on the 'share' button, it opens a window in their e-mail client, with the PDF file as an attachment. Is this possible? I don't want to use all the social media channels to share the PDF file, only through their customer e-mail as an attachment.

    Thank you

    Ross

Yes, in the event the mouse to the top of the button, select an action to "Submit a form" and specify a URL of type mailto as:

    mailto:[email protected]

Don't forget to use lower case for "mailto" and do not include any spaces. Select the entire PDF file to include, as opposed to FDF/XFDF/HTML.

  • 'Click to activate' in interactive PDF format

I create a document using InDesign and exporting then out as an interactive PDF file. Whenever someone sliders on a support of files within the PDF file, a message pop up (like a ToolTip) that says "click to activate".

Anyone know how I can remove this message? I did a little research and came not with a large part (though I saw a few recommendations for Javascript and IE).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can not. The "Click to activate" ToolTip (and also all THE ToolTips in Acrobat and Adobe Reader) are fixed. You cannot change what they say, nor can you turn them off.

  • InDesign published site in interactive PDF format

Hi guys I am wondering if anyone can help?

I created a base for my father Web site, however, I want people to be able to click on the 'click here' BUTTON and it takes them to an interactive PDF that they fill in their details on.

You can see the site if it makes it easier to www.cheapaparcels.com (the site is ONLY intended for a small community of people Spain Costa Blanca, Iam so does not do free advertising).

I connected the button to a PDF (which is on my PC) but of course, it does not work when uploaded.

Can someone point me in the right direction as to how to achieve?

    Thank you very much

You must download the PDF and the link to the location on the web server.

  • Function similar to the States of SWF objects in interactive PDF format

Is it possible, through the use of maybe text anchors and hyperlinks, to perform a function similar to the States of SWF objects in an interactive PDF?  I hope that there is a clever way to allow end users to press a button that could hide/show page content in an interactive PDF file.  I have experimented with a number of things without success and was curious to know if the users of the forum know a solution.

    See you soon,.

    Steve

You must use the functions of hide show with buttons. Not nearly simple as WHO, but it works.

The content that would be show/hide would need to be converted into buttons to make it work.

  • Text on a path not to export in PDF format

This announcement, I'm just in case there is an easy solution, but I suspect that the architecture of a particular CS4 file is damaged in a weird way that only affects exporters text on a path in PDF format.

Most of the examples of text on a path in this document will not export to PDF, and I have a suspicion that the problem may occur only after a certain number of page - but that is not confirmed. Tried anything that I don't gets me the text in an exported PDF, and that includes almost all the possible combinations of the export settings by changing the layers, masking layers, restoration OSX and reloading CS4.

One thing can work: as a test, when I moved a page to a new document, text on a traced is exportable. I didn't have no more in that direction immediately, in the case where there is a difficulty that is easier than moving 813 pages at once, which crashes CS4 when I tried it.

    Any suggestions?

Under the banner of 'better late than never', this bug is now fixed in the 6.0.4 update.

  • Using XML with special characters - not rendered

    Hello

I use xml to fill the contents of a Flash file, but we located the contents for different regions of the world. Thus, when the content contains special characters like 'e' that they don't appear at all in flash. I tried using & eacute; but making just the actual code...

Is there a solution for this?

    Thank you

    Rothrock,

With your help, I was able to determine exactly what was going on. You hit the nail head when you mentioned the police include parameters. The people who originally created the file not selected one of the Latin glyphs or no matter what foreign glyphs, so I changed it and republished.

Another problem was that the XML of files that I saved in Homsite were detects not properly register with the UTF - 8 encoding as default does not read Homesite file encoding when you open a file. I changed the setting and now correctly saves it in a file encoded in UTF - 8. (for those who need to know how to change this setting, go to the top in the Options > settings > file settings > check the box ' Enable non ANSI file encoding. ")

Thanks for your help, might not have thought of it otherwise!

Edit: This accidentally marked as the answer, but Rothrock was indeed the answer n the post above...

  • Why the .oam files do not work with interactive pdf?

I use InDesign CC 2015 11.0.1.105 to export the interactive pdf file and I use Edge Animate 6.0.0 to export the .oam file.

I import the oam in InDesign and position the overlay to AutoPlay with a slight delay. The window preview shows the animation work, but when you export as a interactive just the image of the poster is displayed. That I'm viewing the pdf file in Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Am I missing something or is the latest version of InDesign does support this feature more?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Thanks Bob.

Animations work fine if I export them in a view in iBooks and EPUB.

Which is weird, because all the tutorials I watched their show to add files oam and exporting as an interactive pdf: s

At least I can make it work now.
